Online Game: Low Drop Rate? I Have a Guaranteed Drop System! Chapter 173: Mission Change – Kill Gaia
"By the way." Grayden thought of sothing else and asked."do you guys in the Land of Confusion have any gods collaborating with Gaia?"
Gaia had the courage to build an empire. There was definitely a god behind him. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have succeeded.
The voice was silent for a mont before speaking."Probably not. I haven’t heard of any powerful beings from the Universe Continent collaborating with others."
"That’s strange. Who is behind Gaia?" Grayden muttered to himself, unable to figure it out for a mont.
"Grayden." the voice ca again."I need more sacrifices."
It was greedy and bloodthirsty.
Grayden frowned and said."The loss of Stellar City soldiers is too much. It would bring unnecessary trouble. I’ve already thought of another way. Once that Gaia dies, I’ll capture the soldiers from the Astral City for you."
"Good." the voice said calmly. The whirlpool on the lake disappeared, and the water returned to calm.
...
After Johnnie left the city governor’s residence, he headed straight for the city’s teleportation point. He decided to go to the Astral City and deal with Gaia, the lord of the city.
"Master." Maiev’s voice ca into his mind."that Grayden is suspicious!"
"Oh? Did you find sothing?" Johnnie asked, puzzled.
Maiev said."A god. There’s a god strong enough beneath the lake."
"What?" Johnnie was shocked and slowed his steps. He asked."Is it a god or a god’s avatar?"
Maiev’s voice ca back."A real god. One that isn’t affected by the Universe Continent’s power. I wanted to warn you before, but his presence was too strong. If I had communicated with you, he might have sensed it."
Johnnie frowned and asked."Why isn’t he affected by the Universe Continent’s power?"
"I don’t know. It might be so special thod or a powerful artifact. Or maybe his power doesn’t belong to this world." Maiev speculated.
"Doesn’t belong to this world?" Johnnie was even more confused.
Maiev paused for a mont before saying."That’s just my guess. I’ve heard that there are foreign gods in this world. Their power is unique and can’t be detected by the Universe Continent’s suppressing force. But I’ve never co across one."
Johnnie thought for a mont and frowned."If they want to build a country, or block others from doing so, wouldn’t there be no one who could stop them?"
Maiev was stunned for a mont, and her voice turned serious."Possibly."
This was a big problem.
Johnnie was worried that when he started building his country, Grayden might co to interfere.
A god who wasn’t suppressed by the Universe Continent’s power—no one could stop him.
His close allies, the four Sacred Beasts, were all avatars except for Phoenix, which was the true body. But even Phoenix was still in the growing phase and wasn’t as strong as him.
Maiev and the others wanted to descend onto the Universe Continent, but their power would be limited. They were stronger than a god’s avatar, but against a real god, they were definitely no match.
Maiev’s voice ca again: "Master, you don’t need to worry too much. Although he’s a god, I can feel his Divine Soul is injured. He probably won’t dare to act recklessly."
"Divine Soul injured? Could we possibly kill him?" Johnnie’s eyes lit up as he asked.
Having a god who wasn’t restricted by the Universe Continent’s power was always a risk.
"Probably not realistic. Even if the god is injured, if his power isn’t suppressed, I can’t handle him. Not even with the True Forms of the Azure Dragon or the Black Tortoise would we be sure to win." Maiev said with a sigh. She knew well just how powerful gods were.
"Never mind, let’s focus on finishing the mission first." Johnnie said, no longer dwelling on the issue. He arrived at the Teleportation Array and directly teleported to the Astral City.
Astral City was a level 3 city. Although it wasn’t as strong as Stellar City, the current player strength was mostly at stage 3 or stage 4, so level 3 cities were actually the most prosperous.
Johnnie headed straight for the city governor’s residence. The soldiers there already recognized him and didn’t stop him. A soldier hurried inside to inform the governor.
"Johnnie, long ti no see. Are you here to submit a mission?" Gaia, upon hearing Johnnie had arrived, greeted him with a warm smile.
Johnnie looked at him and said coldly."There was an unexpected situation. I probably won’t be able to finish your mission."
"What?" Gaia’s smile disappeared, and he frowned."Johnnie, don’t forget the punishnt for this mission. I know it wasn’t easy for you to reach this level. And you’re under the Seal Demon Spell. Are you really willing to go back to stage 1, level 1?"
"You actually know I’m under the Seal Demon Spell? Are you from the Doe Family?" Johnnie asked coldly, his killing intent fully awakened.
Gaia finally realized he had slipped up and smiled awkwardly before shaking his head."No, I just heard it from soone else."
"Soone else? Who?" The news of Johnnie being under the Seal Demon Spell was only known to Crysic and the others.
He had told no one else—not even Finn or Atlas. Players had all speculated that he was stuck in a special secret realm, which was why he hadn’t been able to level up.
But this Gaia knew about it. That ant he was definitely connected to the Doe Family or Pluto.
This guy had already signed his own death warrant.
Gaia frowned and said."Johnnie, I just found out by accident. And you’ve already accepted the mission. As long as you kill the Lord of the Stellar City, Grayden, you’ll get two Fossils of Creation and information about a piece of the Map of Heaven and Earth."
"Sorry, but Grayden offered a better reward. My current mission is to kill you!" Johnnie said coldly, not wanting to waste words. He summoned the Void Sword and directly slashed at Gaia.
"What? Johnnie, don’t be fooled by that guy!" Gaia panicked and dodged frantically.
He was only at stage 5, epic cultivation. Even without Johnnie’s Great Transformation Sword Technique passive skill, he could have easily killed him.
But he hadn’t even had a mont to relax when a flash of cold light appeared. Eight flying swords ca at him one after another.
Plop...
-309500
-298501
-591300
...
Several damage numbers flashed, one of which was a critical hit, instantly reducing Gaia’s health by more than half.
He was terrified and quickly raised his hands, saying."Human, don’t kill . I’m willing to tell you about the pieces of the Map of Heaven and Earth. I promise it’s sothing Grayden doesn’t know."
"Oh?" Johnnie stopped, looking at him suspiciously and said."If you tell sothing about the Map of Heaven and Earth that I don’t know, I’ll spare your life."
"Okay." Gaia saw a chance and sighed in relief. He quickly asked."Do you know which two pieces Grayden told you about?"
"You don’t need to know that. Just tell about two pieces that I don’t know about, and I’ll spare your life." Johnnie said coldly. He hadn’t killed Gaia yet, and he wasn’t sure about the details of the Map of Heaven and Earth pieces.
Gaia furrowed his brow. Though he was scared, he wasn’t completely out of his mind. He said."If I tell you sothing different from what Grayden told you, what if you don’t accept it?"
"Hmph, it seems like you still don’t understand. Then you can just die." Johnnie didn’t want to waste words and raised his hand, sending a flying sword roaring toward Gaia.
"Wait!" He panicked and tried to stop Johnnie again. "Okay. Human, I believe you. I’ll tell you about one piece of the Map of Heaven and Earth. It’s in the Land of Confusion."
"Hmph, I already knew that." Johnnie sneered and sent another flying sword flashing with cold light.
"No, I know one more." Gaia hurriedly said.
"Another one?" Johnnie was surprised and looked at him suspiciously, saying coldly."Speak."
Gaia swallowed hard, relieved to be alive, and didn’t dare to hide anything. "I know the exact location of one piece of the Map of Heaven and Earth. It’s in Novice Village No. 33."
A novice village?
Johnnie was stunned. That was actually possible.
Dorian had a way to sense the pieces of the Map of Heaven and Earth, but novice villages were sealed off and couldn’t be detected. He wouldn’t have been able to check every single one.
Johnnie said."I already knew that. Do you have anything else?"
"Lies! You’re lying!" Gaia was angry. He saw Johnnie’s reaction clearly.
He was certain that Johnnie didn’t know about the Map of Heaven and Earth piece in Novice Village No. 33. He had discovered it by accident a long ti ago.
"Hmph." Johnnie sneered, unimpressed. "It seems you can’t give useful information. If that’s the case, you can just die."
He moved his mind again, and the flying swords attacked quickly.
"No!" Gaia scread in despair, too weak to resist. The eight flying swords swept over him, and his health points were instantly emptied.
[Killed The Lord of the Astral City Gaia. You gained 640 experience points.]
A prompt flashed, followed by three more announcents.
[Announcent: Player Johnnie killed The Lord of the Astral City. A bounty has been issued to kill Johnnie. Reward: 1000 free attribute points and one legendary gear at your current level. This bounty is permanent.]
...
Three system announcents rang out, causing another major stir. The world chat channel buzzed with discussion.
"Johnnie guru is at it again!"
"Astral City is a level 3 city. The Lord of the Astral City Gaia is supposedly a stage 5 epic-level warrior. How the heck did he do that?"
"After being quiet for so long, it’s surprising to see the guru co out and make such a big move."
"I’m in Astral City. Anyone looking for a group to hunt down Johnnie?"
"Haha, do you not know what happened before? Still want to attack Johnnie guru? You think Johnnie guru only has this one bounty? He has dozens of bounties on lords of cities. Has anyone even dared to act?"
"You won’t know unless you try. If you kill him once, you’ll be on your way."
"I’m in Astral City. Johnnie is already fighting the city guards. Maybe I can take advantage of the chaos."
"Really? I’m going to check it out too."
...
Players were talking and debating, and many rushed directly to Astral City.
At the sa ti, Johnnie was in the city governor’s residence, violently slaughtering the attacking soldiers and heading toward the Astral City altar.
Even without this mission, he was going to take action against Gaia.
Astral City controlled the entrance to the Demon Lair, which was important to him.
At this mont, Gaia had already been killed. Once he purified the altar in the city, he would beco the new Lord of the Astral City and completely control Astral City.
