"This guy... is he really this brutal?" Sky Jas couldn’t help but swallow nervously. While he had always known that Luca was a person with hidden depths, he hadn’t expected him to be this ruthless. What surprised him even more was that all he had done was speak a few words about Luca in front of Southwind Jas and Northwood Jas, and this had led to such a significant outco.

This thought filled him with an uncontrollable sense of euphoria.

Celephais, the son of the Patriarch Southwind Jas, was destined from birth to be the heir of the Jas Family. However, this situation was not irreversible. If the heir were to die unexpectedly, a new heir would be selected from among the Jas Family mbers.

And Sky Jas happened to be the most outstanding young man in the entire Jas Family at the mont, even surpassing Celephais in many ways.

Now that Celephais was dead, didn’t that an that he, Sky Jas, would be the next family heir?

Continue your adventure with .Côm

This thought wasn’t only on Sky Jas’s mind. A glimr of excitent flashed in the eyes of most of the young mbers of the Jas Family.

The position of the Patriarch had been settled long ago, but now with this unexpected turn of events, it was like a godsend opportunity for them.

Seeing the expressions on everyone’s faces, Sky Jas couldn’t help but sneer inwardly.

A group of family-raised freeloaders, and they dared to covet the position of family heir?

They truly didn’t know their place.

The position of heir to the Jas Family was his, and only he had the ability to shoulder that responsibility!

"Silence." At that mont, Humr Nan suddenly spoke up, suppressing the murmurs and restlessness of those gathered in the hall.

"Luca has killed three generations of the Jas Family’s Patriarchs—this is an unforgivable grudge!" Humr Nan’s voice was cold as he continued, "And now the most important thing is to avenge our forr Patriarchs!

"No matter the cost, Luca must die, or the Jas Family will have no face to continue existing in the Imperial Capital!"

The room fell into silence.

The news of Luca’s killings—of high-ranking mbers from both the Willow Family and the Jas Family—had already spread throughout the Imperial Capital.

Even the most naïve person would know that Luca was not soone to be dealt with lightly.

And to make matters worse, Luca had the powerful Drumph standing behind him, a man with such imnse influence and connections.

To kill Luca was not sothing that could be easily achieved by re words.

Seeing the room fall silent, Humr Nan’s brow furrowed slightly.

He knew exactly what these people were worried about. He also understood that they wouldn’t take action unless they could see a concrete benefit.

After thinking for a mont, he spoke again, his voice low: "Here, I can give you all a guarantee. As long as you can kill Luca and avenge our family, no matter who does it, the position of the Jas Family patriarch will be theirs from now on!"

As soon as these words were spoken, the hall erupted into murmurs. Even those who hadn’t planned on attacking Luca now found themselves intrigued.

After all, the Jas Family was one of the most prestigious families in the world.

To be able to inherit the title of patriarch ant directly stepping into the ranks of the most powerful people globally.

Such temptation was not sothing that an ordinary person could resist.

Not just the others, even Sky Jas himself was sowhat tempted. After all, being the actual patriarch of the Jas Family was far beyond being an heir—it was a power beyond compare.

But soon, he cald himself. He had encountered Luca before and knew how formidable and extraordinary that person was. He was not soone who could be easily dealt with, and Sky Jas knew he had no chance of killing him.

Although the position of patriarch was incredibly tempting, one needed to survive to enjoy it.

However, the others clearly had no such caution. One by one, they eagerly stepped forward, volunteering to go after Luca’s head.

Seeing this, Humr Nan imdiately made a promise: "You don’t need to worry about the funds. The family will provide for you. And I will not go back on my word. If you can kill Luca, the position of Jas Family patriarch will be yours!"

He then took out the family patriarch token and placed it on the table. At the sa ti, he gave orders for funds to be drawn from the family’s treasury and distributed to those Jas Family mbers who were willing to take action.

At this, the young mbers of the Jas Family beca even more excited. Even if they couldn’t kill Luca, the money alone was a significant prize.

Watching them stride out of the manor, Sky Jas’s gaze flickered for a mont before he also made his way outside.

However, he did not walk the sa path as the others.

...

anwhile, on a highway not far from Wind City, a black SUV was speeding along.

Luca, accompanied by Donlow and Fuzzsir, was rushing toward Wind City.

In the distance, they could already see the city, located at the border of the Northern and Eastern Territories.

Unlike the previous Leaf City, although there were still many monsters wandering around outside Wind City, their numbers were relatively low. In fact, a clear path had already been made for entry into the city.

Wind City had been cleaned up once by people from the Northern Territory, and then it was taken over by the Eastern Territory. Due to being cleaned twice, the situation here was much better compared to other places.

At least, it wasn’t like Leaf City, where the monsters had surrounded the city, leaving no way out.

Once they entered the city, they could see that the situation here was relatively better, but still, it was only "better" in comparison.

Many buildings along the city streets had been reduced to rubble.

Shops and the streets were scattered with blackened blood and decaying corpses.

Although there weren’t many monsters, there were also very few people around.

All the remaining survivors had been relocated to the Inner District, which was being guarded by military personnel and Morning Star operatives. However, it wasn’t the Northern Territory’s Morning Star; it was the Eastern Territory’s forces. Wind City was quite close to the Eastern Territory’s secure zone, making it easier for support to arrive.

"So, this is Wind City? Doesn’t look like much," Fuzzsir remarked, leaning his head out the window to take a look before lazily pulling back and comnting in boredom. He had been rambling nonstop during the entire drive, but Luca and Donlow didn’t respond to him.

"That high-level node is actually in the Inner District? Are the Eastern Territory people really that strong?" Donlow glanced at the address Drumph had provided them, and he suddenly seed a bit surprised.

Luca glanced over and saw that the location was indeed in the Inner District. High-level nodes with monsters were certainly not comparable to low-level ones. For ordinary adventurers, it was almost impossible to clear such nodes, especially when they were located in densely populated areas like the Inner District.

From this, it was clear that the adventurers of Eastern Territory’s Morning Star were a formidable group of people.

"I hope we et so who are easy to deal with," Luca muttered with a slight shake of his head. Nodes were a resource for players, and typically, players wouldn’t easily yield them. Even with Drumph’s order, they could still refuse entry.

Not everyone in Morning Star was a good person; after all, the rebels from the Northern Territory were a pri example. If they weren’t allowed into the node, they’d have no choice but to handle it forcefully. Either way, Luca was determined to enter that node.

Just as Donlow was about to respond, a barricade suddenly appeared ahead on the road, with two soldiers standing in front.

Luca gently pressed the brakes, and the black SUV ca to a halt beside the soldiers.

The soldiers approached them, speaking seriously: "The 303 shelter is currently off-limits to outsiders. Please turn back imdiately."

The 303 shelter, which was the current na for Wind City.

"We are mbers of Morning Star, on Drumph’s orders to carry out a mission. Here is our pass; we request that you grant us permission to proceed." Luca smiled as he spoke, handing over the pass that had been prepared in advance.

At the sa ti, Donlow and Fuzzsir also presented their Morning Star credentials.

"Morning Star?" When the two soldiers heard that Luca and his team were from Morning Star, their gazes imdiately shifted, now filled with respect and wariness.

Since the ga had descended, the player identity had officially co to the forefront, and Morning Star, as the official player organization of Sumr Country, was undoubtedly the brightest star in this new world.

Moreover, the soldiers had personally witnessed Morning Star’s power. It was a strength far beyond anything they had imagined, and they felt a deep, almost instinctual awe for such an entity.

However, to Luca’s surprise, even though they had revealed their Morning Star affiliation, the soldiers still refused to let them pass.

"Sorry, sirs," one of the soldiers said apologetically. "We’ve received orders from above. We can’t let you through."

The other soldier added, "This is Mr. Lightless’s order. We can’t disobey."

"Lightless? Who is that?" Luca thought hard but couldn’t recall anyone by that na.

However, Donlow seed to have made the connection. He frowned and said, "Isn’t this Lightless from Imperial Capital? When did he end up in the Northern Territory?"

Noticing Luca’s confusion, Donlow explained, "He’s from the Wu family in Imperial Capital. It’s not one of the big families, but he’s quite talented. An S-rank player with high-tier strength. He’s made quite a na for himself in both Morning Star and Imperial Capital."

"These young masters from the big families sure are active," Luca muttered, furrowing his brow but not feeling particularly surprised. The world was in chaos, with a global reshuffling underway. All the major factions and families would certainly begin to strategize and carve up the pie for themselves.

And as the most powerful faction in Sumr Country, Morning Star was naturally the pri target for these people, much like how the Willow Family had infiltrated Morning Star in the Northern Territory before.

With the current ti constraints, the governnt had neither the manpower nor the ti to clean up these factions, so unless the governnt chose to abandon the power of the great families, situations like this were inevitable.

After a mont of thought, Luca said, "We ca to Wind City to handle so important matters. If we’re delayed, no one will take responsibility. You’d better notify soone. We can talk to Mr. Lightless personally."

The two soldiers hesitated for a mont before nodding. Given Luca’s and Lightless’s statuses, neither of them was soone they could afford to provoke. The best course of action was to follow orders.

Just as they were about to turn and go inside to report.

A voice suddenly ca from not far away.

A man’s voice, lighthearted and teasing, called out, "Well, well, if it isn’t Miss Donlow! I didn’t expect to run into you here. You should’ve let know before you arrived—I would have sent soone to pick you up."
