Capítulo 2162: Chapter 1723: Golden Treasure Chest
“Swish, swish, swish!”
In an instant, the Blood Grass transford into a swarm of venomous pythons, flicking their crimson tongues, eyes revealing a murderous intent, ready to pounce at any mont.
“Senior, things seem grim. It’s just the two of us; we’re no match for this many venomous snakes. If it gets too tough, should we retreat first?!”
Su Ran was startled by the mass of venomous pythons, densely packed and quite terrifying, making his scalp tingle with dread. If not for having an iron man by his side, he would have flown away by now.
His fear was palpable, easily discerned from his tone of voice.
“What’s there to panic about!”
The iron man looked down on Su Ran’s display of cowardice, snorting heavily in disapproval as he soared into the air, surveying the snake swarm below, and released an aura of dominance. He roared, “Get lost, all of you!!!”
In an instant, a violent wind arose, howling in all directions. Su Ran, caught off guard by the sudden gale, almost got swept away.
With that move, all the blood-colored venomous pythons were terrified, their fearful hissing echoed incessantly as they fled into the distance, quickly vanishing from Su Ran’s sight. Even the surrounding Blood Grass faded to a light green.
“Wow, senior, you’re incredible!”
Su Ran stood in awe, his Soul Fire trembling incessantly. As the iron man descended from the sky, he quickly flattered him, expressing his excitent and shock.
“A minor matter.”
The iron man was quite satisfied with Su Ran’s astonished gaze. He jumped down on the grass and casually explained, “These Blood Grass Pythons are extrely cowardly; if you choose to run, they beco more relentless, chasing you to death. But if you show them an overwhelming strength, they get scared and naturally won’t confront you.”
“I didn’t know about this setting. Senior, how are you so familiar with the monsters here, even knowing their weaknesses?”
Su Ran was quite amazed. Even his Detection Technique couldn’t discern their weaknesses, yet the iron man could—it was truly fascinating!
“Nonsense, I’ve been living here for many years, fully understanding the temperant of these creatures.”
The iron man didn’t elaborate further, continuing to walk forward, revealing crucial information, “Beyond this blood-colored grassland, there’s a cave with a golden chest inside. The Skill Book you need is there.”
“A golden chest?!”
Su Ran was overjoyed at the news. A golden chest contained more than just one Skill Book, which ant all the treasures inside the chest belonged to him!
This was fantastic news!
At this mont, he couldn’t wait for the iron man to hurry and lead him to the cave so he could get his hands on the golden chest as soon as possible. Just thinking about it made him incredibly excited.
But.
The iron man’s subsequent words were like a bucket of cold water, chilling Su Ran to the core.
“Human, there’s no such thing as a free lunch. You need to pay a certain price to obtain this Skill Book, sothing you need to know in advance.”
“Pay a price? Senior, I got the Skill Book from completing a quest, so why are there additional conditions now?”
Su Ran felt like the iron man was setting a trap for him, waiting for him to fall into it.
“This is not an additional condition. Most golden chests have a Guardian Beast. Once you defeat the Guardian Beast, all the chest’s treasures, regardless of rarity, will be yours!”
“Is that true?”
Su Ran’s interest was piqued instantly. If it’s just a chest’s Guardian Beast, he believed he could handle it. This extra condition wasn’t too difficult. Killing it would grant him all the treasures in the golden chest, which was acceptable.
“I never lie. Human, ahead lies the valley where the golden chest is buried. I wish you good luck.”
The iron man didn’t continue forward, pointing to the valley ahead, “Go on, don’t let down!”
Facing the valley, Su Ran couldn’t resist. Even knowing it was a trap, he had to plunge in without hesitation, as this was a General Skills book, an opportunity not to be missed!
Upon reaching the valley, Su Ran found no trace of the golden chest, nor any unique terrain features. If not for the iron man’s cue, he might have ignored the place entirely.
Since the iron man provided such a clear hint, missing this opportunity would be sheer folly. Therefore, he resud his old trade, recklessly swinging a pickaxe and digging with all his might.
“Clang, clang, clang!”
The familiar sound of mining echoed continuously, and a deep pit was dug into the ground. Finally, persistence paid off—a cave was excavated, revealing a shiny golden chest in front of Su Ran.
“It’s been unearthed!”
Su Ran was overjoyed but cautious, knowing from the iron man’s tip that a Guardian BOSS was hiding there, waiting for him to take the bait!
With this, Su Ran didn’t rely on the iron man, who was rely observing, and instead tossed a fireball toward the chest.
“Boom!”
The fireball exploded upon striking the chest, and a pale gray phantom appeared before him.
“Kill, kill!”
The phantom uttered a single word, its eyes blood-red, charging at Su Ran.
The phantom’s behavior made it clear to Su Ran that it had only one instinct left: slaughter. This wasn’t bad since dealing with the phantom would cut down on many troubles.
As expected, the situation unfolded according to Su Ran’s predictions. The phantom, having lost its mind, couldn’t exhibit even half its strength, allowing Su Ran to easily dispose of it without even summoning his pet. It dropped a few silver coins and so ordinary potions, better than nothing.
Knowing the golden chest was the main prize, Su Ran didn’t bother with the ager loot on the ground and headed straight for the golden chest. Upon reaching it, he breathed a sigh of relief—the golden chest wasn’t locked.
This ant he wouldn’t have to go through unnecessary detours and could obtain the treasures inside imdiately. The system finally did sothing right, giving Su Ran a small pleasant surprise.
Without squandering precious ti, he opened the golden chest, revealing the hidden spoils inside, which almost left Su Ran dazzled.
Two pieces of golden equipnt, one silver equipnt, a Skill Book, a fiery red talisman, dozens of gold coins, and nurous coins.
“Got the Skill Book!”
Su Ran was ecstatic, discarding the equipnt and talisman aside as his attention was fully captured by the Skill Book.
Knowing this was a General Skills book, how could it be compared to golden equipnt and talismans?!
But when he saw the Skill Book’s attributes, he was completely astonished.
“This is…”
