Heavy footsteps thundered down the hospital corridor, the sound of different voices cutting through the chaos outside the hospital.

Arthur's hearing picked up the distinctive rhythm of movent; he could tell that they were coordinated and coming in his direction.

Gates's private army. About ti.

The security team burst through the door like a force of nature.

Six figures in advanced gear, their movents speaking of extensive combat training and experience.

Each figure carried weapons that belonged in science fiction rather than reality.

The team leader, a grizzled veteran, imdiately assessed the situation through the shattered window.

"Contacts confird. Multiple hostiles on structure seven. Engaging defensive protocols."

He turned to Gates. "Sir, the weapons were distributed as ordered."

They ca prepared.

Two team mbers stepped forward, carrying sleek cases that opened with pneumatic hisses.

Inside, nestled in custom foam, lay weapons that defied the normal hot weapons in society.

These aren't normal guns. They look straight out of a sci-fi movie.

"Here."

The team leader handed Arthur a device that looked like it had been pulled from a starship arsenal.

"Concentrated photon discharge weapon. Twenty tis the kinetic impact of an AK-47 at close range."

Twenty tis? That'll enter and co out of a large building.

The weapon was surprisingly light, its materials feeling almost weightless in Arthur's hands.

Energy cells glowed with soft blue radiance along the barrel's length.

"Currently our most effective anti-entity weapon," the leader continued.

"Field-tested against structures with similar defensive power to such beings."

Gates accepted his own weapon; he had supervised its developnt after all.

"I wasn't idle during our ti in Armageddon. When you're preparing for war, you research every possible advantage."

Gates is smart. I'm glad he was in my village; he is very technical.

Arthur nodded approvingly.

"Good job, Gates. I hadn't accounted for an early incursion. Didn't think demons could override universal law and the system itself. It seems like I was naive to think that we would be protected by universal laws...it seems like even they get broken, huh?"

Gates nodded.

"Thanks, to be honest, when I was making these weapons. I wasn't making them for this scenario; I was making them for people who might not awaken their talents. But it seems like they were still useful to us."

Outside, the defective demon on the parking structure let out another reality-shaking sound.

SHRIEK!

The sound made the hospital's remaining windows vibrate in their fras.

These demons are getting impatient.

"Contact moving!" the team leader barked into his headset.

"All units, weapons free!"

The security team flowed into defensive positions imdiately.

Two moved to the window, their optics already tracking the targets. Two more secured the corridor approaches.

The remaining pair established a mobile command centre using equipnt that belonged in military command bunkers.

Through the window, Arthur watched more defective demons scaling the hospital's exterior walls.

The nearest creature reached their floor, its burning eyes visible through the window. Its arms pressed against the glass, searching for entry points.

Ti to test Gates's engineering.

Arthur raised the photon weapon, its targeting system automatically syncing with his eyes.

Crosshairs appeared in his vision, tracking the demon's centre mass.

Let's see what twenty tis an AK-47 feels like.

He squeezed the trigger.

The weapon discharged with a sound like the air tearing.

Crack!

Boom!

A lance of concentrated energy punched through the reinforced window, through the demon's torso, and continued into the creature behind it.

That's strong.

The defective demon's shriek cut off abruptly as its upper torso simply ceased to exist.

Cauterised wounds marked where the photon beam had passed through, leaving a hole in its wake.

"Target eliminated," Arthur reported, already tracking the next threat.

The security team opened fire simultaneously. Their weapons created a light show that would have been beautiful if it weren't so deadly.

Energy beams lanced out from the hospital window, each one finding demonic targets with the auto-aim accuracy programd into the weapon.

Automated targeting. Anybody can use this weapon; it's pretty revolutionary.

Gates joined the engagent, his photon weapon adding to the defensive barrage.

The parking structure beca a killing field. Defective demons fell by the dozens, their corrupted bodies no match for weapons that operated on principles beyond their understanding.

We're winning with ease...

But more portals kept opening. More creatures poured through dinsional tears that split the sky like infected wounds.

Arthur's countdown tir pulsed with increasing urgency.

[00:03:27]

Three minutes until our real power activates.

A massive shape erged from the largest portal—sothing that dwarfed the defective demons like a dragon among lizards. Its form was barely visible through the dinsional distortion, but its presence made the air itself recoil.

That's not cannon fodder.

The team leader's voice carried new tension.

"Sir, this thing looks deadly...We recomnd imdiate withdrawal to secure positions."

Class Seven. That sounds ominous.

Gates's face went pale as he tracked the massive entity. "Arthur, that thing... It's not like the others. Based on the aura it's giving...it's comparable to level ten monsters in the other world, I'm not sure if our weapons can deal with it."

No kidding.

The portals imdiately started closing as the entity fully erged.

It seems like they are unable to send anymore, and this demon...it's an elite rank demon at level 10. This will be troubleso, but based on what I can observe, that's the maximum strength and number they can let through currently.

Through the window, Arthur watched as the entity began issuing commands to the defective demons. Its voice carried across impossible distances, organising the chaotic horde into coordinated assault formations.

This isn't random destruction anymore.

The defective demons began moving with purpose, abandoning their mindless assault in favour of tactical positioning.

They're learning.

Arthur's perception caught movent from multiple vectors—demons flanking the hospital, positioning for simultaneous assault from every angle.

Three minutes to hold out against a coordinated attack.

Three minutes until the rger gives us real weapons.

The photon weapon stood in his hands, energy cells glowing brighter as it prepared for sustained combat.
