Following another cliche trope recurring in quite a lot of novels, the author of 'Murim Supremacy' made it so the protagonist's encounter with his counterpart was sothing that he would never forget.
'There you are.'
The reason Leo imdiately picked up the youth's identity was exactly because the scene of Namgung Geochin's infatuation with Yeon had been extrely elaborate. The two of them were bound to be enemies at so point, but he couldn't even take his eyes away from her during his first eting.
'It feels even more forced in-person.'
Just standing next to the protagonist, the genius third-generation student of the Great Mount Hua Sect was staring at him with worry, yet he forgot everything at the sight of soone he t for the first ti.
He didn't get to experience it personally, but Geochin had mories of the ti he and Miyoung had spent together. His great grandfather had brought him here to stay once, creating the link that the young girl never forgot to this day!
"Don't worry, they shouldn't be able to make any more trouble for you."
"Ah, yeah… Thanks again."
Geochin finally broke out of his trance, Miyoung was oblivious to what was going on in his mind, and even he didn't understand what was just that. He only felt that he wanted to go back!
'Where is she?'
As movents within the crowded field shifted by the second, Geochin lost sight of Yeon, but Leo didn't lose sight of him. He still glanced at him every now and then as he fell into thought…
'It's not the ti, but…'
There was no way that he could kill the protagonist with soone like Miyoung standing next to him. Most importantly, managing to do so wasn't exactly in his favor.
Not to ntion the fact that Leo had yet to collect everything that he hoped to take back, the current Geochin didn't deserve to die just yet. In fact, his survival was sothing that the entirety of murim required at so point.
Even if he were to disregard everything with the fact that he would leave anyway, Leo didn't want to part with Yeon either… At least, not when danger was imminent. There was simply no telling what would accurately happen to her with the few things that he had changed here and there.
'We will see.'
Getting rid of the protagonist when he was still in the growing phase was a chance, but the area was full of plot devices that could instantly transform into plot armor. In the end, Leo could only put the decision on hold until he got the chance to face the protagonist.
"Ho."
Noticing his scattered focus, Yeon held onto Leo's arm to shake it off. Looking at her, Leo felt even more lost. Baekho was the one most affected by the ill-fated destiny between her and Geochin, that was one of the things that he swore to change!
No matter how Leo looked at it, it made complete sense that attending an event like this as a participant qualified to be an 'Epic'. He had just passed the sect's gate less than an hour ago, but he was having quite the eventful encounters right off the bat.
"Let's go find a place to sit down."
The Great Mount Hua Sect was split into large fields expanding around the artistic buildings erected all over the peak. Faithful to its na, the Mount Hua Sword Conference wasn't restricted to a single competition.
3rd rate, 2nd rate, 1st rate, competitions relevant to Martial Artists of the three stages were planned to take place on this bustling day. Originally, even a Peak-level competition was supposed to happen, but they had to cancel it since they decided to start the whole conference ahead of ti.
"There are Martial Artists everywhere…"
Looking around, Leo and his group found their way to the field where the 1st rate competition would take place. Cheon Sohee murmured in surprise at the sight created by the world-level event.
Even in the murim, it was said that true Martial Artists were hard to co into contact with if one didn't seek him. However, the current situation was the opposite of that. It was hard to spot normal people in the midst of the countless Martial Artists.
Registration was still taking place, so the competitions weren't going to start until a little while later. Still, the audience seats of the 1st rate field were almost full to the brim. The two other competitions still had their importance, but the scope of it was too small to matter.
3rd rate and 2nd rate Martial Artists were more abundant in numbers. However, the likelihood of soone impressive to appear among them was too small, even geniuses usually found it hard to show their full capabilities at a low stage. Rather than betting on soone breaking the norm, the 1st rate competition was more worth it.
Nonetheless, as long as one was an expert himself, it was still possible to observe all competitions as the three fields were very close to each other. In any case, one usually wouldn't miss out on what they ca to see!
'This discrimination isn't too bad.'
As Leo's group tried to find a seat among the audience, the 'righteous' Martial Artists avoided them like a plague. Not being included could make people feel bad. However, Leo was satisfied with the fact that seats were emptied for them just like that!
A small circle of emptiness was created around them, allowing them to sit as comfortably as possible. Quite a bit of attention was placed on them, but the Heavenly Strength Society's group was unbothered! Yeon and Leo were expressionless, while Cheon Yong and Cheon Sohee were excited to watch the fight.
"Martial Artists from all over the land of murim…"
Before long, the moving crowds started to subside one by one, each settling down in their area of choice. Even the buzzing started to fade away into faint murmurs, clearing the background for the sake of what they have all joined for…
"I welco everyone on the peak of our humble Mount Hua!"
Thus, the long-awaited Mount Hua Sword Conference started!
