Chapter 1689: Chapter 1476: Mo Qing Qi in Danger
Following the coordinates hinted at by the treasure map, Su Ran returned to the pit of stones and only then realized that the location was actually within the cave.

Following the treasure map’s guidance, Su Ran cautiously arrived at a more spacious area. The dim visibility made his heart restless—had it not been for the hidden treasure here, he wouldn’t even think of coming to such a decrepit place!
Suddenly.
The walls around him abruptly crumbled, unleashing countless sharp arrows that streaked toward Su Ran.
“As expected, there’s a trap!”
Su Ran had been anticipating this trick all along. He imdiately leaped down to the ground, dodging the rain of arrows overhead. Then, he commanded the Shield Skeleton Warriors to form a tight circle, using their bone shields as cover to withstand the ambush.
“Whizz, whizz, whizz!”
The arrows poured down like torrential rain, scattering across the skies and hamring down on Su Ran’s makeshift bone shield fortress.
After enduring the onslaught, the Shield Skeleton Warriors passed the test flawlessly; not a single one was destroyed. Protected within the fortifications, Su Ran barely lost any health. After waiting for half a minute and confirming the traps had completely subsided, he finally stepped out from the pile of skeletons.
A lingering fear showed on Su Ran’s face. Good thing he had summoned the Shield Skeleton Warriors in advance—had he not, evading this rain of arrows would have been far from simple.
This ti, Su Ran dared not recklessly use the Treading on Air Technique again. He replenished the skeletons’ health using graveyard grass, surrounding himself with them, then commanded his Thunder Bat clone to fly deeper into the cave. His plan was to use the bat to scout the terrain ahead and trigger all traps along the way so he himself could avoid danger.
“Squeak~ Squeak!”
The Thunder Bat darted through the darkness, nimbly dodging protruding stones, and in no ti, flew nearly a hundred ters forward. Surprisingly, no danger crossed its path; none of the traps or chanisms were triggered.

Unwilling to give up, he controlled the Thunder Bat to circle around further, yet he still couldn’t find anything unusual. Just at that mont, a scream echoed from far away. Su Ran froze montarily, then quickly grasped the situation—it was undeniably Qing Qi’s scream!
“Why would she end up here?!”
Hearing Qing Qi’s screams, Su Ran didn’t even need to guess; she must have run into danger. Without hesitation, he commanded the Thunder Bat to speedily fly toward the depths of the cave.
While his consciousness had yet to return to his own body, Su Ran’s main forces didn’t make any premature moves. He wasn’t sure what kind of peril Qing Qi was in—was it the treasure’s guardian? Or that obnoxious guy, Overturning Water?
The answer could only be revealed upon seeing for himself.

At this mont, Qing Qi was equal parts anxious and angry, her frustration beyond description. Currently trapped in a peculiar state, her body was enveloped in a radiant glow, completely immobilized. Above her hovered a golden sphere of light, flickering erratically and bobbing up and down, unstable in appearance.
“Hahaha, woman, your luck isn’t small. Even such a secluded place couldn’t slip past you!”
The Green Hat player erged from the darkness, striding toward Qing Qi.
“It’s you! You’re so despicable—following like that!”
Qing Qi finally realized that the scoundrel Green Hat hadn’t pursued Overturning Water but had instead tracked her all the way here!
“Don’t be so harsh. It’s pure coincidence that I ran into this. I didn’t know why, but sohow I found my way here, and luckily arrived just in ti for this show. Woman, your trick of deceiving the heavens worked pretty well—even Spilt Water Can’t Be Regained was fooled by you!”
Standing two ters away from Qing Qi, the Green Hat player stopped and grinned sinisterly. “Such a juicy piece of cake—hogging it all for yourself isn’t fair, is it? At the very least, don’t you think we should split it fifty-fifty?”
“You—you’re spouting nonsense!”
Qing Qi was on the verge of tears. After painstakingly advancing the hidden quest to this stage, if this scoundrel caused its failure, the opportunity would be gone forever. Resigned, she pleaded with a subdued tone, “I have no quarrel with you; can you really bring yourself to bully a girl like this? I promise—when you go one-on-one with Spilt Water Can’t Be Regained, I swear I won’t intervene. Is that acceptable?”
“Heh. Are you scared?”
The Green Hat player’s grin grew wider. “I just love seeing people like you—hating but ultimately unable to defeat . Sure, we had no grudge before, but now it’s different. I’ve decided to pick a fight with you, so what now?”
“You’re shaless!”
“Thank you. That’s one of my strengths—you’ve got quite the sharp eye to notice it. So flattered~”
Finishing his words, the Green Hat player’s smile abruptly vanished. His tone turned cold. “Trying to stall for ti with ? Fat chance! If you must bla soone, bla Spilt Water Can’t Be Regained instead!”
“Break it for !”
Malice glinted in Green Hat’s eyes as he activated his Jump Cut skill. Raising his longsword high, he swung it down toward the golden light sphere hovering above Qing Qi.
“No!!!”
Qing Qi let out a blood-curdling scream. Helplessly immobilized, she could do nothing but watch as Green Hat’s sword slamd into the sphere, bracing for the system’s impending “inheritance failed” notification.
But then.
Sothing unexpected happened.
The golden sphere absorbed the powerful strike in its entirety and rebounded Green Hat, sending him flying backward. Such an outco was beyond what Qing Qi ever dared imagine.
Yet the situation remained grim. After enduring the hit, the golden sphere started to show cracks, and its light dimd significantly, giving the impression it might extinguish at any mont.
One consolation for Qing Qi was that the inheritance process hadn’t been interrupted—she still had a fighting chance. Should the transfer complete before Green Hat unleashed his second assault, she could et her end without regret.
Unfortunately, Green Hat didn’t give her the chance. He swiftly climbed to his feet and charged toward the sphere again, clearly intent on preventing her from obtaining the inheritance.
“Spilt Water, hurry up and co here!!!”
Qing Qi instinctively scread. She wasn’t ready to lose this rare opportunity; even the tiniest glimr of hope wasn’t sothing she would willingly abandon!
“Hahaha, scream all you want! Even if your throat splits, no one’s coming to save you!”
Green Hat laughed heartily in delight. To him, the matter was as good as settled. Not even the gods could stop him from smashing the golden sphere.
But then, his laughter abruptly ceased—a Thunder Bat crackling with lightning descended from above, hitting him with trendous speed and knocking him away.
