"You dared drink alcohol!" a nacing pressure was emanating from Hans’s body, as he cracked his knuckles.

"How about I show you… why it is not good to be drunk"

Aiden was beaten to a pulp, to the point where if anyone else had witnessed the scene, they might’ve mistaken it for an abusive act, instead of forming experience.

..

Aiden was currently resting in Hans’ bed, and he was seated on his chair watching the young man’s face.

’Have I failed as an instructor?

I haven’t taught him anything yet, he’s so young and he’s already going around drinking alcohol.

I originally planned to let him advance to {master alchemist} as soon as I could.

But seeing it from a different perspective now, it might be a wrong decision leaving a unique class to a kid that still doesn’t know how to contain his desires.

Life has been rough on him, if he were to succumb to so evil thoughts and use his powers for malice, then it would partially be my fault.

I will have to wait a little bit more before proceeding with his advancent.

’Hum?’ Aiden opened his eyes, with a bit of saliva still falling down from the corner of his mouth.

’Where am I? I have never seen this place.

mhhhh, if I’m not incorrect I had just finished theory lesson about geographical environnt in the gates, when Grant offered to go and get a drink with his friends…

Aiden had followed him just to get along with him a bit better, but with the premise of returning before six o’clock since he had howork to do.

Grant brought him to a little local down the street, and passed through the back door to reach a private room where so of their friends were waiting.

They were two guys and four girls, aning that with Aiden and Grant males and females were even.

Soon, the drinks arrived, however, contrary to the ones he was used to, every one of them was alcoholic.

He initially wanted to refuse, but as they begun speaking about the professors and conversation got more interesting, he felt a strong sense of group, and didn’t want to be the only one that didn’t drink.

’A couple of glasses of beer couldn’t hurt that much right?’

Drinking one after the other, his sight beca a little fuzzy, and feeling quite disoriented he asked if he could return earlier.

Grant didn’t insist and accompanied him close to his dormitory before seeing him off.

And then….

"Brother!"

Aiden quickly lift up his upper body and looked around for Hans.

He found him seated on the chair just beside him.

"My dear Brother… I think you might have so explaining to do"

Sounding more like a threat than an affirmative phrase, it made Aiden shiver.

"I-I’ll tell you everything"

"I don’t usually do any of these things, is just that this ti I let myself be a little bit overwheld by the situation, since Grant asked I couldn’t refu..

He explained the whole story, and after listening to Aiden, Hans wanted to crush this ’Grant’ guy skull.

"How did he even have alcohol? This whole place has been constructed for you, and only a few bars sell alcohol, they know the list of people who are allowed to buy it, is any of them perhaps bribed? Or is he importing it from outside?

But that’s not sothing that wouldn’t go unnoticed.."

"It’s none of the two brother"

Affird Aiden trying to repent for his mistakes.

"Uh? Then how?"

"Apparently one of the workers at the school is trying to make a good impression on him to get on his good side.

"Why? Is he an important person or sothing?"

"Well… Aiden stuttered a bit

… how to say it.. he personally is not, but his father, he is one of the higher ups in the demon extermination team."

’Demon extermination team.

I have read about them, they are incredibly powerful hunters, who take care of all the tricky gates outside of living areas.

If a city defense departnt takes care of eliminating the monsters in their own city, and limiting to help other places to whether they have an established alliance, the Demon extermination team clears gates all over the nation.

They travel in faraway places were cities do not have hunters powerful enough to clear gates, and differently from in big cities, monsters are a continuous threat for the civilians.

They don’t receive any reward from the inhabitants of the places they save, and they also leave the territory the monster’s corpses and mana stones to help them recover from any damages.

Even while receiving an annual fee from the governnt, their earnings are less than those of low rank hunters.

In a few words, they are the closest being to superheroes in the Arican society.

Not materialistic, not attached to desires, they slay monsters and save lives, as if that was their life purpose.

If a gods does exist, then it is them who would be their closest ally.

’Or that’s what they say, I haven’t seen them for myself so I’m not in a position to judge.

Anyway, they should be so pretty amazing people, so how co that one of their son is already drinking alcohol at the age of fourteen and even convincing a pure soul like my brother to do it’

" anyway don’t you ever dare do that again"

"Yes"

Before Hans could even finish his lecture, Aiden’s stomach rumbled loudly.

"Did you not eat during the past few days?"

Asked Hans.

"That’s not it brother, just that the PE. Teacher is really going all out with training, I can’t even sustain my own body since I have one of his lessons every day.

"Okay then, let’s go eat sothing"

"Now? What ti is it brother?"

"Three in the morning"

"What?!!"

" I told you drinking isn’t good for your body, you passed out for a whole eighth hours"

’Are you sure that’s not because of how hard you hit ?’

Thought Aiden to himself while inevitably following behind Hans and heading out.

They walked to a place that Aiden could recognize from outside.

It was the Pizza Hut, that was strangely open 24/7.

"Brother they say that pizza is just as bad as alcohol and smok-"

"Bang"

Hans hit Aiden in the head.

"Silly brat, pizza is the best creation of human kind, how could it be as bad as alcohol and smoke"

"It is just those who cannot appreciate it and put terrible things like pineapple and fries on it that say such dumb statents"

"Yes yes"

Aiden finally understood the trick to avoid getting hit, he just had to agree with all the senseless things said by Hans.

During the night, they talked about what had appende in the first few days of school, and Aiden understood why he wasn’t seeing his brother at all.

After all, he only attended physical education, science, civic education, and history classes, so seeing Hans who taught magic was quite unlikely.

They both stayed up till 4am. ssing up their sleep schedules for the next few days.

A day, a week, a month…

Two months later:

Staying in his room, Hans was diligently ditating.

A wave of absurdly pure energy ca from him.

As he opened his eyes, the energy that was previously dispersed throughout the whole room gathered once again inside his body, becoming quieter than ever.

His unique amber eyes gave off the feeling of a profound ocean, whose depth was far beyond sight..

He clenched his fist gently.

"Finally, my strength.. I finally managed to get it all back"
