"Johnnie, why is this woman here?" Tyrande raised her long neck arrogantly, her tone sharp and spiteful.
Johnnie ignored her completely, instead focusing on Crysic's flushed cheeks. He coldly asked, "Who hit you?"
Crysic shook her head, not daring to speak.
Tyrande, furious at being ignored, snapped, "Johnnie, I'm talking to you. You better give a reasonable explanation!"
Slap!
A sharp slap rang through the air.
Tyrande stood frozen, her cheek burning with pain. She stared at Johnnie with wide eyes, in disbelief.
"Explanation? It's exactly what you're seeing. Is that good enough?" Johnnie sneered, his gaze cold and devoid of any emotion as he looked at the woman.
"You actually hit ?" Tyrande finally reacted, covering her burning cheek with one hand. Her finger pointed at him, trembling slightly.
"Malfurion, are you just going to stand there and watch get hit?" She turned to her brother, who had just gotten up from the floor, furious.
Malfurion's face was twisted with anger as he took a step forward. But as soon as he t Johnnie's icy gaze, his body involuntarily shuddered. He cowardly stepped back behind Tyrande, speaking in a low voice, "Sis, I can't take him on."
"You!" Tyrande gasped, her chest heaving in anger, causing her to cough violently.
Johnnie scoffed and coldly said, "What are you two doing in my house?"
Only then did Tyrande seem to rember the purpose of her visit. She pulled a bank card from her bag, holding it tightly in her hand. "Johnnie, this is the 30 million my brother owes you. If you take it, we're done—no more ties between us. But after what happened today, if you want to forgive you, co to my house and kneel to apologize!"
Johnnie couldn't help but laugh in anger.
He didn't know where this woman's confidence ca from to speak like this.
"I thank you," he said, snatching the bank card from her hand. He had been wondering how to sever ties with her for good. There was family involvent, so he had to give his elders so face.
But her actions played right into his hands.
"This is my private residence. You're not welco here. Leave now, or I'll call security." His eyes narrowed as he stared coldly at the two of them.
"You!" Tyrande, clearly stunned by his harshness, hadn't expected him to be so heartless. She had thought she could easily manipulate him, as before.
"Fine! Johnnie, rember this. I'll make you regret it. Don't co crawling to later!" She spat, throwing her parting words at him before turning to leave.
Malfurion also wanted to say sothing harsh, but as soon as he t Johnnie's chilling gaze, he instinctively shrank back. He hurriedly caught up with Tyrande.
"Sis, wait for ."
He had a strong feeling that Johnnie was different now—his eyes seed like they could really kill soone.
The two of them left.
Johnnie took out his phone and dialed the security guard, Doe. He instructed him to make sure that Tyrande was never allowed in again.
"Johnnie, I'm sorry, it was my mistake. I'll blacklist Tyrande's license plate right away." Doe apologized repeatedly, finally recalling that he had brought a woman in yesterday, and it was clear now that she was no longer associated with Tyrande.
After hanging up the phone, he looked at Crysic's slightly reddened cheek and her expression of grievance. He felt both pity and anger. "Didn't you know how to fight back? Also, why are you smiling? You just got slapped, and you're so happy about it?"
He noticed the smile that Crysic was trying to hide at the corner of her mouth and beca even angrier.
"Huh?" Crysic's other cheek quickly turned pink as well. She lowered her head and quickly changed the subject. "Johnnie, breakfast is ready. Let's eat first."
She hurried into the kitchen.
Johnnie sighed, and a smile unconsciously tugged at his lips. He hadn't realized before how cute this woman was.
He quickly washed up and sat down to enjoy breakfast.
The breakfast Crysic had prepared was even more exquisite than Mith's: hot milk and several delicate pastries.
Johnnie felt a bit guilty and said, "Crysic, I didn't ask you to take care of like this. Next ti, just make sothing simpler. I'm not that picky."
"It's fine, Johnnie, I don't mind. I was just bored anyway." Crysic replied cheerfully, clearly enjoying herself.
He shook his head, no longer pressing the matter. He leaned back on the couch, deep in thought.
He had originally been in no rush to form a guild because his funds were limited. He had planned to wait for the price of the login crystal to drop before starting a guild.
But now, with an extra thirty million and the unexpected acquisition of the Lucky Master profession, the financial problem was no longer an issue.
And the sooner he created the guild, the better.
He had already thought of a suitable candidate, soone in Sunset City.
"Crysic, co here for a mont." He waved at Crysic, who had just finished with her tasks.
"Johnnie, what's up?" Crysic sat down on the couch, looking at him curiously.
"Do you rember the Shark Shield Security Company?"
"Hmm, yes. We've worked with them on so projects before." Crysic nodded. So of the previous projects for her company had been handled by people from Rui Shield.
The security company wasn't large, only having a dozen or so employees, but all of them were reportedly retired soldiers, veterans with serious responsibilities and good characters. The projects they handled had never had any issues.
Johnnie continued, "I heard Joseph is facing so difficulties?"
Joseph, the founder of Shark Shield Security, was also a retired soldier. He was said to have been a reconnaissance soldier with real combat experience, but after an injury to his leg, he was forced to retire. He refused an offer from his superiors and instead founded the security company.
"Yeah, I heard about it." Crysic said, having looked into the matter. "It's Joseph's daughter. She has leukemia, and her treatnt wasn't handled well, causing her immunity to collapse. She has to live in a special environnt now, and just her daily treatnt costs nearly 10,000. When the last project paid its final installnt, he even asked if we had any other projects to collaborate on, but the company wasn't doing too well at the ti. Now he's trying to sell the company..."
She sighed at this point, shaking her head as she muttered, "Life really isn't fair."
She had t Joseph's daughter, Sun Xiaoxiao, who was around sixteen or seventeen years old—frail and pale, constantly suffering from the tornt of her illness. Yet, that young girl remained optimistic and cheerful, always greeting her with a smile whenever they t.
Johnnie took out the bank card and said, "Crysic, this card has thirty million. Take it to Joseph, and tell him that if he trusts and works with , I have a way to treat his daughter."
"Huh? Johnnie, is that for real? Leukemia-induced immune system destruction is a terminal condition. There's never been a case of it being cured," Crysic asked, surprised.
"You'll see when the ti cos." Johnnie was aware that such a condition couldn't be treated in the real world, but in Horizon, it was a different story.
Once his strength reached god-like levels, his attributes could manifest in reality, and any physical ailnt or pain could be eradicated.
Even Joseph's severed leg could be restored.
He had long wanted to recruit a few people and establish a guild.
They were all retired soldiers, and in Horizon, the strongest players were not necessarily those top-tier gars, but soldiers with real combat experience, as well as the hidden martial arts families.
The powerful martial arts families were out of reach for him with his current status, and soldiers were official forces he couldn't touch. The only option left was these veterans.
"Really? I'll take the bank card over and talk to Joseph." Crysic was a workaholic, imdiately getting up to change clothes and leave.
"It's not urgent. Just contact Joseph and have him co pick it up. Your priority right now is leveling up and completing that hidden quest I told you about." Johnnie reminded her.
This girl leveled up too slowly. In his previous life, soone had completed that quest, and he didn't want that person to beat her to it.
"Okay, I'll try to reach level 3, tier 1, today." Crysic said with confidence. She was wearing mostly white-quality gear, with two green-quality pieces that Johnnie had given her.
Her strength had greatly increased, and her leveling speed was now much faster. She was confident she could reach level 3, tier 1 by today.
With this strong gear, she was on par with other players at level 5, tier 1, which would be enough to rescue the old village chief.
She called Joseph, and he said he would be able to arrive in about half an hour.
Johnnie felt assured leaving this task to her. He gave her a quick nod and went upstairs to continue playing the ga.
Ding!
As soon as he entered the ga, a private ssage popped up.
It was from Cox.
Cox: "Boss, all the equipnt has been sold. The four pieces of white gear went for over 18 million, and the gray gear sold for 290,000. The over 10 million was transferred via bank card. Do you want to exchange it for gold coins?"
So much!
Johnnie was stunned.
The price of white gear ranged from one to three million, and Cox had sold the four pieces for over four million—a high price. It seed that he had really gouged Wecheat on the deal.
Seeing that Cox was still online, Johnnie quickly replied.
Johnnie: "Exchange the 290,000 for gold coins, and transfer the 18 million to my bank card."
He sent over the card number. He still needed funds to establish the guild and purchase a login crystal.
