{body propulsion}(A-rank)

"Body propulsion…. With that size?!"

As Hans’s focus switched from the boss monster to the newly appeared crab, he also noticed sothing else…

Erging from the sea, and walking toward the shore, hundreds of crabs were making their way toward the king beneath the young man’s feet.

A bead of sweat ford on his forehead as he observed the scene, but it didn’t take long for him to regain composure.

’I see… I had misunderstood this gate’s type from the very beginning.

It’s not a challenge-type gate… but an arena-type one, where all the monsters co at you at the sa ti, and you have nowhere to hide.

That’s fine too… it’ll just save ti.

First of all… I have to get rid of this one!’

Hans knew that the king crab’s blessing would’ve caused a lot of trouble if he hadn’t gotten rid of it at that mont, so he prioritized finishing off what he had started.

He crouched once again and touched the boss’s exoskeleton, ready to cast the {perma-freeze} a second ti, however, before his mana could even start freezing the crab’s body, the Giant crab standing in front of him used its {body propulsion} to stop him.

Hans was interrupted and forced to get rid of the giant crab before he could take care of the boss.

"If you’re so eager to die… then I’ll grant your wish"

Hans opened his arms and clapped his hands violently, alongside the use of his skill:

{telekinesis}

The unstoppable force caused by the clash of his telekinesis squished the animal to death, giving Hans the peace to continue what he was doing.

Since most of the boss’s body had already been frozen, Hans decided to apply pressure on it and break the frozen exoskeleton, and he did that by casting the powerful spell:

{fire bomb}(tier-6)

In just a few seconds, an enormous mass of fire was created over Hans’s head, and its size continued growing, almost equaling the one of the boss beneath, who was still trying to free itself from the sand.

All of a sudden, the fire that had been growing disappeared, or to better say, was condensed into a little sphere no bigger than a tennis ball.

This sphere levitated above Hans’s palm who had been focusing on it for a while.

Even though the spell had already been completed, the young man did not let go of it imdiately and instead waited for a more productive use of it.

When a couple of monts later, many other giant crabs used their {body propulsion} skill, to attack him, Hans disappeared, dashing away and leaving behind that little ball.

The spell gently fell to the ground like a feather would, but as soon as it touched the boss’s exoskeleton, it erupted into an enormous explosion.

Even Hans, who had been running away the fastest he could for the last few seconds, even helping himself with {repulsion} to get as far as possible, didn’t co out of the giant explosion unscathed.

[you have killed a giant crab]

[you have killed a giant crab]

[you have killed…

[you have leveled up]

His vision was crowded by the countless ssages that popped up.

"That’s good but… how co that fucker is still alive?"

The boy glanced in the distance, seeing through the cloud of dust and sand raised by the explosion that had just happened, and saw the titanic beast still moving.

When the dust dissipated, the sight was clear… even with half of its body blown off, the boss seed to be still alive.

"Talk about being though..."

Hans was ready to dash towards it and attack once again, but he was stopped by another swarm of giant crabs that began erging from the sea.

anwhile… sothing was happening right outside the gate.

The reporters that had settled down in the vicinity of the gate to take a few photos of Hans when he ca out of the gate, and maybe ask him a few questions, noticed a group of people coming towards them.

"Hey… what is that?"

One of the reporters asked while eating a sandwich and pointing to sowhere in the distance.

Following the trajectory pointed by the man’s finger, the others who had been waiting beside him turned their heads around.

"Huh? I don’t see anything?"

"What do you an, there’s definitely a group of people…"

"Nah dude, you must’ve been working for too long, take a break for a while"

"Hey! Do you think I’m hallucinating or sothing?! There’s definitely a group of people and they’re coming closer"

"Yeah, yeah dude alright"

Replied the other.

However, confirming that the young reporter wasn’t just hallucinating was the exclamation of a middle-aged woman who seed to work with them:

"I think... Jhon might be right this ti Carl"

"Uh? What do you an?"

"It’s a group of people, and they’re definitely coming here"

"What?!"

Chatter arose amongst the reporters as the group of people closed on to the portal, and as ti passed, the little figures in the distance transford into proper people.

"Th-they’re?!"

Another one completed the shocked man’s phrase:

"They’re the Twilight guild!!"

Everyone turned their caras toward the incoming guild, and so reporters abandoned their posts to get closer to the group and ask a couple of questions.

"Mr. Anderson, why is the guild’s first team here right now?"

"Mr. Anderson? Is the Twilight Guild planning to go back on their words"

The guild leader was imdiately surrounded by the reporters, and the sa happened to the vice leader:

"Mr. rcer, what do you think about this morning’s public debate?"

"Mr. rcer, was the guild leader talking for everyone when he said you would stay out of the matter, or did he just speak by himself?"

"Mr. rcer, what do you think about the person who entered the gate?"

"Mr…

A lot of questions were asked, but only two replies ca from the two n.

The first one ca from the vice guild leader, rcer, who announced:

"Of course, whenever our leader speaks he also talks for us, we know he makes the best decisions, and we are ready to follow him wherever he intends to go"

Countless flashes were blinding the man while he spoke, but he still kept a serious and solemn face.

After he said that, the second answer ca out of Anderson’s mouth:

"We are not here to go back on our words, but instead to uphold what we promised…

We will defend the city in case the association branch were to fail the gate raid, and since they have already seemingly given up on it, we will take this matter into our own hands."

"What?! Mr. Anderson, are you sure about what you’ve just said?"

"Mr, Anderson, I’m sorry to remind you that the association’s helper, Hans Richter, has entered the gate, your guild should not be allowed to continue any further"

"That’s right Mr. Anderson, even if the Twilight Guild has always protected the citizens and the city, we think this matter should be left for the association branch to handle."

This was a provocative phrase told by the reporters to get so reaction out of him, and it worked just as it was supposed to:

The pale elegant man standing in front of all those reporters didn’t seem to flinch in the slightest, as if he had nerves of steel.

’Let the association branch handle it… I would like to do that.

It would be easy and the city wouldn’t run any danger, unfortunately…’

"You don’t truly believe that person will co out of the gate, do you?"

That sole phrase left the whole crowd speechless.

"Would you… mind explaining what you an by that Mr. Anderson"

"An A-rank gate is akin to disaster, no man apart from the SS-rank hunters can clear such gates alone.

To my knowledge, now that Mr. Elijah has retired, none of the US awakened are capable of handling such a threat by themselves.

Even if gifted and capable, it hurts to say that even Hans Richter will not be able to clear it, you have all seen him struggle just to clear a B-rank gate break."

’ too… I also thought for a mont that the association branch might’ve had a chance at making it when I saw Hans.

But for those fools to throw their opportunities away…’

"One of the great differences between A-rank gates and lower-ranked ones is that they’re especially troubleso to face alone...

and that’s because of their ridiculous numbers.

Even if all the gates have a certain amount of monsters, that are not influenced by the gate rank, when a gate is A-rank or above, in case the battle is not a single-boss fight, that would imply having to duel a monster standing at least at the peak of S-rank, the amount of monsters is simply… out of hand.

You have seen it in the last A-rank gate break that happened on the outskirts of our city:

The amount of trolls, which would’ve been considered boss monsters in any other B-rank gate, was uncontrollable…."
