Hans was tired of having to ask everything, he was sure there was a reason why Emma was bringing him there, so he decided to follow her.

"Could you wait here? I’ll be back right quick, stay in this two-ter zone, there aren’t any caras that’ll catch you here.

Hans nodded, as he waited, he sat on an old wooden bench that had almost lost its green color.

Just like any normal teenager would pull out his phone out of boredom, Hans decided to call out Caelan.

He explained a few of the things that had happened to him, and Caelan was surprised to hear them.

"I see… I thought it was strange that you had never heard of an apostle, or a saint, because they usually tend to be really famous, in my world the apostle of the goddess lived in a remote location, but many believers went around spreading the religion to civilians and soldiers.

Even these low-ranking believers received a minuscule blessing, so they were equipped with a bit of power, that stood as a reference for how powerful the saints were, they perford many generous acts for the people of low status, without even asking for paynt, so their reputation and the goddess’ were always increasing.

So the reason why you were ignorant about these things is… because the gods have made an agreent regarding your world…

How strange, for beings like the gods to have to make a pact over a single world."

Caelan reasoned, and Hans followed the sa trail of thought.

Hans also thought it was strange, and was dying to find out why it was like that, his curiosity was acting up, even against his priorities….

"Sigh…"

’I don’t know anything else, and now I’ve got even more questions’

His pessimistic thinking was interrupted by Caelan:

"However, what happened to you allows us to deduct one thing… the plain of darkness has a high level of ’clearance’ just like the girl called it.

Even if we spoke about certain things, which in your world made that ter go down, we didn’t feel any setback or receive any punishnt, last ti however, when I tried to talk to you, I felt like sothing was stopping .

It seems like even the dark plain has a limit for now, and if we pass that limit, then we will receive a punishnt even inside there."

"Yes, I think you’re right."

Hans, who was seated on the bench looking in the distance, turned his head all of a sudden:

"Do you mind if I call you out later?"

"No, no, it seems like you’ve got enough going on at the mont"

"Alright, see you later"

Hans had felt Emma’s presence as she was headed towards the exit of the building.

’Now let’s see why this fox brought here’

He couldn’t help but comnt.

He sensed another presence beside her and decided to focus on one thing at a ti.

Emma walked out of the front door with a joyous look on her face, behind her was an old man.

His body was still that of a strong person, even though all the hair on his head was already white.

His deep brown eyes gave off a feeling of being fiery and fierce.

He asured about a ter and seventy-five, maybe a little more, maybe a little less.

As he walked, he held a doubtful expression while watching Emma in front of him.

Emma walked up to the bench where Hans was resting and then turned around.

"Here he is… I told you I brought your grandson"

’What?! Grandson?!’

Hans imdiately sharpened his gaze and observed Emma suspiciously.

’What is she trying to play?!’

But as the girl moved away, the old man crossed gazes with Hans, and sothing happened inside him, just as if he didn’t have control of his face anymore.

It looked like his emotions took over his face.

His eyes widened as if he had seen a ghost, and his wrinkles accentuated his expression even more.

His mouth was slightly agape as he observed the young man’s face.

Thirty seconds… a whole thirty seconds… that is the ti the old man stared into Hans’ eyes, petrified at the sole sight of him.

It looked like tears were about to spill out from his eyes when he turned around.

In a not-so-convinced voice, he said:

"It is true that this young man resembles him, but he isn’t my grandchild.

Don’t ever try to pull sothing like this ever again, and if I catch you hurting anyone innocent…"

The insecure and low-volu tone he was speaking at imdiately vanished, and a threatening deep one took its place:

"… then I’ll root you out of your secure ground, and make sure you rot forever in prison, never to be seen ever again"

As he said those words, a strange aura emanated from the old man, it felt like standing in front of an old tiger, tired but ready for everything that could co its way.

The old man then walked away, his shoulders were slightly lowered compared to when he first appeared, and his footsteps were shuffled.

Hans watched him walk away, and out of curiosity, he decided to peek at his status window:

Hans remained stunned, his breathing got deeper, and little beads of sweat ford on his forehead… he felt his heart thumping in his chest as he observed the man enter the building.

"So? What do you say? A good surprise isn’t it?"

Emma asked.

Hans had managed to glance at the old man’s status window… but he didn’t read anything other than the first line…

’His surna... It’s the sa as mom’s…

And his na is the one she always told …

I… spent all that ti alone, thinking no one I could rely on existed when… my grandfather was alive.’

"He is… really my grandfather"

"Huh? You can tell?"

Emma was quite surprised to hear this, she thought Hans wouldn’t believe it, but he recognized the old man so quickly.

"But… why didn’t he recognize ?"

He asked Emma since she always acted like she had every answer.

"He did"

She replied.

’He… did?’

...

In the anti, sowhere in Europe, an old man massaged his temples as he heard the elevator coming up.

Then, he sighed as the sound of a man’s steps headed his way.

’What is it now? I’m tired from tonight’s shift, and I barely got thirty minutes of sleep…’

Before the hand of the person outside the door could knock on the wood, the old man said:

"Co on in"

The door opened, and a man entered the room with a worried expression on his face.

"You again?"

Asked the old man.

"Yes, I wanted to report an anomaly"

"Anomaly? Do you still not know where Hans Richter is?"

"No we… that’s one thing, but sothing else happened."

The man, who had laid his arm on the armrest, raised it once again and pinched the bridge of his nose, between his two eyes.

He was prepared for whatever headache might co his way.

"The satellite that was keeping in check Gianfranco Maglini…. Its connection got… cut off.

"Sigh…."

"What can we do?"

The old man asked, not asking for advice but for a more detailed report.

"A third satellite is available for monitoring the zone, but we are thinking that it would just end up in the sa way, also, most of our caras around the Italian defense team headquarters have been deactivated, so we fear soone might be trying to get the two of them together."

"Soone in Italy who has enough power to do that, and has the ability to shield themselves from all our ans of observation…

It’s them, isn’t it?"

"Yes…

we fear that…

the Night Market might be the one moving the pieces on the board this ti around-"
