Chapter 1711: Chapter 1490: Unboxing and Inspecting Treasures (Two-in-One)_2
“No rush, the grand treasure has to be saved for last. Let’s figure out the attributes of these smaller items first!”
Su Ran ignored Yin Si’s suggestion. He preferred unveiling the mysteries of treasures step by step. Only then could the sense of anticipation build up. Yin Si, though, couldn’t quite grasp such a feeling.
“Whatever, since all this stuff belongs to you anyway. I’m not in a hurry.”
Yin Si glanced at the second blueprint and let out a soft ‘hmm’. “Hey, little skeleton, this blueprint looks familiar. Haven’t we co across sothing like this before?”
“Tch, these parchnts all look the sa. Of course it seems familiar to you!”
Su Ran felt this shrewd rchant was always putting on airs. To boost its sense of superiority, it could say almost anything. Just as Su Ran planned to throw shade at him further, his eyes caught sight of the four large characters marked on the blueprint. His whole body froze on the spot. After a long pause, he finally murmured in disbelief, “Lord Yin Si, I take back what I said earlier. I truly have seen this blueprint before. Your appraisal skills are indeed impressive—I am deeply humbled!”
“Hehe, live for another few thousand years, and you’ll develop this kind of sharp insight too.”
“Yeah, right! I’ve no hope of living that long. If I make it to eighty or a hundred, I’ll already be thanking the heavens.”
Su Ran was all too aware of his current physical state. Even living one more year felt like a luxury. He took life one step at a ti.
“So, what’s up with this blueprint? It doesn’t look like a construction blueprint. Could it be sothing special?”
Yin Si voiced his guess. The blueprint failed to pique his interest. Even his tone remained completely unperturbed.
“Impressive! You actually guessed right. This is precisely a Strengthened Building Blueprint, the one used to improve the Demon-sealing Platform.”
Su Ran rembered clearly how the blueprint had once significantly enhanced the attributes of the Demon-sealing Platform. Combined with the Architectural Grandmaster Lu Yue’s 20% bonus, strengthening any sort of building would yield monuntal transformation!
Of course, just don’t strengthen a residential house—any other building will work just fine!
[Strengthened Building](Special Blueprint) (Advanced)
Can be used to randomly strengthen a building within the territory.
“Damn, this is actually an advanced blueprint!”
Su Ran was completely stunned. He hadn’t expected the system to hand him such a lavish gift!
Even construction blueprints had a high-level version—this was just absurd!
No wonder the blueprint was swapped for parchnt. Now the reason beca clear.
Regular blueprints could only upgrade ordinary buildings. Advanced blueprints could even strengthen special buildings—pure extravagance!
“Advanced version?”
Even Yin Si looked visibly surprised. “Little skeleton, your luck truly defies logic. Throughout history, advanced Strengthened Building Blueprints have been exceedingly rare—you can count them on one hand. Unfortunately, those attempting to upgrade special buildings have all failed.”
“What? It’s that difficult? Did I just get happy for nothing?”
Su Ran imdiately deflated. He had hoped to use this blueprint to upgrade the Guardian Thunder Tower, but upon hearing the near-zero success rate, his excitent plumted from cloud nine right into despair.
“It’s not certain. Based on how lucky you are, it’s worth a shot. Who knows, you might create a miracle.”
Yin Si seed optimistic about Su Ran, even offering a pep talk to boost his morale. After all, mood swings and Luck Value were closely correlated. A good mood often brought good fortune—an old adage proven true: happy people tend to be luckier!
“Let’s hope so. This ti, I need to prepare thoroughly before using the blueprint. I can’t afford to waste it carelessly.”
Su Ran recalled the Soul Devouring Sand’s curse skill, which forcibly deducted three points of Luck Value. This could significantly impact the outco and was certainly not sothing to overlook!
(Soul Devouring Sand Curse—An insidious curse that corrodes the holder’s spirit. Health -100, Defense -30, Luck Value -3.)
“Thorough preparation? Don’t tell your Luck Value can still be improved?”
Yin Si was thoroughly startled. This Skeleton Lord never failed to amaze him, ti after ti. Even now, he managed to bring back an incredibly rare Mithril treasure chest—it had been nearly a thousand years since Yin Si had seen one!
“Once the warehouse is built, you’ll see for yourself.”
Su Ran didn’t elaborate further. Even if he explained to this NPC, it wouldn’t be of any help—everything would depend on Su Ran alone.
As for the gemstones, their quality was rely “excellent,” incomparable to the two blueprints. Su Ran didn’t hide anything from Yin Si and promptly summoned his magic pet, the Darknight Thunder Dragon, handing over all the gemstones. If they could increase the dragon’s loyalty, it would be worth it!
Sure enough, when the Darknight Thunder Dragon saw the shiny gemstones, it instantly conveyed its excitent, swallowing them without hesitation. Its loyalty imdiately rose by two points.
“Haha! One step closer to 90 loyalty points. It won’t be long before I can finally ride a dragon!”
Su Ran’s heart overflowed with joy as he envisioned the Darknight Thunder Dragon’s ultimate form—dominating the skies and the land alike, unparalleled!
“Little skeleton, you sure are willing to invest heavily. These gemstones aren’t cheap, yet you just fed them away so casually. Such waste.”
Yin Si watched from the side, distressed. No matter how wealthy one might be, this kind of squandering simply didn’t make sense!
“Roar! Roar!”
The Darknight Thunder Dragon was imdiately displeased upon hearing this. It let out two low, warning growls in Yin Si’s direction, hinting for him to stop talking and quit influencing the master.
“Stop causing trouble and get back here!”
Su Ran feared a clash between the dragon and Yin Si, hastily recalling the pet back into its storage space. Only then did he feel relieved, though he couldn’t help but worry about the recklessness of the dragon’s actions. Yin Si, after all, wasn’t soone to trifle with. Even with Su Ran’s current wisdom and insight, he couldn’t fathom Yin Si’s actual strength. For an NPC like this, it was best not to provoke—it was safer to treat them like deities.
“Little skeleton, your dragon pet sure has a fiery temperant. But that’s just how the Dragon Clan is—nine dragons out of ten are arrogant. It’s simply in their blood, so it’s understandable.”
Yin Si’s gaze never once left the scroll in Su Ran’s hands. The appearance of the Darknight Thunder Dragon had done little to divert his attention. “It’s ti for the scroll now—hurry up and open it, don’t waste ti.”
“Odd. I can’t see anything special about this scroll. Lord Yin Si, is there so secret to your gear appraisal? Can you teach ?”
Su Ran examined the scroll closely but couldn’t find anything out of the ordinary. It looked like any other scroll. If only he had Yin Si’s discerning eye—it would be such a blessing!
“There’s no secret. It’s rely the accumulation of experience over countless years. There are no shortcuts.”
Yin Si replied indifferently, his expression unchanging.
“Alright, my expectations were too naive.”
Su Ran gave up hope and directly unfolded the scroll.
“Swish!”
A flash of golden light streaked past, followed imdiately by a system notification.
“Ding! Congratulations, Skeleton Player, on acquiring a special quest. Find Old Granny, return the Mysterious Book, and you will receive a generous reward.”
“Mysterious Book? Is this a joke? How does this look like a book at all…”
Su Ran barely had ti to finish his tirade before the scroll in his hands began to morph. Golden light radiated over its surface, accelerating its transformation into a thick, heavy to. Su Ran hefted it in his hands—it was indeed solid.
As he flipped it open, sure enough, the book lived up to its na—not a single word was written on its pages. Calling it the “Mysterious Book” was an apt choice.
Even a detection technique yielded no hints whatsoever, proving that unless he found Old Granny, this Mysterious Book was utterly useless.
Though Su Ran had no clue about the NPC’s whereabouts, he didn’t worry too much. After all, the Mithril treasure chest ca from Qing Qi’s quest space, likely tied to Old Granny. When the ti ca, he could just ask Qing Qi—she probably knew where Old Granny could be found.
Later, Su Ran relayed details about the Mysterious Book and Old Granny to Yin Si, hoping for so hints about the quest. However, to his surprise, Yin Si remained impassive, only stating three words: “Don’t miss out.”
“Swish! Swish!”
Suddenly, two teleportation beams appeared in succession. The figures of Banana and Xue Wuqing began to materialize slowly.
“Little skeleton, don’t say a word. Just watch reel them in.”
Yin Si gave Su Ran an advance warning, in case he ssed up the plan.
“…”
Su Ran was utterly speechless. He didn’t even know what to say anymore. To con others so openly, without a shred of sha—only Yin Si, this crafty rchant, could pull it off.
Banana, Xue Wuqing, you two better brace yourselves…
