ng Dongni sneered, showing no sign of being captured, lightly stroking his white beard and saying no more.
"Too lazy to deceive ? How can you say that with a straight face at your age? Have so sha, will you?"
Almost laughing in anger, Zha Shi pointed at ng Dongni’s nose and questioned, "I’m looking for Elder ng Sini, how co you’re giving the task continuation? Isn’t this a trick? A so-called white lie? Bah!"
"Human, this is your fault. When did I ever tell you my identity? It’s just your own assumption!"
ng Dongni was too lazy to argue, gripping the Snake Staff tightly, his lips moving as if muttering so spell.

Zha Shi was so angry he was trembling, almost unable to suppress the urge to charge over and fight this NPC. But thinking again, he realized he wasn’t a match for the old man and had to endure it, sulking on his own.

Anger surfaced on ng Dongni’s face, and the fury inside him was unimaginable. The spell was about to be completed, but it got interrupted brutally. No wonder he was upset!
He gave Big Smoke Guy a surreptitious glare, then lowered his head, lying on the ground without getting up.

Big Smoke Guy’s brows furrowed, and he circled around ng Dongni a couple of tis, but upon finding nothing, he had to let it be.
All their gazes were now focused on Zha Shi, eager to find out whether the second cage indeed held the so-called task NPC.
With Su Ran and Creamy Youngster’s help, Zha Shi quickly reached the edge of the cage, wasting little ti.
"Haha, now it’s ti to witness a miracle!"
This related to his ongoing task, so how could Zha Shi not be excited? He rubbed his hands eagerly and then used the Peeling thod skill on the cage.

The black curtain vanished, and the hidden secrets inside were exposed to everyone’s view.

Seeing the scene before him, Zha Shi’s face turned a bit unnatural. Lying in front of him was a dried-out corpse. Even the skeletal outline was visible, making him dread to think about the suffering this NPC must’ve endured in life.

Su Ran felt sothing was amiss. If this were the task NPC, it shouldn’t have died like this. There might be a plot twist!
And the only hope lay in the task prompt, only that could offer useful clues to continue the quest.

Hearing Su Ran’s words, Zha Shi suddenly realized and his eyes lit up again. As he was about to check the task, the longti prone ng Dongni suddenly burst into laughter.
"Hahaha, ng Sini, you really are dead!"
ng Dongni laughed heartily, unaffected by his current predicant. But before he could finish, he got kicked in the rear.
"Behave yourself. He’s dead, and you won’t last long either. You still have the nerve to mock him? A pot calling the kettle black?"
