Ji Yu is soone whose emotions easily fluctuate, but now she wants to break this habit as soon as possible.

Even though she saw Gu Qixiao waiting not far away after work, she still didn’t have the intention to approach him.

Gu Qixiao stepped forward and grabbed Ji Yu’s hand. "Yu, I want to explain to you properly. Today’s issue was indeed poorly considered on my part, but my true intention is to avoid being involved with Song Xuan."

Actually, this had to do with both him and Ji Yu.

Ji Yu disliked this kind of relationship, and so did he.

But now, he had completely ssed things up.

Ji Yu raised an eyebrow. "Don’t you think your approach is a bit odd? I didn’t ask you to do anything, yet you keep making wrong decisions. And do you really think Song Xuan being absent from ho has no impact on you?"

She hadn’t forgotten how flustered Gu Qixiao looked earlier when he ca over. Didn’t that count as an impact?

Maybe he himself didn’t notice, leading to this kind of mindset.

"It’s normal for you not to sense Song Xuan’s influence on you. After all, there’s often a blindness when you’re in the situation. But let clarify for you—so long as Song Xuan is involved, this influence won’t disappear."

Such things made her feel physically uncomfortable.

Without hesitation, she got in the car directly.

She was noticeably more irritable upon returning ho.

Madam Ji, seeing Ji Yu in this state, could already guess it was about Gu Qixiao.

"You silly girl, since you’ve already said you don’t want to be with him, why not go out with us for a walk? Maybe you’ll forget all this once you’re outside?"

She gazed at Ji Yu lovingly, knowing that her daughter could sotis be quite stubborn about these matters, which was why she wanted to take her out to relax.

"Forget it. It might be because of the pregnancy, but I’ve recently felt reluctant to go out."

She just wanted to rest peacefully in her room.

However, she did notice lately that Ji Yuanzhou seed to have been away from ho for quite a while. "What’s my brother been up to recently? It’s been a long ti since I saw him having dinner at ho."

Speaking of Ji Yuanzhou, Madam Ji sighed. "That boy, I don’t even know what’s going on with him recently. Every ti I call, he says he’s busy."

As parents, they couldn’t rush him. They could only hope he wrapped things up quickly.

"Tomorrow your dad and I are going out for a few days. If you have ti, go to Yuanzhou’s office and check on him. Don’t let him only focus on work; he should at least find us a daughter-in-law."

They were also looking forward to having grandchildren.

Ji Yu nodded and agreed to this.

The following afternoon, she went to check on Ji Yuanzhou.

But she wasn’t sure if it was just her imagination—it seed like Ji Yuanzhou looked visibly worn-out. "Brother, are you okay?"

She felt a bit concerned about Ji Yuanzhou’s condition.

"It’s nothing. Just haven’t been resting well lately. I’ve been busy handling things at the company. After a while, it’ll get better."

Ji Yu felt like sothing wasn’t quite right, but she couldn’t pinpoint it imdiately. She could only sigh, "Brother, don’t overwork yourself. Mom and Dad said to make ti for proper rest at ho. Don’t let work crush you."

Ji Yuanzhou forced a faint smile. "Alright, I understand."

He knew what he needed to do next and wouldn’t allow himself to act this way again.

Ji Yu felt like she was missing so details, but seeing how Ji Yuanzhou refused to say anything, she decided to let it go for now.

That evening, when talking to Feng Qinqin about this matter, she couldn’t help but vent. "I don’t even know what’s wrong with my brother lately. Why does he seem to have so much on his mind every day?"

Feng Qinqin paused, swallowed a piece of at after taking a sip of water, and replied, "Yuyu, could it be possible your brother’s dating soone?"

"Now that you ntion it, that could be true. But he’s always busy with work at the company—is he dating soone inside the office?"

Thinking of this possibility, Ji Yu stopped fretting. Since it wasn’t anything difficult to resolve, there was no need to overthink.

"Not necessarily. Your brother’s personality is rather unusual." Feng Qinqin bit into a banana, feeling speechless about Ji Yuanzhou’s situation.

Ji Yu watched her reaction with curiosity. "Weren’t you not very close with my brother before? Why are you suddenly bringing him up now?"

"Isn’t it because you’re gossiping with about it?" Feng Qinqin replied with nonchalance, showing no fear of being exposed.

Ji Yu raised an eyebrow, feeling like sothing was off, but so things couldn’t be unveiled quickly.

"Speaking of this, how are things lately between you and Uncle Feng? You’re not still holding a grudge over that engagent incident, right?"

"Don’t bring it up. My dad has been constantly pressuring to find a boyfriend. Do you think finding soone is as easy as just wanting to?" Feng Qinqin couldn’t help but complain about the matter.

She mostly felt that it was just too frustrating.

Who wouldn’t find such matters exasperating?

"I’m now thinking that maybe I should just be like you—skip the dad part and go straight to being a mom myself. That way my dad will probably stop interfering in my life."

"By the way, how are things between you and Gu Qixiao?" Feng Qinqin had been busy with her own engagent issues lately and hadn’t kept up with their gossip.

"There’s no way we’ll end up together." Ji Yu spoke decisively, showing no intention of continuing any relationship with Gu Qixiao. Since she already knew it would lead to a wrong outco, why keep walking the path?

"I know there’s a fundantal issue between us. So I’d rather cut things off before they start—it saves the pain later, doesn’t it?"

She didn’t deny any feelings; she simply chose to sever the connection between them.

Feng Qinqin was taken aback, not expecting Ji Yu to have feelings for Gu Qixiao at so point.

"Yuyu, the premise of what you just said is that you liked Gu Qixiao before, but realized you’re not compatible, so you..."

"Yes." She had no hesitation admitting the truth, but she also firmly believed there’d be no continuation of their story.

"You don’t need to be surprised or keep asking about us. Just understand that there’s no future between us, and that’s enough." Ji Yu’s words were blunt and to the point.

Feng Qinqin was montarily at a loss on how to comnt on such a conclusion.

"I just think you might be being too harsh on yourself. What if you end up regretting this decision?"

She still wanted to persuade Ji Yu not to make hasty choices; otherwise, she might feel miserable later.
