Chapter 2095: Chapter 1684: Coincidence (Double-length) (Part 2)
“Why overthink it? Don’t complicate simple things.”
Su Ran spoke up at this mont, saying indifferently, “It’s really simple. The undead revival makes its identity easy to confirm. As long as this old man reveals the thod to revive the undead, we’ll spare his life temporarily. If he doesn’t, just kill him directly!”
“Overturning Water, I like your decisiveness.”
The suave fellow said aningfully, his eyes sparkling, and even a fool could understand the implication in his words.
“Oh?”
Bei Diao raised an eyebrow, looked at Su Ran with deep aning, then at the suave fellow, as if discovering a new continent, he probed, “Are you two… dating?”
“…”
Su Ran had the impulse to go offline to avoid this topic.
Brother Bei Diao really knows how to pick a sensitive topic intentionally to embarrass him, doesn’t he?
“President Bei Diao, I’d love to date him, but I’m afraid Overturning Water won’t agree…”
The suave fellow put on a hurt look, invoking sympathy.
“Brother Overturning Water, that’s your mistake. Such a perfect girl, and you don’t fancy her?”
Bei Diao shook his head and sighed, “You don’t appreciate it now, but you’ll surely regret it later!”
“Brother, you’ve got it wrong. She’s my sister, and she’s saying it on purpose. How did you take it seriously?”
Su Ran felt uncomfortable all over being talked about and casually tried to brush off the topic.
“Just sister?”
The suave fellow looked at Su Ran plaintively, “Overturning Water, I don’t see you as my brother…”
Upon hearing this, Su Ran felt his head spinning.
“Hey, I didn’t expect you two had this kind of relationship. A sibling relationship isn’t sothing to hide. What’s there to be embarrassed about, as long as there’s no blood relation?”
Bei Diao laughed and said, “Brother Overturning Water, look at you being all shy. Having such a pretty girl interested in you, why hesitate at all? Hurry up and accept her, or I’ll look down on you!”
“…”
The more Bei Diao said, the more Wan’er acted aggrieved. Their combined act directly forced Su Ran into a corner. Just when Su Ran didn’t know how to respond, there ca a startled cry from the undead, drawing the attention of all three.
Su Ran felt as if he had been granted a pardon, relaxing. Contrarily, the suave fellow complained and glared at the undead furiously, who, unaware, had already offended him.
“Undead, what’s wrong?”
Su Ran quickly walked to the undead’s side and asked continuously. This was his benefactor; ignoring him was not an option.
“The old guy wants all the mission materials back before he’ll tell how to revive the undead.”
Undead glanced suspiciously at the white-bearded old man, “Brother Overturning Water, is this guy tricking , deliberately saying so to swindle the mission materials?”
“Mission materials?”
Su Ran paused, then realized the undead was talking about the materials they’d collected: ten Black Sand Centipede hearts, twenty Sand Titan souls, one hundred Sand Scorpion venoms, thirty Sand Eagle claws, and the Sand Wolf King’s eyeballs.
Only, the Evil Fire Furnace had already shattered, so what was this guy’s interest in these materials? Could there be another furnace of so sort?
What exactly was he planning to refine with these materials? Su Ran couldn’t fathom, nor could he guess.
“These are your bargaining chips; don’t rush to give them away. Let’s revive ngsini first.”
Su Ran didn’t think twice and imdiately crushed the undead’s idea.
“But what if he doesn’t believe it?”
“Doesn’t believe? That’s simple; just swear an oath to the system and be done with it. NPCs are usually convinced by that.”
“Alright, I’ll try.”
Undead recited what Su Ran taught him in front of ng Dongni.
“An oath? It’s not impossible, but the oath must follow my words!”
Experienced and cunning, ng Dongni crafted a spiel on the spot and had the undead swear in front of the system.
The oath essentially said that regardless of whether ngsini could be revived, all materials must be handed over to ng Dongni within twenty-four hours. Moreover, during the alchemy process, his personal safety must be guaranteed. Violation of the oath would result in eternal imprisonnt in the Ice Hell, never to rise again!
“Woah, such a harsh oath, and you didn’t change the wording? Foolish much?”
Su Ran heard everything while Undead swore to the sky. And sticking entirely to the NPC’s words? Aren’t you afraid of falling into a trap?
“No need. As long as I can revive Elder ngsini, I’m willing to go all in!”
Undead responded with determined resolve, blinked at Su Ran deliberately and then turned to ng Dongni, “Elder, I’ve made the oath. Now you should fulfill your promise, right? How can Elder ngsini be revived?”
“Haha, humans, what if I tell you? You can never do it!”
ng Dongni’s long-con was successful, and he laughed wildly, casting off all previously humiliated anger.
“How would I know unless you tell ?”
Undead felt a pang in his heart, but outwardly remained calm. Evidently, both he and ng Dongni were scheming, and it’s uncertain who will have the last laugh.
Su Ran didn’t understand the aning behind Undead’s blink, but he knew Undead wasn’t a fool and likely had a solution for the oath. So he didn’t say more, opting to take things one step at a ti.
“Human, listen well.”
ng Dongni stroked his long white beard, sneering as he spoke, “ngsini is dead, that much is true. However, his soul has not entered reincarnation, and his flesh remains. All you need to do is find his soul and reunite it with the body, then ngsini will naturally revive.”
“Soul? Elder, could you be more specific? Where is his soul currently?”
Undead imdiately asked. As long as he could get useful clues, he would find a way to solve the problem. After all, this was a part of the mission, and Elder ngsini was destined to be revived, that’s for certain.
“Human, I advise you not to hold out hope; best give up as soon as possible. The truth is, his soul is sealed in a mirror space sowhere in the Ice Prison realm, where a mirror exists. Even if you find it, who knows when that might be? Oh right, I forget to ntion, the physical body is exposed to air and only lasts for one hour. Exceed the ti limit, and the mission is deed a failure!”
“What? Mirror space?”
Undead was initially stunned, then a burst of joy crossed his face. He asked, nervous yet excited, “Elder, the mirror space you speak of, is it the White Platinum BOSS Evil Spirit White Spider’s territory?”
“How do you know?”
ng Dongni’s mocking expression froze, clearly surprised.
“I watched the TV; it was reported in the news.”
“What nonsense. Even knowing the mirror space won’t help you, you can’t get past the Evil Spirit White Spider blockade!”
ng Dongni was not optimistic about Undead’s chances, continuing to undermine his confidence. “Let’s say in the unlikely event you evade the Evil Spirit White Spider’s assassination, you still won’t find the actual soul’s resting place!”
“Soul’s resting place? Elder, are you referring to that ingot-shaped coffin?”
Undead grew increasingly closer to the truth, how could he not be excited? ng Dongni’s hint brought to mind the ingot coffin marked with ten characters—
“Not Entering the Cycle of Rebirth, Coffin Locks the Rejuvenating Soul.”
Since the soul is sealed in the coffin, doesn’t that match perfectly?!
But without a definite answer, Undead dared not act rashly. If he blundered, the embarrassnt would be imnse!
“You even know about that coffin?”
ng Dongni’s expression turned imnsely bleak, “Did you already visit that? Such a hidden location, how did you find it?”
“Elder, since you’ve sincerely asked, I won’t hide anything from you. Let tell you the truth: my hotown is there, and I grew up in that space. I can find even a rat’s den!”
Undead spoke bald-faced lies, managing to sound extrely authentic, causing the suave fellow beside him to chuckle softly.
