Chapter 123: A nightmare of the past
After putting away the two pieces of equipnt that had been appraised, Ye Tian Xie took out the final two pieces of Gold equipnt……They were the Tiger Tooth Dagger and Tiger Soul Shield that the Athyst War Tiger dropped. Once those two pieces of Gold equipnt appeared, he saw the girl reveal a look of disbelief on her face.
“These are the last two pieces. I’ll have to trouble you.”
“No…..It’s no trouble.”
She would receive gold coins and experience from appraising items, so the one that should be saying thanks was her.
Her luck was truly good today. After taking the two piece of Gold equipnt, a small period pass and she had successfully appraised the two items. Ye Tian Xie looked at their stats and then returned them to his inventory. He had spent a total of 120 gold coins on appraising these two items. Adding the amount from before, he spent a total of 350 gold coins!
But, he did not feel the slightest bit of heartache. He just felt a mysterious feeling that compelled him to do all of these things.
He did not stay long. He looked at the girl one last ti and then turned around to leave. He believed that he would definitely have a chance to et her again.
“……Can I add you to my friends list?” The girl called out to him, asking him in a timid and restless tone.
“Alright.” Ye Tian Xie turned around and took the initiative to add “Broken Heart” into his friends list. She beca the first person to enter the list. When the accepted friend request sound rang out, Ye Tian Xie smiled at her and said, “It’ll be more convenient to find you like this in the future. If I have any other equipnt that I need appraised, then I’ll have to trouble you.”
Perhaps it was because he could see that she had been hurt before in the past, he did not talk to her in his normal cold manner, rather he was being quite gentle.
After he finished talking, he waved at her and walked back to his residence. The girl finally had the chance to learn his na. When she opened her friends list, she saw the only na that was there and her eyes and mouth both fell wide open……
Xie Tian……That person……Was actually the legendary Xie Tian that everyone was talking about!
After returning to his new house, the first thing Ye Tian Xie did was equip the Undead Cloak. He was thinking about whether he should go and level up, but a system prompt sound interrupted his thoughts.
“Ding……There is soone calling you from outside, do you wish to connect the call?”
Looking at the ti, Ye Tian Xie did not choose to accept the call inside the ga and chose to log out.
Opening his eyes, he saw the clean ceiling that he was no longer familiar with. The phone was ringing beside his ear. The number of people that knew his phone number could be counted on a single hand.
Reaching out his arm, he grabbed the phone with his hand. Without looking at the number, Ye Tian Xie imdiately pressed the answer button and put the phone beside his ear.
“Second Brother, do you know that there’s a piece of news?” A deep and wild man’s voice ca from the phone.
“Oh? What’s the news?” Ye Tian Xie asked. If it wasn’t sothing important, then he wouldn’t have chosen to call him.
“Tomorrow……At exactly 12 o’clock, the Destiny world’s currency exchange will be open at a rate of one to one. Now that this news has been spread, there are many guilds that have made their preparations.”
Ye Tian Xie knit his brows and sat up from then bed. Then he asked, “Didn’t you tell last ti that it would take around a month? Why is it opening tomorrow now?”
What did the currency exchange opening an? For normal players, this was just a way for them to exchange money. But Ye Tian Xie knew that once the currency exchange opened, the entire Destiny world would be thrown into chaos. Every guild, faction, and power would reveal their teeth and fight for their respective domains.
“It was set for a month later, but Second Brother……The players have all been saying that the currency exchange opening is taking too long; especially in the international forums, many posts are pushing for the opening every day. This is not only serious for the Outer World Group, even the governnts of all the countries are feeling pressure from this…….As for the inside reason, Second Brother, you probably know this better than I do. After that, disappearances occurred and it’s said that aliens have sent a ssage contacting the Outer World Group and the major banks, telling them to open the currency exchange tomorrow. Second Brother, you better prepare yourself.”
Ye Tian Xie was silent for a bit, then he nodded and said, “I know……What about Elder Sister?”
“Elder Sister has been prepared for a while. Once the currency exchange opens, she will make her move. “Ah! Alright!” The voice on the other side beca excited, “I’ll go and tell that damn transvestite right now. Fuck, I’m really happy right now, I can finally fight the entire world with Old Fourth and Old Second, ha, ha, ha, ha……”
Black lines appeared on Ye Tian Xie and he said in a sinister voice, “If you call Old Second again, do you believe I won’t cut you into eight parts and feed you to the turtles?”
“Slip of the tongue, it was definitely a slip of the tongue. Second Brother, don’t be angry. Well since it’s like this, I’ll be hanging up first, hei, hei, hei, hei……”
After he finished talking on the phone, Ye Tian Xie put his cell phone down. He fell back down onto the bed and stared right at the ceiling. His thoughts slowly shifted away from the currency market and was soon filled with chaos.
That azure haired man, those eyes……That back figure……
Unknowingly, his eyes misted over as his train of thought unwillingly turned to the past he did not want to rember.
The sky was dim and the wind was heavy. Even the moon was half covered by the clouds, and only a dreary light shined onto the earth.
“Wu, wu……Wu, wu, wu, wu……Big Brother, are mother and father truly dead……I don’t want this……I don’t want this……”
The boy’s sad weeping made the night seem even more depressing. Finally a tall figure was chaotically and quickly running as far as he could. This was a young man that was fourteen-fifteen years old, but he already had an adult’s body and incredibly sharp eyes. At this mont, his eyes shined with flas of resentnt and contained traces of exhaustion.
There was a young boy tucked into his waist, this young boy was only around four-five years old. Feeling the cold wind, the little boy began to helplessly cry……
“Don’t cry……We are n, we can only lose blood and cannot cry, we can never cry.” He ran forward with all his strength. His breathing had already beco disorderly and he was already staggering. His breathing continued to beco heavier. He had long overdrawn the strength in his body, the only reason he could continue running was because of his stubborn willpower.
“But, they’ve killed mother and father……” The little boy raised his grey and white eyes. This night was like a nightmare that completely turned his world upside down. He had never witnessed any evil, but he had personally witnessed his mother and father being killed……At that ti, he was completely stunned. His brain was completely empty as his Big Brother escaped with him……Desperately running away……
“Mother and father are not dead, they’ve just gone to heaven. They are watching us from heaven……”
“Heaven……” The little boy looked up in his Big Brother’s chest, looking at the night sky dotted with stars. He revealed a heartbroken look of despair, “Big Brother, then I want to go to heaven too……I miss mother and father……”
The man suddenly stopped and his body seed like it was falling as he kneeled down, while heavily breathing. His body was completely covered in sweat. In front of them……there was an impressive cliff. They could not even see the bottom of the cliff, but this was their last chance of survival.
His teeth were tightly clenched, so tight that blood flowed from the gaps in between his teeth. Far off in the distance on his right side, a black pile attracted his attention. He pulled strength from who knows where and furiously ran over to the pile.
This was a pile of irregularly stacked stones. The man placed the little boy down and while panting, he squeezed out the last amount of energy left in his body, he began to wildly move the stones. He kept going until he made a satisfactory hole. He turned around and removed the little boy’s coat. He put the coat around a stone the size of the little boy and then placed the little boy into the hole. He quickly moved a stone over and covered his body, letting the little boy hide in the stone pile.
“Big Brother……” The little boy was feeling cold, so he rolled his body into a ball. Then he shouted at the only person he could depend on.
The man squatted down and picked up the stone wrapped in the little boy’s clothes. The corners of his mouth were raised into a smile and he gently said, “Xiao Tian, true n will not die that easily, do you understand? Our mother and father are dead and our house is destroyed…….But we still have you. You need to live a good life, you have to live a good life. Like this, mother and father in heaven will be happy……You will be able to take revenge for them. Xiao Tian, be good and don’t make any sounds. You have to live on……If you live on, we will have a chance to et again one day.”
“Big Brother!”
He looked one last ti at his little brother and then rushed off into the opposite direction. The little boy just dumbfoundedly stared at his back, as it went further and further away. In that mont, his back figure was engraved into his heart, because in his little immature mind, he felt a kind of fear that……this was his last ti seeing his Big Brother’s back.
