“Just these two items. The bosses were disappointing, didn’t drop any good stuff. All my hopes are pinned on this map now. As for the silver treasure chest, it’s useless without a key; we’ll have to wait till we find one.”
Su Ran tucked away the silver treasure chest with a grin and said, “Speaking of which, you should be thanking this treasure map. Without its guidance, I wouldn’t have found you so quickly.”

Su Ran walked to the dead tree, stepping through the grass. After circling around for a mont, he seed to have discovered sothing and gestured for Qing Qi to co over. “Hey, co check this out!”
“What is it?”
Qing Qi’s eyes lit up, hurrying to Su Ran’s side. Following his gesture, she finally noticed a narrow path leading away from the tree. Not a blade of grass grew on the trail, its surface mottled with cracks, standing out starkly.
“Overturning Water, why does this trail feel like a road to doom?”
Seeing the path lead deeper into the space, a sudden foreboding struck Qing Qi. She felt the deep recesses ahead were fraught with danger—as if they were walking straight into a trap.
“You girls have a sharp sixth sense—it’s likely true. Systems don’t let players nab treasures so easily.”
Su Ran nodded in agreent. “Still, the riskier the place, the better the quality of the loot. Danger and opportunity go hand in hand. Looks like this map is high-value!”
“Duh! Treasure maps from the Special Mission Space—are they ever lousy? If those bosses dropped this map, just be happy about it and stop complaining!”
Analyzing further, Qing Qi added, “The silver treasure chest is probably paired with the map. Maybe during the upcoming adventure, we’ll snag the silver key. Believe it?”
“That’d be aweso—no regrets, then! What’s your plan? You’ve got the stone core already. Should we bail on this tricky terrain and complete the main quest, or keep exploring?”
This side story wasn’t mandatory, so Su Ran felt it prudent to ask beforehand. If Qing Qi accidentally died and blad him, it’d be a terrible situation.
“Do you even need to ask? Little Su, let’s roll!”
“Great, now it’s ‘Little Su.’ Why don’t you reveal all your nicknas at once so I can be ntally prepared?”

A blue force field appeared in the bat’s path. Caught off guard, the bat couldn’t stop in ti and collided straight into it. Blue light wrapped around its body, staining it completely blue.
To Su Ran’s shock, the force field seemingly disabled the bat’s flight capabilities. No matter how hard its bone wings flapped, it couldn’t stay airborne, plunging straight into the water.
The rest was inevitable—the bat hit the river, and the human-eating fish sward, devouring it completely.

He whipped out two talismanic charms, handing one to Qing Qi.
“Overturning Water, what kind of talisman is this? I don’t think I’ve ever seen it before.”
Examining its attributes, Qing Qi exclaid, “A Calamity Avoiding Charm! The stats are incredible!”
“This charm gives us an hour’s safety window, preventing monsters below Dark Gold Rank from attacking us—should work perfectly against these fish.”
Su Ran confidently activated a charm and grinned at Qing Qi. “I’ll test its effects first—if it works, you follow behind.”
“Overturning Water, are you sure this charm’s reliable?”
Even with the protection of the charm, Qing Qi hesitated to face the mass of human-eating fish head-on. If the charm failed, it spelled disaster!
“Relax—it’s guaranteed! These fish aren’t even close to reaching Dark Gold Rank!”
Su Ran cracked a smile before boldly stepping into the river.
