Two days prior..
Aiden was sitting at lunch in the school cafeteria, that housed more students compared to the first few days.
Since most of them had been feasting for the past two months, and the food served in the cafeteria wasn’t so bad, it was almost a refreshing change in their daily routine eating there.
Aiden was in a table alone, but the other mbers of his group soon arrived.
The first one to sit beside him was Grant, followed by a pretty girl with red hair, and an elegant and dignified beauty, whose face was covered in green because of her eyes and her hair.
When they were all in place and eating, Grant had the chance to speak about sothing he wanted to tell them for a while.
"Hey guys, I caught news of an interesting event in two days, anyone wanna co with ?"
The girl with red hair paled, aware of the troublemaker nature of Grant.
Trying to close the discussion as early as possible, she replied: "no thank you, you can go alone if you really want to"
However, as if she didn’t exist, grant asked once again to Aiden:
"So? Do you want to co"
"Hey don’t you dare ignore !"
Butted in the girl.
"Hm, I don’t know, what is this all about?"
"Our seniors are going to battle it out with the mage class students, and many of the second class mbers are going there secretly to watch"
’ the mage class? Aren’t those brother Hans’ students?
If that’s the case then..
"Do you think Aiden is as reckless as you!! He would never go just to watch a brawl, give it up"
"I’ll go"
"Huh? But wh-
She was cut off once again by Grant, that switched target this ti.
"What do you think Luna?" He asked.
"I don’t really care" replied the girl that had been quiet till then.
"Two against one and one abstaining, it seems like the victors are clear"
"But.. the academy prohibits the students from using their powers outside of official events or classrooms.
That ans that their fight is illegal, and if we go there to spectate then we’ll probably be dragged in as well."
However Grant was already walking away with his arm around Aiden’s shoulders.
Waving her off with the other hand.
"Ah who cares, rules are only valid if you get caught"
"This fu-
haaaaaa"
She took a deep breath and gave up the thought of changing their minds.
That discussion led to the current situation:
About twenty second class students ca out of the bushes, and greeted their upperclassn.
Grant even respectfully bowed his head:
"Good evening senior, we are mbers of class two, we have co here just to spectate, I hope you don’t mind us"
"Has anyone followed you?!" Asked the big guy that was about to face off against David.
"No, we have been really careful to avoid getting any attention"
"Good, then go and stand behind the other classmates, or I won’t be able to guarantee your safety during the fight"
"Alright"
Grant took the initiative to go and hide behind the seniors of class ones, and Aiden of course followed him, together with all the other students who had gathered.
When all the younger mbers were safe, the first battle started.
To make the first move was David’s opponent, that dashed forward throwing a punch.
He didn’t have any equipnt apart from the iron gloves that he was wearing, they weren’t normal, seemingly containing a spell of so sorts.
’His punch, it’s slow, slowed compared to teacher’s one’
But as David was thinking that, the speed of the attack suddenly increased, becoming too fast for him to avoid.
To evade it, he tilted his head, and the gloves managed to slightly scratch his cheek.
The atmosphere had changed, the last attack was aid to gravely injuring if not killing him, and David definitely wasn’t going to let that slide.
"Did you just try to kill ?" Asked the guy in a superior tone.
"So what if I did? I doubt anyone would even noti-" a knee ca right onto his nose, making it bleed before he could finish his sentence.
In an attempt to gain back the advantage, the guy dashed forward once again, this ti attacking from below.
"You fuck-
Before he could finish, he was once again interrupted by David’s punch, that hit the middle of his face.
"It hurts you f*cking b*tch, is playing dirty by hitting my nose all you can do?"
However, faking being unable to attack, he waited for David’s guard to lower, and attacked at the mont he thought was the best.
However, this ti David didn’t get himself caught by surprise.
He completely blocked the hit before it could even speed up, avoiding any possible dangers.
"Did you really think that the sa attack would work twice?
Since i know about your weapon’s hidden wind spell then don’t even think of getting out of here as a winner."
"Now that I think about it, why is it that you’re already using underhanded thods to attack while I’m not even showcasing my magic?
Are you that scared of ?
If that’s the case I’ll tell you a secret.
You were right being so scared."
A green mana covered his arms and his legs, as he closed the distance between him and his opponent leisurely walking.
Not a chance to see, not a chance to parry, not a chance to evade.
Not leaving the opponent any of those, he dashed forward,
And all the mbers who knew about him ca to the sa conclusion:
"The fight is over"
Indeed, with that blow the opponent was sent flying, almost resembling David himself the first day in the magic class.
"One of the two is unconscious, the winner has been determined"
A couple of cheers and encouragents ca from the mages side, and the class two students couldn’t help but admire the incredible power showed during the match.
In the distance, Hans and Caleb had also seen everything.
’That’s my student right there!
If I think about how he was at the beginning…
He had terrible control over his spells, and was really arrogant, fortunately for him, talent was the last thing he was lacking.
His fighting style is the sa as a warrior’s, but he uses spells to enchant his blows, even if he can use many spells, the one he is most accustod with is the wind elent, that fastens his punches and kicks.
When he first began training two months ago, he could only use this spell on his right arm, but he can now use it on all four his limbs, aning that not only he can increase his attack speed in battle, but also his running speed.
A truly useful ability if used in the right way.’
However, while he was thinking, the slight killing intent of soone broke his focus, beside him, Caleb was pretty furious.
’These guys… you challenge another class, you bring equipnt in battle while they don’t have weapons, and you still manage to lose.
I ask myself if you really have no sha or if so of the honor you should have is still left.
In the crowd, Aiden watched David amazed.
Current score:
mage class-1
Warrior-0
The next fighters stepped out, and faced each other.
Claire rejoiced seeing her opponent,
"Hehe, so it’s you, I guess I won’t feel bad hitting that ugly face of yours"
In front of her, was the girl she had previously almost brawled with.
The other also didn’t spare any insults, replying:
"I’m sure you won’t even get close to my face, it would be a cri, I can’t say the sa about yours though, maybe a few hits would fix it up a bit"
"Hahaha, you sure are funny for an ugly wench"
"Let’s see if you’ll find so funny after the match ends"
The two teams had to intervene to actually start the match, instead of letting the flaming continue.
"Ready… fight!"
Claire cast a wind arrow, shooting it forward, even if the opponent avoided it, it still pierced trough the treee behind her.
’What a destructive power!’ Though the other woman, scared of ending up just like the plant.
’However.. let’s see how you will cast a spell now’
After evading, she closed onto Claire, that didn’t manage to cast another spell yet.
She gripped her dagger firmly, and went in for a strike.
’Take this you bish..
what.. is happening right now?’
She couldn’t see straight, her vision beca blurry and her legs gave out.
As her eyes covered in blood, she realized:
’My head? How? … when?’
She fainted.
"That’s what you get for provoking stupid girl"
Snorted Claire, turning around and walking away.
She had just punched the girl’s head, and that was apparently enough to make her faint.
In a tree about a hunder tres away…
"Hans you… are you sure you’re a magic teacher and not a physical trainer?"
Asked Caleb in all seriousness.
