’Well what do I do now?’ I suddenly realized that I had nothing to do while I waited for Emma to get back.
"I’m bored already...." I let out a small sigh and walked over to the window before leaning on the edge.
My eyes took a second to get used to the blinding sun but eventually I saw the empty street outside. I had only planned to look for a second and find sothing to do but eventually I noticed a figure from below, My eyes moved down and landed on a head of golden blond hair that belonged to my older sister.
"Ha..." I let out another sigh of regret seeing Emma walking down the driveway while staring at her phone.
She walked steadily despite staring at her phone like she had eyes on top of her head as she turned left and her way onto the side walk. I pulled back from the window intending to cure my boredom sohow but I paused when I noticed Emma turning once again.
"Huh?" I was left confused as I saw her walk down the driveway of our new neighborhoods house.
"Why is she...?" I muttered in confusion and watched as she stepped onto the porch before ringing the door bell.
’She said she had sothing to do so why did she go next door?’ I got closer to the window to the point that my nose was almost against the glass.
Emma was still looking at her phone as she waited while tapping her foot but it wasn’t long until the front door opened. My eyes instantly landed on an old man with silky silver hair and wrinkled skin that stepped outside, Our new neighbor Chester smiled at Emma and his mouth moved although i couldn’t hear what he was saying.
Emma wasn’t present when Chester ca over to introduce himself so I was quite surprised that they seed acquainted to so degree. Emma rolled her eyes showing her usual level of annoyance as her lips moved as well, I had no clue what they were taking about as they exchanged a few words but eventually Chester reached into his jacket pocket and pulled sothing out.
"Money?" My eyes went wide seeing a thick wad of cash that was a few inches thick.
I could see Emma’s eyes sparkle from all the way up here as she snatched it from the old man’s hands. My elder sister unfolded the bills and counted them while Chester watched in silence, After a few seconds Emma smiled before shoving the money into her pocket and walking past Chester without acknowledging him. She disappeared inside the open door leaving only Chester who moved his gaze around the street before going back inside and closing the door.
"What kind of shady interaction was that!" I was flabbergasted by the scene that looked like a shady drug deal.
"Why did Chester give her so much money and why did she go in his house?" I blinked trying to rack my brain around what I just saw only to be left with nothing.
"Is he paying her to help them unpack or sothing?" I muttered before imdiately shaking my head knowing my elder sister would never do sothing that required so much work.
"....." I stared at the closed door for a few seconds in silence until my curiosity got the best of .
"Should I go see?" I thought out loud keeping my gaze locked onto my neighbors house.
’I have to wait for Emma to co back before we watch the movie anyway....’ I was already bored and had nothing to do not to ntion I was insanely curious.
’Let’s go...’ I pushed myself away from the window and walked out of my room with furrowed eyebrows.
The house was still empty as I made my way downstairs as quickly as I could before going out the front door. The blazing sun instantly glared down on making hesitate before my curiosity won and I closed the door behind . I didn’t walk down the driveway but instead went across the grass and down the middle of the two houses, I didn’t want to be seen in the front peaking inside so I chose the back where trees blocked the view.
