"You’re joking, right? You actually want the Montemar Empire, which I founded, to join your Demon race?" Johnnie scoffed. The Demon race was up to no good either—there were always traces of them behind the alien invasions on Earth.
Lucius glanced at him and spoke calmly, "Johnnie, let be honest with you. Without our help, you won’t be able to defend The Chinese City."
"Heh, that’s not how I see it." Johnnie sneered, not bothering to waste more words. With a casual wave, his flying sword glead and shot toward Lucius.
Splat!
-369,600,000
A terrifying damage number flashed above—Johnnie’s strike dealt over three hundred million damage.
Lucius was killed instantly.
But the next mont, he resurrected right where he stood.
The Demon race possessed a special power that allowed them to revive on the spot, even after death.
Johnnie had acquired this protection too, thanks to that Demon nad Jack back in the Phoenix Ruins.
Jack’s original plan had been to trap Johnnie in the lava forever, but ironically, it ended up helping him instead.
"You lowly human! How dare you slay Lord Lucius! You’re dead at!" an infuriated shout rang out as the Demon army surged forward in a frenzy.
In their eyes, no matter how strong Johnnie was, there was no way he could stand against a hundred thousand Demon soldiers.
"Hmph, overestimating yourselves!" Johnnie sneered with utter disdain. He unleashed the Technique of Swordsmanship for Controlling Swords and the Five Elents Technique. Eight flying swords flashed with cold light as the surging elental forces of the five elents roared around him. In just a single instant, thousands of Demon powerhouses were slain.
However, every Demon who died instantly revived on the spot, suffering no real loss at all.
"Cease fire!" Lucius imdiately stopped his n from attacking further, glaring coldly at Johnnie. He growled, "Human, don’t push your luck too far."
He could sense that, while his soldiers might be able to tie up Johnnie, killing him was impossible. Besides, repeated deaths would cause irreversible damage to their minds.
Johnnie didn’t press the attack. Instead, he looked at Lucius with interest. "What’s the matter? Getting scared?"
"Scared? Hah!" Lucius snorted, looking down on him. "Johnnie, let tell you sothing—the Doe Family will soon be able to withstand the Beast Wave. And that Douglas has obtained dual divine essences—his strength is now on par with today’s Divine powerhouses. Plus, several other gods are planning to target your Montemar Empire. You won’t be able to stop them. Joining the Demon race is your only option."
Dual divine essence deity?
Johnnie was puzzled. He’d never heard of a dual divine essence deity before, but it certainly sounded formidable.
Even so, even if the Montemar Empire failed, he would never side with the Demon race.
He spoke coldly, "Lucius, I’ll give you a chance to live. Tell how to deal with the chanical Race, and I’ll let you go."
Lucius was dumbfounded by his words. It took him a mont to process it, and then he scoffed, "Johnnie, you may be powerful, but if you think you can kill , you’re dreaming."
"Oh, really?" Johnnie chuckled, his eyes flashing coldly. A surge of Soul Power condensed into a phantom longsword and struck a Demon powerhouse standing next to Lucius.
"Ugh!" The man grunted, his eyes instantly losing all light as he collapsed to the ground.
His corpse didn’t disappear, nor did he revive imdiately.
"What’s going on?" Lucius frowned deeply and hurried over to check the man’s condition.
"S-Soul attack!" he cried out in shock, staring hard at Johnnie, his face filled with terror. "You actually have soul attack techniques!"
The Demon powerhouses nearby instinctively stepped back, all their previous arrogance gone.
Lucius swallowed hard, his eyes full of wariness.
Soul attacks were mysterious and unpredictable, capable of erasing the soul entirely—true death.
Only those whose Soul Intensity exceeded their opponent’s could resist it.
But Johnnie had just effortlessly instant killed the powerhouse beside him, which ant his Soul Intensity had reached an unimaginable level—far beyond what Lucius could withstand.
Facing this threat of true death, the thought of retreat had already taken root in Lucius’s heart.
Johnnie spoke again, "Tell how to deal with the chanical Race."
He knew the chanical Race’s weakness was the energy core inside their bodies, but destroying it was troubleso, especially for ordinary players.
Lucius tried to keep his composure and said, "Human, telling you is pointless. Only so of us Demon powerhouses possess the thod. It’s called Hellfire. It can directly burn the chanical Race’s energy core and kill them. Here, I’m the only one who can use Hellfire."
Hellfire? That sounded like so kind of fla power.
Johnnie thought of Jack, the Demon who’d been trapped in the magma at the Phoenix Ruins.
Back then, he was hunting Fire Demons and collecting Fire-Spirit Pearls.
Johnnie pressed further, "How does one master Hellfire?"
Lucius shook his head and replied, "This ability is innate. It can’t be acquired through training."
"Is that so? Then it seems you’re not worth much after all." Johnnie’s eyes flashed with a cold light.
Oh no!
Lucius’s face changed dramatically as he sensed the looming threat of death. He turned to run without a second thought.
Buzz!
The air trembled slightly as a powerful soul attack struck in an instant.
No matter how fast Lucius was, he couldn’t outrun Johnnie’s soul attack.
Splat!
The Sword of Souls pierced his mind. In an instant, his soul was erased.
Lucius collapsed to the ground in the very posture of fleeing, utterly lifeless, his belongings scattering everywhere.
"Run!" soone scread. The Demon army panicked and fled in all directions.
Faced with the threat of true death, these guys were even more cowardly than monsters.
Johnnie wasn’t going to let them off that easily. He unleashed soul attacks one after another.
But the Sword of Souls was a single-target technique—way too slow for mass slaughter. He couldn’t kill them all.
And as he cast soul skills repeatedly, his head throbbed with dizziness—a sign that his Soul Power was running dangerously low.
Apparently, soul attacks consud a massive amount of energy.
Then again, it made sense. After all, it was a thod that could erase players completely.
Johnnie dared not use soul attacks any further. He switched to the Cosmic Eclipse Blade, chasing down the fleeing Demons and slaughtering them as he went.
But with ordinary attacks, the Demons could simply revive on the spot, so it was no real threat to them.
Many of the Demons even chose to log off right where they stood.
Johnnie didn’t bother to chase them any longer. What mattered most now was defending against the chanical Race and establishing the Montemar Empire.
Outside The Chinese City, the battle raged on.
The chanical Race continued to display terrifying combat power—ordinary soldiers and players simply couldn’t threaten them.
Fortunately, the Four Saints Guardian Array was operating at full strength, barely holding off the chanical Race’s assault.
Johnnie finished off those Demon race guys and ca back to the foot of the city wall, ready to deal with the chanical Race again.
"Hellfire can threaten the chanical Race. I wonder if my Fire-Elent Law could do the sa?" he thought to himself, recalling what Lucius had said.
With that in mind, he unleashed Dancing Fire Dragon, gathering Fire-Elental Power into a ferocious dragon that roared toward one of the chanical Race powerhouses.
Flas surged upward, instantly engulfing the enemy.
Boom!
A flash of light erupted as an energy cannon shot straight at him.
No effect?
Johnnie frowned, his body flickering as he nimbly dodged the incoming blast.
Crack, crack...
Just then, a faint cracking sound echoed out as tiny fissures started to appear on the tough chanical body.
It worked, but it wasn’t enough to threaten the chanical energy core. This level of damage was nothing to the chanical Race.
It seed only the Demon race’s Hellfire could actually threaten the chanical Race.
Johnnie gave up on using the Five Elents Technique and gripped the Void Sword, slashing directly at the enemy’s head.
Kaboom!
With a deafening roar, the chanical energy core was destroyed, and the machine toppled over, turning into a heap of scrap tal.
[You have slain the chanical Race Battle cha. chanical Perception 1]
[Your chanical Perception has increased to 10,000 points. chanical Talent 1%.]
The prompt ssages appeared, and Johnnie’s eyes lit up.
So chanical Perception really could increase chanical talent.
But it took ten thousand points of chanical Perception to boost chanical talent by just one percent.
After gaining chanical Perception, Johnnie felt a strange connection to the chanical Race, although it wasn’t very clear yet.
"Looks like my chanical talent is still too low." Johnnie muttered, picking up the energy core dropped by the Battle cha and charging toward another chanical Race Battle cha.
Now that he had chanical talent, he could finally refine and absorb the energy cores—though he still didn’t know exactly what they were for.
The chanical Race’s defense was insane; only destroying the energy core could kill them.
This really slowed down Johnnie’s slaughtering speed.
Luckily, his Technique of Swordsmanship for Controlling Swords was unpredictable and could strike the chanical Race’s weak energy cores with pinpoint accuracy.
Boom!
Suddenly, a violent crash rang out as Black Tortoise’s massive body was sent flying. Cracks appeared across its hard shell, blood streaming down—he was wounded.
This Titan cha dealt devastating damage—enough to break through Black Tortoise’s defenses and actually threaten him.
"Azure Dragon, this guy is too dangerous. And he isn’t affected by the Universe Continent’s power suppression. Let’s use the Four Saints Guardian Array." Johnnie said, his expression grave.
"Alright." Azure Dragon realized it too, then turned to Maiev and said, "Maiev, stall him for a bit."
"Got it." Maiev nodded, her face serious. She was already battered and bruised, and one of her wings had been torn.
Black Tortoise and Azure Dragon imdiately flew into the city, rging into the Four Saints Guardian Array. The two of them had to operate the array personally.
Rumble...
Suddenly, thunder rolled across the sky, and countless purple lightning serpents danced above.
Not only that, but a magnificent river appeared, glittering with starlight—astonishingly, it was a vast Milky Way.
"Demons unleashed!"
"Celestial Hanging River!"
The majestic voices of Azure Dragon and Black Tortoise echoed through the air, filling the battlefield with terrifying pressure.Endless lightning flickered, targeting not just the chanical Titan, but every chanical Race machine surrounding the city.
Crack! Crack!
With a series of deafening crashes, one chanical ch after another was struck by lightning, sparks flying from their bodies as their movents slowed.
This lightning had a paralyzing effect—or rather, it threatened their chanical energy cores.
Whoosh—
Next, the mighty river ca crashing down, pouring straight onto the chanical Titan.
Boom!
The ground shook violently as the chanical Titan was knocked over, then swallowed up by the endless torrent.
