’Re-reawakening?’
A hunter’s fate is set the mont he awakens, that was one of the most known and truthful phrases told at the ti.
And it was spot on.
Just as it said, hunters’ salary, fa, and power, would all be determined the mont they awakened.
For example, so newly awakened kids with rare classes, who had maybe only awakened for a couple of years, could face off against veterans who had been doing their jobs for half a dozen years, and without much of a problem.
The reason for that was really simple, while the status of a common class awakened is raised by two stats at every level, the rare ones are raised by three, this might seem like just a difference in status, that can be overco through sheer effort, but it is not, and the reason for that is leveling speed.
The higher the level, the longer it takes for soone to level up, for example, if you had to hunt a hundred level-fifteen monsters to get up to level sixteen, then it would take a hundred and fifty to get up to level seventeen, and maybe two hundred and fifty to get to level eighteen.
This implied that hunting monsters whose levels were lower than yours was simply too ineffective for leveling up.
While common classes had to hunt hundreds or thousands of lower-ranked monsters to level up since they couldn’t defeat monsters on par with their level, rare classes could go toe to toe with monsters on their level, or sotis even higher, making their journey up the ranks a lot smoother, having to hunt way less than common classes.
If, as an example, a common class would take about eighteen months of weekly full-ti hunting and resting to reach level 100, a rare class could reach it in less than a year, not to talk about epic classes, as for Hans... well, he was just in a league of his own.
"Wh-what do you an reawakening? Is sothing like that even possible, and that unique class story? What is that?"
"It is possible, and I know that you are one of the candidates.
Reawakening only exists for unique classes…"
’I think’
"… and just as the na suggests, it is unique, aning no other person can have the sa class as you"
"Weren’t the ranks only common, rare, and epic? Could it be that… unique is what cos after those? In that case, does it an master gained more than four stats at every level?"
"No, it is not a level higher than epic, it’s in a whole other scale.
Unique classes are the rarest classes, and even I, only know of a few who have the potential to beco one, think of these classes like a sentient weapon..."
Hans praised them a bit just to hype up the man, who looked disappointed when hearing that unique classes weren’t more powerful than epic ones.
"…There are many candidates to hold it, but only one will be able to, and that one has to be acknowledged by the weapon.
In the sa way, many are competing for the unique classes right now, and the first one to get to it will be the only winner.
"Then…"
The man gasped, bringing his neck forward and bowing his head to beg Hans for help.
"Please, tell what I need to do, I’ll gladly remain here for the rest of my life if it ans my barriers can reach a higher level than master’s"
"Not so fast, you will have to hear the condition to advance before accepting, you might give up once you do so I’ll tell you first.
The condition to advance is simple in itself, you as a person are the problem."
The man openly looked at Hans annoyed, not knowing if Hans had just been ssing with him all this ti, he didn’t think so up till now because everything he had said made sense, but it was really suspicious for him to know all this.
"Are you just ssing with ?" asked directly Henriksson.
"No, I’m not, It really is you the problem.
The condition for advancing is one: ….
The man breathed in, preparing to hear what would determine the rest of his life.
"… you have to create a barrier, and it has to be…
The strongest amongst the ones you take inspiration from."
"Oh shit. It-it seems like you weren’t lying when you said I was the problem"
"That’s right… will you be able to do it?"
"I can try, do you have an empty room I can use for the next few months?"
"Here are the keys, it’s on the last floor, at the end of the hallway.
Also… don’t try to escape, because we have a load of caras all around the place, finding you will be as easy as drinking a glass of water."
"Of course, where would I even go?"
"You never know"
The man sighed as Hans left the room…
Watching the keys in his hand, and rembering the teachings of his master.
’Will I really be able to do it?
…
Create a better barrier than yours"
It was ti for lunch, and as he walked towards the cafeteria, open only to the teachers, he pondered about what would now happen to Henrikkson.
He had been unusually kind to the stranger, and there was a reason for that.
Henriksson sure was arrogant, and bold, but he had never hurt a fly.
Searching on the net, Hans found out that he had been the one to diate many situations and calm down his master, and he was also the one who raised the pay of the workers of Immortal Construction, who were severely underpaid by the greedy Lans.
Even knowing that, he still only planned on sending him off to the Immortal Construction to cover up the incident, or have him confess their wrongdoings to help when an accusation would’ve been issued regarding the murder of his master, so why did he help him? why did he confess to him how to advance to the unique class?
Sothing was special about that unique class… Hans had first noticed it when analyzing Lans’s status, it held sothing he hadn’t seen for a really long ti…
An entity nad ???
It said: "When his barrier reaches perfection it will be difficult even for a ??? To break it."
This??? Was the sa description the whole world had gotten almost nine years ago when the first monsters appeared.
A flashback made him rember the words floating in front of him:
[??? Has eyed your planet]
Was it talking about the sa entity? It said ’a’, not ’the’, does that an that there are more like that? What even are they? and where even are they?
Anyway, if what the status window said was right, then it ans that a spell grandmaster who has completely perfected his barriers will be able to protect this planet from a possible catastrophe.
Having soone I can control take that power is the best option, if, for example, it ends up in the hands of the Red Tyranny, not only we won’t have any defenses, but it might even create a bigger problem when used wrongly.
Ugh! My mind hurts, so many problems…
Hans just sat down as soon as he could and started eating, but while lost in thoughts, soone sat right in front of him.
She was a pretty lady, her clothes fit her smoothly and her body shapes were harmonious, the only thing out of place was…
Her eye bags almost reached her mouth.
"Yo-you!? Are you Nora?!"
The woman, half asleep, barely holding on to her fork, nodded.
"Wh-what happened to you, is everything alright?"
"Yeah-yeah… just a little tired…" replied a feeble voice that barely reached Hans’s eardrum.
’What happened to her? She almost looks like a zombie, did she get bitten in so kind of gate?’
"Don’t worry about , it is just… since the dean left yesterday I’ve been taking care of her work…
Sniff… sniff… I work all day, and I barely eat, I haven’t been able to relax for almost twenty hours, sniff… sniff… who knew doing the dean was such a difficult task….
I just want to go ho… sniff… sniff… mom… I miss you.
’Ha… ha… people truly change overnight, just a few days ago she looked so bright, and now… ’
"Is there anything I can help with?" asked Hans.
"Yes please, could you take on a task no one wants to do?"
"What is it?"
"Tomorrow the students will depart, and the exchange period with Japan will begin… well, we don’t have a school for them here so it’s not really an exchange but more of a visit…
Anyway, we need soone to accompany them besides Caleb, and all the other teachers have refused to, would you mind?"
"Why do you need two teachers?"
"Caleb will handle the political part, you just have to guard the students for the travel and a couple of days before returning"
"Well… in that case… sure"
"Thank you"
"No problem"
