He had finally made it to the top….

Just a couple of steps, and he would’ve found out what lay on that mysterious mountain.

But before he could take those last steps, a voice halted his movents.

"Stop.

Have you finally decided to destroy this place?

If so you shouldn’t have sent this aningless insect here to disturb .

I shall spare his life since he took care of sothing I should’ve done myself long ago, but it won’t happen again.

Co in person if you want this place!!!

Haven’t you played enough tricks already?!

I may not be under her highness anymore, but don’t you dare disrespect my authority!

Now be gone! Don’t show yourself again"

A strange force, that had been keeping Hans in place during the whole speech, pushed him off the cliff of the mountain, into the air.

He was now falling to the feet of the mountain

He was tired…

"Pant.. Pant…"

His face was deford by the air pressure, but keeping his eyes as open as possible he could see that he was about to enter the blizzard once again.

The winds were still strong up there, but there wasn’t any mana that forbade him from casting spells, so if he wanted to survive that fall in one piece, he would have to stop himself before reaching the clouds.

He couldn’t tell how many seconds he had, but every ti he managed to open his eyes, the blizzard seed to be closer and closer.

’I have to do it now!’

He gathered all the mana he could, even if his body was unconditionally spinning around, pushed by the winds.

His telekinesis wasn’t strong enough to stop the fall in ti, so the only other choice he had was to repel himself toward the mountain, in the hope of grappling onto sothing and keep himself up there.

He released the spell {repulsion}, which looked as if he had shot a wind cannon toward the side, and his body, just like when he used it to evade the beast’s attack the previous day, was thrown on the opposite side.

It was supposed to be used to repel others or things, but he ended up only using it to move himself quickly.

His back was smashed against the ice wall with such strength that it created a little hole.

Immobilized after the fall, Hans felt like throwing up, while he watched the sun in the distance set.

’Shit.

That was dangerous.

That thing up there… I wonder if it’s even possible to beat it.’

"I wonder how Hans’s doing"

Said Caleb to Lily, who was lying just beside him in bed.

"Right?! He disappeared yesterday night, and today he hasn’t returned once.

I wonder If he got in so kind of trouble.

Shouldn’t we help him? Maybe create an expedition with the strongest mbers"

"I thought so too, but if Hans can’t do it, then none of us can"

"Are you so sure about his powers? I an I did see it in the video, but he only managed to kill that devil because of the lava beneath the fight, didn’t he?"

"It might be as you say, but there was sothing that wasn’t shown even in the video"

"Uh? What are you talking about?"

"Who do you think was the first to fight that monster?"

"I don’t know, was it the Japanese dean?"

"No, both he and I got there a dozen minutes after the fight started.

But when we arrived, soone was holding it in place, fighting one on one with it."

"Are you telling …"

"Yes, Hans was fighting with that monster alone.

And it doesn’t end there, he was fighting like a warrior and a mage at the sa ti, moving so swiftly that even I had difficulties following him.

It might be just speculation for now, but I’m pretty sure that Hans’s body is at least as strong as mine."

"As strong as yours… you an not only he’s the youngest seventh-tier mage, but he’s also an S-rank warrior?"

"I think so"

"Ha…Haha… that’s crazy, isn’t it?

It makes you feel powerless."

"No! On the contrary, it’s thanks to him that I’ve grown so much.

I can feel it, it won’t take long to surpass the S-rank"

"Nice for you, my magic’s been stuck at the peak of the fifth tier for almost an entire year now"

"I’ll ask Brother Hans for a bit of help when we get out of here alright?"

"No, I would be too embarrassed, we should think about getting out of here first"

"Yes, yes"

They both went to bed, laying in the cozy sleeping bag while Hans wasn’t wasting any ti and had already started climbing the mountain once again, even if the temperature had plumted during the night.

In the anti, the whole world was curious about the raid’s outco.

Having fild the ssage after a long and tiring day, the signs of fatigue on their faces couldn’t be hidden by so simple editing, and people all around the world began wondering whether or not they would’ve made it out of there alive.

But as the basis for the hypothesis that they would’ve co out without any problems, was the replay of Hans annihilating a gigantic group of yetis with a single spell.

The dark had already taken over the sky when Hans finally made it back up to the top of the mountain.

Once again, however, the voice stopped his movents before he could take the few final steps.

"Ignorant slave!

If you so much wish for death to grab hold of you, then co!

I shall deliver you to her myself"

’Pant… pant…’

The oxygen was scarce, but Hans had no way other than up.

He had to see what lay up there, he had to know why his powers were resonating with that place.

It was almost a bet with destiny, but whatever was residing up there seed to not have much power left.

It spoke quite quickly, not wasting any words to understand his intention and never truly tried to harm him, as if the power it could use was limited.

He took the last few steps, reaching the top.

There, the only thing he could see was a frozen palace, kept up by beautiful ice pillars,

But without any walls, making it easy for Hans to see what was inside.

Opposite the entrance was a sacrificial altar, but it was broken, and just beside it resided a throne, on which a hooded figure was seated.

’A human?!

No…. That is… ’

"…A skeleton?"

"Do not call that, slave"

"Slave? What part of makes you think I’m a slave?"

"Do not feign ignorance slave, has your master finally decided to attack this place?

Because If she did, I would recomnd preparing her head on a silver plate.

It’s already been hundreds of years since you’ve lost to .

Even if she did that little gate trick to weaken , you know I will not go down without a fight"

Hans had no idea what that skeleton was talking about, but if he understood sothing, it was that his initial hypothesis was right.

Now that the monster was speaking more, the pressure had stopped aning it could not maintain it for the whole speech.

"I co here without any Ill intentions, my only wish is for the gate under this mountain to be closed"

"Hahahah….

The audacity you have is… annoying.

But you sure found a nice way to say you want dead!"

Hans could feel sothing coming, he couldn’t see it, and he didn’t know what it was, but he knew it was coming.

His body moved instinctively as if evading an incoming attack.

And just an instant later, Hans saw a block of ice form where he was previously standing.

"You aren’t bad for a slave"

’This was supposed to be used on her, but even if I used it, in the state I am in right now it wouldn’t even scratch her skin.

I will at least take her servant down with .’
