chanical Golem’s eyes shifted as he pondered for a mont before finally speaking: "I’m not exactly sure how many there are, but there are at least three. The cha Divine Nations all exist independently, and each one is controlled by a powerful chanical overlord. However, this cha Divine Nation we built is based on a fragnt space of the Map of Heaven and Earth. It’s the strongest one."
Johnnie already knew that this was the fragnt space of the Map of Heaven and Earth.
He thought of that chanical Celestial Dragon and asked, "Is the chanical overlord that chanical Celestial Dragon?"
"No." chanical Golem shook his head. "That chanical Celestial Dragon is a bit like , both of us are special forms of consciousness, and in fact, it’s not even as strong as I am."
"Really?" Johnnie looked him up and down, a bit skeptical.
Is this guy really that powerful? Sohow, he didn’t feel like it was stronger than the chanical Celestial Dragon.
He asked curiously, "Could you kill it?"
"I’m afraid that’s impossible." chanical Golem replied helplessly, "We’re both consciousness-based beings—we’re practically invincible. As long as our consciousness isn’t destroyed, we’re immortal. Even the chanical overlord can’t just erase us."
Truly immortal?
Johnnie frowned deeply.
Divines are already powerful enough, but as long as their Divine Soul is destroyed, they’ll still fall.
But destroying consciousness itself? He’d never heard of anyone with that kind of ability.
If the chanical Race was allowed to grow unchecked, there probably wouldn’t be any race in the Universe Continent that could stop them. It would be dood—even Earth might fall...
Still, Johnnie believed that these guys must have so kind of weakness. Even if they were consciousness-based, it didn’t an they couldn’t be destroyed.
He spoke up again, "How can I leave the cha Divine Nation?"
Johnnie had already been trapped here for six days. The Divines were about to descend, and they were very likely targeting the Montemar Empire.
He had to get out of here as soon as possible.
chanical Golem thought for a mont, then said, "I’m afraid the only way is to kill the overlord, but that’s basically impossible. The chanical overlord doesn’t have a physical body—it’s an even more powerful form of consciousness that can attach itself to any chanical lifeform."
An even stronger form of consciousness?
Johnnie frowned again. He could tell that the chanical overlord chanical Golem spoke of must have mastered the laws of machines as a consciousness, making it nearly impossible to kill.
"Master, maybe I have a way." At that mont, Coco’s voice appeared.
Johnnie’s eyes lit up, and he quickly asked in his mind, "Can you kill a consciousness-based chanical overlord?"
Coco: "Ordinary forms of consciousness I might not be able to destroy, but this chanical overlord is attached to a fragnt of the Map of Heaven and Earth. As long as we break the shackles of this space and let refine the fragnt, I can wipe it out."
Breaking the shackles of this space wouldn’t be easy, but it seed like the only option.
Johnnie looked at the chanical Golem and asked, "Do you know how to break the shackles of this space?"
"I do." chanical Golem nodded. "Master, this space is anchored by a Spatial Anchor. If you destroy the Spatial Anchor, you’ll break the shackles. But the Spatial Anchor is deep in the forbidden zone, and there are ten chanical Divines as strong as that chanical Celestial Dragon guarding it."
Ten of them?
Johnnie’s frown deepened. He couldn’t even handle one chanical Celestial Dragon right now, let alone ten.
Even if the Skye Giant Shield could blast them apart, he could only use it three tis, and at most, he could only kill three chanical Monsters.
This space wasn’t the Universe Continent—without the rules of the ga Horizon protecting him, death here probably ant real annihilation.
But Johnnie had no other choices.
Only by destroying the Spatial Anchor could Coco refine the Map of Heaven and Earth fragnt, and only then could he escape from here.
Even if it was dangerous, he had to take the risk.
No need to rush out just yet.
A thought struck Johnnie, and he pulled out a pile of Energy Cores, more than seventy thousand in total.
He had obtained all of these by killing Battle chas over the past few days.
Previously, he had hit his limit for refining chanical cores, but if he raised his chanical talent to 20%, he could keep refining.
Now, Johnnie had already mastered the laws of machinery. Refining these Energy Cores shouldn’t be restricted anymore.
[Refining Energy Core, Four basic attributes 10 points]
...
Prompt ssages kept flashing as Johnnie maniacally refined Energy Cores, his strength skyrocketing rapidly.
In no ti, he had refined all seventy thousand-plus Energy Cores, and his Four basic attributes soared past nine hundred thousand points.
And this was still inside the cha Divine Nation, where his stats were heavily suppressed. If he left this place and the suppression was gone, all four basic stats would probably break past three million each, and his strength would get yet another massive boost.
But even that wasn’t enough.
Johnnie knew that what he’d face next was likely a Divine—a true Divine powerhouse not restricted by the Universe Continent’s laws.
"chanical Golem, can you handle a Divine?" He looked at the chanical Golem and asked.
"Master, my na is Xavier." The chanical Golem was displeased by Johnnie’s address. He was a powerful consciousness, not just a chanical Golem.
Then he continued, "Right now, my power is still very weak. However, this body of mine cannot be destroyed. I can stall one Divine, but I can’t kill it."
"That’s enough!" Johnnie nodded. Being able to tie down a Divine was already crazy impressive.
Besides, he could use his Sword Control Technique to attack from a distance. If he triggered the Instant Kill effect, even a Divine powerhouse could be instantly wiped out.
Although the odds were low, as long as he attacked enough tis, it was bound to happen eventually.
"Let’s go. Let’s get out of here and destroy the Spatial Anchor. Oh, and bring these chanical Golems along, too." Johnnie glanced at the tens of thousands of chanical Golems gathered nearby.
These guys were weak, but they could recover instantly after being destroyed, which made them perfect for harassing the enemy.
But they weren’t infinitely renewable—every recovery cost energy, and if their energy ran out, they couldn’t regenerate.
Fortunately, their energy could be replenished with Energy Cores or other power sources.
"Xavier, how many of these regenerating chanical Golems do we have? And can you add any other attributes to them?" Johnnie asked expectantly.
If he had an army of these self-repairing chanical Golems, paired with so powerful chanical Race weapons, he’d be unstoppable in battle and conquest.
Xavier explained, "Master, these regenerating chanical Golems are crafted from rare special materials. This is all there is, and I’ve summoned them all here. As for their attributes, they can each have at most two, but you can change them as you wish."
"That can be changed, two options are enough." Johnnie’s eyes lit up and he said, "Can you switch it to immunity to physical attacks and magic attacks?"
"No way, Master." Xavier gave a wry smile. "chanical Golems can only have specific attributes, like immunity to normal attacks or just a single skill or magical elent. They can’t be immune to all physical and magic damage."
"I see..." Johnnie frowned, clearly a little disappointed.
He thought for a mont, then set the attributes of these chanical Golems to be immune to normal attacks and fire-elent magic attacks.
Those are the most common attack types. Along with the Golems’ regeneration, even with just over ten thousand of them, they’d be a real pain to deal with.
"Let’s go. We’re leaving. Destroy the Spatial Anchor." Johnnie didn’t stick around any longer.
Xavier nodded. His chanical eyes flashed, and a powerful wave of spatial energy rippled out. In the next instant, Johnnie and the chanical Golems appeared outside the palace.
The area around them was already barren and desolate.
"Xavier, you took control of that human this quickly?" A deep, cold chanical voice sounded out—it was the massive chanical Celestial Dragon.
Johnnie stared the thing down, the Skye shield appearing in his hand, ready for combat at any mont.
"Wait, sothing’s off!" The chanical Celestial Dragon noticed sothing strange and said suspiciously, "You didn’t take control of that human. Xavier, what are you playing at?"
Xavier replied calmly, "He’s my Master now."
"Master?" The chanical Celestial Dragon’s voice went cold. "You actually betrayed the chanical Race? You’re asking to die!"
A dragon’s roar echoed as the chanical Celestial Dragon’s huge body surged, unleashing a storm of lightning bolts that rained down over Johnnie and Xavier.
"Master, get clear!" Xavier called out. With a ripple of spatial energy, Johnnie was instantly teleported a hundred ters away.
This guy had a spatial affinity—probably sothing he’d learned from another chanical powerhouse.
Johnnie found himself a little envious of that ability.
Still, it had its downsides. Xavier was a quick study, able to master talents and even the Way of the Sword, but he couldn’t innovate on his own.
Boom! Boom!
Lightning danced and thunder roared all around them.
Xavier was looking pretty rough. His strength lay in his special learning abilities, but right now he was no match for the chanical Celestial Dragon.
Still, his dark gold chanical Golem body was indestructible. No matter how hard the Celestial Dragon tried, destroying Xavier’s body just wasn’t happening.
"Xavier, use the shield!" Johnnie didn’t want to waste any more ti here and hurled the Skye shield toward Xavier.
The shield was powered by Skye’s force, so anyone could use it—but only three tis.
"What a powerful weapon." Xavier caught the shield, and instantly his confidence soared.
The chanical Celestial Dragon’s eyes narrowed, wariness creeping into its gaze.
It could feel the Skye shield’s special power and wasn’t about to attack carelessly.
Xavier didn’t rush into action either. He said, "chanical Celestial Dragon, you and I have always gotten along. I’ll give you a few chances—accept my Master as your lord and I’ll spare your life."
Johnnie’s eyes lit up when he heard that.
Taming the chanical Celestial Dragon really was a good option; if he succeeded, he’d feel much more confident about destroying the Spatial Anchor.
"You want to betray the chanical Race and bow to a human? Dream on!" The chanical Celestial Dragon roared in fury, wild winds howling around it as its attacks beca even fiercer, surging toward Xavier.
"If that’s your choice, then you can just die!" Xavier showed no fear at all, eting the attack head-on. He leaped up, swinging the massive shield down hard on the chanical Celestial Dragon’s head.
This isn’t good!
The chanical Celestial Dragon’s eyes flashed as it sensed an apocalyptic, terrifying energy. It wanted to dodge, but it was already too late.
