He couldn’t believe Ji Yu would die like this.

"Where’s the basent?" He looked at the two n stationed at the door to begin with, clearly suspecting them of guarding the entrance to the basent.
The two n beca even more visibly flustered, clearly aware of the truth but afraid to speak out.

Their expressions showed so hesitation, but knowing this man’s considerable influence in the Lin family, they relented and stepped away from the doorway.

Lin Chujian went berserk, blocking the path ahead, unwilling to let them enter.

She felt as though every ounce of her energy had been drained; going without food for so long had left her so weak that she couldn’t even lift her arms.
When she saw the light pouring in from the doorway, she realized she had finally been rescued.
"Yu..." Gu Qixiao saw her unconscious form and felt as though his blood had frozen solid, terrified that her body had gone cold.
He gently lifted her, feeling her warmth to confirm she was still alive.
His movents were cautious, as if handling a fragile gemstone.
"Yu, I’m taking you to the hospital right now. You have to hold on. You promised you wouldn’t abandon ."
Gu Qixiao ignored everyone else’s stares, carrying Ji Yu to the car and heading straight for the hospital.
All the way there, he kept checking her pulse, as if afraid she would slip away in the next mont.
"Yu, you have to hold on. We’ve only just reconciled. You can’t just abandon like this! And you’re carrying my child. You promised we would raise this child together!"
He kept talking to Ji Yu, fearing she might never wake again.
Ji Yu’s face was deathly pale, her once captivating features now looking gaunt and fragile.
"Yu, I won’t lose you again. This ti, it’s my fault. No matter what happens in the future, I will stay by your side and never let you face danger again."
For the first ti, he felt genuine fear, his hands trembling as he spoke. "Yu, please, forgive this once. I swear I’ll protect you this ti."
