The pill rushed down his throat, and for a few seconds, his body didn’t have any reaction.
Little did he know, he was currently starting sothing he could’ve never foretold, the start of the Japanese academy’s fall, as the loss of his humanity, all began in that mont.
While his body began to feel the first effects of the drug, and his mind capacity was already slowly becoming inebriated, Hans was watching him from the floor above, with eyes full of disgust.
’What was that? Did he take a pill of so sort?
What kind of drug does it have to be for him to be reacting like that?"
Asked Hans watching the man contort on the grey floor.
’This…
As the man’s body started overheating and becoming red, the pupils in his eyes left, rolling back with the rest of the eye.
’I have seen this thing before!’
Was what ca to mind to Hans at that mont.
And he was right, he had already seen this kind of people, it hadn’t even passed that much ti, so rembering who it was wasn’t really difficult.
’This is the sa condition the intruder at the Arican Academy had, that monstrous man who managed to win against Caleb thanks to a certain drug, was that the sa one he ate right now?
Does that an he’s part of the red tyranny?
it’s always them isn’t it?’
"I’ll make an example out of you for your dear companions.
don’t you dare co after ever again"
A lump of fire was created from Hans’s gathered mana, and it was then launched toward the man.
{fire bomb}(tier-5)
It was a new spell Hans had obtained in his last days of training, and the impact of such a powerful spell shook the whole academy, almost like an earthquake.
A blaze rose up from the hole in the floor, scaring the students, and producing a strong enough heat to free the ones under the {partial freeze} spell.
Finally free from the ice’s grasp, and with their mories of what had happened, the first to wake up were Hans’s two students.
They were scared, grateful, and angry.
But most of all, a question was stamped into their minds:
’Has teacher... Always been this strong?’
Even if they were only two years apart one from the other, Hans could already easily cast fifth-ranked spells, while they were trying their best to improve their third circle.
It was demotivating to think about.
Right after them, the mbers of the expedition team sent inside the building by the Japanese Academy finally awakened, and even with their mories as clear as glass, it was still difficult to believe what they had witnessed.
’I, a sixth-tier mage… couldn’t even resist a second against an opponent who is now taking a beating from a kid’
Was what the leader thought while trying to watch what was happening under the flas.
But Hans could observe it directly:
When the flas began to subside, a horrifying creature erged from the almost lting floor, scratching the concrete with the claws it had grown on its feet.
Its head was red, and its thick skin was slightly cracked by the spell Hans had just thrown at him.
It had a humanoid form, but it had no clothes or hair.
Its two legs had beco slim, but its whole body was covered by sothing that looked like an exoskeleton.
An otherworldly scream was heard when the monster opened its mouth.
"Screech!!!"
It looked more like an overgrown insect than a human, but its size and hatred gave away its previous identity.
Shocked, Hans whispered:
"It’s that man"
But without even having the ti to figure out what had happened, the monster appeared in front of him.
’How?! It was almost ten ters away from !
Did it… move ten ters without even noticing?
A punch followed the movent, sending Hans flying out of the window he had previously broken.
"Teacher!"
Scread Logan.
In mid-air, Hans watched underneath him, trying to figure out how to land without taking much damage.
Even if he had a tough body, a fall from such a height would’ve not only hurt like hell but also dealt slight injuries to his internal organs.
But before he could figure out a way to do that, for the second ti in the last few seconds, the monster appeared in front of him.
"Bam!"
A powerful punch was unleashed upon Hans’s offhand parry, smashing him to the ground just beside the building.
He fell under the eyes of Saki and Claire, who had remained outside.
"Hans!"
Scread Claire barely catching a glimpse of her teacher while he was falling.
But before she could reach him, another attack hit his chest, almost shattering his ribs.
The monster had landed with both its feet on Hans’s sternum, leaving him breathless for a couple of seconds.
"Haaa… haaa… haaa…"
A forced and heavy panting could be heard a mist all the created dust.
"That… could’ve killed you damn monster"
’Well… there are no doubts now,
This thing…. It’s above a normal S-rank.’
One of his most used skills: {frost armor} had just saved his life once again.
If it wasn’t for that, his bones would’ve crumbled under the extre pressure created by the falling monster.
Even while staying still, when it was standing on Hans’s chest, Hans felt like he was holding up a truck.
"Hey… it’s… damn… heavy!"
(tier-5) {dragon’s breath}
"Get off"
Exclaid Hans while shooting at the monster a beam of fire strong and fast enough to raze to the ground an entire house.
The monster was imdiately blown backward and planted its clawed feet a couple of centiters into the ground to slow itself down.
After about thirty ters (about 100 feet) the monster hit a building’s wall, cracking it heavily and almost smashing it down.
Only a couple of seconds later did the monster manage to finally get back up from the wall, but it was now Hans’s turn to attack.
Without wasting his chance to get back at it for the attacks he had received, Hans went all out, even if he was in public, he would’ve revealed his skills during the improbable gate raid anyway.
{burning field}(tier-5)
{dragon’s breath}(tier-5)
{typhoon’s eye}(tier-5)
Three incredible spells were unleashed all at once, and fortunately, all the students had already run away, leaving in the zone only Claire and Maki, who had now also retreated quite a bit to avoid getting involved in the fierce fight, otherwise, Hans would’ve found blood on his hands, since four building of the Academy were razed and lted to the ground.
The people in building two watched the fight amazed and risked their deaths since if Hans’s spell had been even a couple dozen ters wider they would’ve been caught up in it.
The incredible surge of heat and mana was also felt by the Academy’s dean and Caleb, who both rushed toward the origin as fast as they could.
It was as if a bomb had been dropped in the middle of the site, the spells, that fused together created sothing close to what would be classified as a top-tier sixth-rank spell, emitted as much light as the early morning sun, and the Academy was subrged into this blinding and chaotic light.
The students, the teachers, the staff. Everyone in the Academy saw the scene, so from afar, while so from dangerously close, it really felt as if their ti in that place was about to co to an end.
"Huff… huff… huff…"
Casting three fifth-rank spells didn’t take up too much of Hans’s mana, but the sa couldn’t be said about his ntal strength.
A sixth-circle mage mind simply isn’t made to sustain the casting of three fifth-tier spells at the sa ti, even a seventh-circle mage would find it difficult.
That is because your mind will have to move an imnse amount of mana, and the resistance that mana has is influenced by the number of circles around a mage’s hearth.
If for a fifth-rank mage casting a fifth-rank spell would be the sa as lifting fifty kilograms, for a sixth-rank mage it would be about half, but lifting three tis the weight isn’t the sa as lifting the sa weight three tis.
Casting three spells at the sa ti allowed Hans to fuse them and obtain higher firepower than casting them separately, but it also put a huge strain upon his mind, which afterward imdiately started to ache.
A crater had ford where the building previously laid, and it reached almost twenty ters( 65ft) in the ground.
It really looked like a teor had landed there, devastating everything.
"Is it dead?" whispered Hans, even if he was asking himself.
"He better be, I certainly can not do sothing like this a second ti for at least half an hour, so if that monster managed to survive it I won’t be able to hold on to my life any further."
But he soon realized:
"I…. Shouldn’t have jinxed it"
The monster walked right out of the middle of the crater, where the ground was fuming.
Hans noticed that other than its exoskeleton being slightly more red, nothing else had changed.
And he then managed to see a few fragnts of a broken mana barrier.
"Shit, I forgot…..
That this bastard was also a mage…"
