To be honest, Ji Yu’s attitude toward this matter has always been clear.

Now, hearing this sentence, she was a bit speechless, "It seems he still couldn’t resist trying to threaten even as he’s leaving, but Sun Shou should still be alive, right?"

She glanced at Gu Qixiao, worried he might really lose his temper and kill soone.

"He’s alive. I would never let sothing happen to him like that."

But Sun Shou was already living a fate worse than death.

He didn’t want Ji Yu to see such a grim scene, so he spoke rather vaguely.

However, how could Ji Yu not perceive the aning hidden behind his words? She understood Sun Shou’s situation likely wasn’t good.

"Looks like I underestimated President Gu indeed, but honestly, these kinds of things don’t need to be hidden from ."

What she had witnessed before might have been even darker than what Gu Qixiao and the others imagined.

So such matters really didn’t bother her.

Gu Qixiao hesitated, "Do you want to see Sun Shou?"

He had considered it before, but Ji Yu standing before him now gave him great courage.

"What’s there not to see? Since you’ve invited to take a look, I’ll reluctantly agree to check it out."

She was curious to see what was going on here.

Gu Qixiao took Ji Yu to a dimly lit basent, where a crawling human figure could be vaguely seen on the ground.

When the lights turned on, sure enough, it was Sun Shou.

The mont Sun Shou saw Gu Qixiao and Ji Yu, his face was drenched in tears, "Please let go. I promise I’ll never do sothing like this again."

He had been tortured to the point of losing his features, looking quite frightful, but Ji Yu remained calm and collected.

"The things you did were indeed disgusting, but we absolutely won’t do anything illegal or criminal."

Though, technically, this situation bordered on that; Ji Yu rely chose to ignore it instinctively.

Gu Qixiao watched Ji Yu’s composed deanor and suddenly felt that she was indeed the one most suited to him. For a regular person, witnessing such a scene would surely evoke fear, but Ji Yu remained indifferent.

This was probably why Ji Yu captivated him—she always brought unexpected surprises, no matter the circumstance.

Nonetheless, Ji Yu intended to minimize conflict, "Just send him to the police station directly. We can’t keep him locked up here forever. If he gets desperate and retaliates later, it won’t end well."

So things are best handled with discomfort when necessary, and release when unavoidable.

Gu Qixiao naturally didn’t reject Ji Yu’s suggestion, "Alright."

As he accompanied Ji Yu out, he had already arranged for others to send Sun Shou to the police station.

Ji Yu was no longer resistant to interacting with Gu Qixiao.

However, there weren’t any overly intimate gestures between the two.

From the perspective of others, this dynamic seed perfectly normal. But for Song Xuan, witnessing it was akin to a sudden and devastating shock.

"Xiao, how could you bring another woman ho?" Tears welled up in her eyes, as if what she saw was an earth-shattering betrayal.

Ji Yu arched her brow, surprised by Song Xuan’s dramatic accusation, "You must have misunderstood. We simply have other matters to attend to."

She had no interest in seeing Song Xuan slit her wrists again. Such incidents left anyone witnessing them with a weight of guilt.

What’s more, Gu Qixiao shared a particular connection with her.

But Song Xuan wasn’t listening anymore. Seeing Ji Yu standing beside Gu Qixiao in the villa, she completely lost control.

"Didn’t you say you wouldn’t fall for Xiao? Why are you trying to steal him from ?"

She was crying ssily, her emotions unraveling, as if the weight of the entire world had collapsed on her.

Ji Yu frowned, unsure of how to assess the situation before her.

"What do you an? When did I ever compete with you for Gu Qixiao? And are your tears here ant to accuse us of rely standing together?"

This was hard to classify as any sort of normal behavior, and Ji Yu felt like her head was about to explode.

She couldn’t fathom how Song Xuan managed to conjure tears at every possible mont.

"That’s not what I ant! I’m saying you shouldn’t have entered Xiao’s house. This is our ho. You, an outsider, shouldn’t be here!"

In Song Xuan’s skewed logic, this was her and Gu Qixiao’s shared space—no other woman had any right to show up here. Yet Ji Yu’s appearance clearly triggered her sense of crisis.

Besides, she hated this whole situation.

What gave Ji Yu the audacity to cross such a line?

"Ji Yu, you’re the one who doesn’t belong here. Don’t think you can steal my Xiao just because of this!"

Ji Yu raised an eyebrow, glancing toward Gu Qixiao. She was now even more convinced that Song Xuan’s erratic behavior in matters concerning Gu Qixiao contained signs of delusion.

Even sothing as simple as normal proximity could drive Song Xuan into hysteria.

Gu Qixiao pinched the bridge of his nose, clearly exasperated by the situation before him, "Song Xuan, when will you stop causing trouble? Didn’t I say I’d help you find a suitable husband?"

He couldn’t understand why Song Xuan was so obsessed.

Wouldn’t it be better for both of them to separate?

This situation couldn’t possibly lead to anything good for either of them.

"Xiao, how can you just dismiss like this? I’m the woman destined to marry you! You promised to take care of for life. And my brother’s death—do you plan to repay just like this?"

She cried hysterically, as though Gu Qixiao had committed an unforgivable sin against her.

Even Ji Yu felt stifled watching this, let alone Gu Qixiao.

"Enough. Your issues are none of my business. I have other matters to attend to and won’t get involved."

Her tone was cold, as though this entire ordeal had nothing to do with her.

But Song Xuan, for so incomprehensible reason, suddenly snapped, grabbing Ji Yu by the hair and seemingly ready to yank her toward the nearby table. Gu Qixiao finally lost his patience then.

He slapped Song Xuan hard across the face and pushed her hand away. "What exactly are you trying to do?"

His gaze burned with fury, evidently outraged by Song Xuan’s violent outburst toward Ji Yu.

Song Xuan felt a sting across her cheek, her eyes full of despair as she stared at Gu Qixiao. "It’s her face, isn’t it, Xiao? If my face looked as beautiful as hers, would you look at more often?"

She had already convinced herself this was the reason, leaving no room for any other explanation.

Ji Yu glanced at the few strands of hair that had been yanked loose, her eyes brimming with fury. She might not care about several other matters, but this—tampering with her hair—was a serious offense she couldn’t possibly ignore.
