"Phew, as long as big brother is okay!"
Seeing this harmonious scene, the stone hanging in Banana’s heart finally landed. However, doubt arose within him - it’s just a scroll, how could it take so long to refine? It even affected the Skeleton BOSS, which is too exaggerated!
Could it be that Overturning Water’s guess was correct?
"Elf Warrior, are you certain this scroll was unearthed along with the Dragon Head Coffin?"
The Skeleton Saint’s eyes flickered. After a mont of contemplation, he gazed intently into Banana’s eyes and asked solemnly.
"I dug up the Dragon Head Coffin with my own hands. How could it be fake? Besides, why would I lie to you? What benefit would I get?"
Banana responded irritably. Was he really so untrustworthy? From his appearance, he didn’t seem like such a deceitful person at all!
"If that’s the case, then it all makes sense."
The Skeleton Saint nodded thoughtfully, stopped paying attention to Banana, and looked at the bone cauldron where the flas were burning fiercely, indicating the refining process was proceeding smoothly.
...
"Damn, is this never-ending refining?"
At this mont, Su Ran’s attention was fully focused on the scroll inside the bone cauldron. The cauldron’s fire was burning intensely, but the scroll remained unchanged, continuously shedding black ash. A shallow layer had already accumulated at the bottom of the cauldron. Estimating that it would take one or two more days to refine completely, Su Ran couldn’t stop mid-process and could only continue.
"Huh?"
Just as he was feeling frustrated, a mysterious energy surged in, as if it was an accelerant for the cauldron fire. The flas erupted into a heat wave, continuously surging within the bone cauldron. The temperature increased sharply, even he, the owner, felt the fiery atmosphere and found it quite strange.
However, this was a good sign. If this trend continued, the scroll would be refined in no ti. Su Ran was overjoyed, secretly thinking to himself that when good luck cos, nothing can stop it!
"Swish, swish, swish..."
Under the continuous scouring of the heat wave, the scroll finally showed signs of lting, slowly deforming at a visible speed. Before long, it lted into a liquid mass, and as the cauldron fire kept burning, this liquid mass was refined into the shape of a tower, emitting a blood-red glow.
The tower’s suspended state did not last long; it fell into the black ash below, becoming dim and ashen, even its glow was obscured.
At this point, the heat wave slowly subsided, and the temperature inside the bone cauldron was significantly affected. No matter how much magic value Su Ran injected, he couldn’t reverse the situation. He understood this ant the refinent process was nearing its end. When the bone cauldron completely cooled, it would be ti to open it and claim the treasure!
As ti passed, Su Ran lost track of how long it had been, but finally, the thrilling mont arrived. Su Ran had already deciphered the hidden poem, thus knowing the identity of this tower. It was the Heart and Soul of that brown skeleton, capable of unlocking the Dragon Head Coffin’s seal!
"Finally done... Oh dear!"
Having accomplished the scroll’s refinent, Su Ran was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief. When he retracted his ntal focus, he was startled by a massive skull in front of him. It almost scared the soul out of him, causing him to instinctively back away. After just a couple of steps, realization dawned on him: if the Skeleton BOSS intended to kill him, it would have done so long ago, not waited until the refinent was over.
Wait.
Could the anomaly inside the bone cauldron just now have been caused by this skeleton?
Seeing the brown skeleton’s posture, Su Ran beca increasingly convinced of the possibility. Only then did his tense mood ease, with fear banished from his heart. He stopped, gathered his courage, and walked boldly toward the brown skeleton.
"Senior, it’s all thanks to your help that the scroll was successfully refined. If I had done it alone, it would’ve taken three to five days to finish."
Approaching, Su Ran proactively engaged, expressing to the Skeleton BOSS that he bore no malice.
From afar, Banana watched Su Ran with bated breath. Being so close to this Skeleton BOSS— what if it decided to kill him? Murder for treasure is common. With such apparent possessiveness over the bone cauldron, and Overturning Water daring to approach it, even a skilled person wouldn’t be so reckless!
The Skeleton Saint, however, wasn’t surprised and didn’t intervene, allowing the plot to unfold. It also wanted to understand what treasure was refined from the scroll that even captivated this skeleton so much.
"Gim, gim, gim!"
The brown skeleton stood up, reaching out to Su Ran in demand, afraid Su Ran wouldn’t understand and pointing frantically at the bone cauldron while nodding urgently.
"Don’t rush; the Heart and Soul are originally yours. I’m not competing with you."
Su Ran found it sowhat amusing. This brown skeleton had regained so intelligence, using body language to express its desires, a major improvent from when it first erged from the coffin.
"Good, good."
Understanding Su Ran’s words, the brown skeleton stopped making random gestures, waiting obediently in place with eager eyes on the bone cauldron, anticipating Su Ran to open it.
"Wow, big brother, you really are sothing!"
Seeing this, Banana was extrely surprised. He didn’t expect Overturning Water to beco so familiar with the Skeleton BOSS after just one encounter. That was incredibly fast!
He bypassed the Skeleton Saint in front and jogged over to Su Ran’s side. He needed to see what was so special about this scroll that made the BOSS treat Overturning Water so respectfully.
The Skeleton Saint quickly moved forward, curiously staring at the bone cauldron, awaiting the treasure’s appearance.
"Haha, everyone’s here? Then let’s serve the dish!"
With the successful refinent invoking such interest from two BOSSes, Su Ran was filled with a sense of accomplishnt. No longer teasing, he directly opened the bone cauldron.
Imdiately, he took out the grayish tower, only for it to be snatched away by the brown skeleton before he could introduce it, stuffing it into its mouth.
"Swish!"
Like ice cream, the tower lted instantly upon entering, filling the skeleton’s fra with a blood-red glow that flickered like faulty wiring.
"Big brother, what exactly did you refine?"
Banana, who hadn’t fully understood, was bewildered as the skeleton BOSS snitched it away. His curiosity unfulfilled, how could he stand it!
But even without an explanation from Overturning Water, he realized the scroll was indeed a treasure. Thanks to big brother’s discerning eye, the scroll wasn’t squandered but refined into sothing precious. A pity it was swallowed by the Skeleton BOSS as soon as it appeared, which seed rather ruthless!
Normally, he’d complain about such behavior!
"Banana, it was originally the Skeleton Senior’s Heart and Soul, so it rely returned to its rightful owner."
Su Ran spoke softly, unperturbed by the tower being snatched, watching the skeleton intently to see if integrating the Heart and Soul would induce a significant transformation. If it evolved into a Saint-level BOSS, the Undead could truly rise!
"Heart and Soul? How do you know?"
Banana asked, puzzled. After all, he had examined the scroll and found no indication it contained the Skeleton BOSS’s Heart and Soul. It was peculiar!
"Didn’t you see the poem?"
"I did, but it made no sense. How could it be called a poem? It was nonsensical, neither rhyming nor coherent. I thought it was just to pad out the scroll’s text!"
Banana spoke candidly, seeing nothing wrong with his perspective.
"I’m amazed you missed such a simple hidden poem!"
"Hidden poem?"
Hearing Su Ran, Banana paused. Recalling the few lines, he muttered to himself, "Magic refining... Heart and Soul!"
"Now I see. No wonder you had such confidence in refining the scroll, bringing the Heart and Soul back into the light. Even if I understood, it wouldn’t help; without the bone cauldron, it can’t be refined and would just gather dust..."
At this realization, he looked at Su Ran with admiration. Just as he was about to say more, the Skeleton Saint interrupted.
"Skeleton Warrior, you have perford a great service this ti. This king will reward you generously!"
