Chapter 1680: Chapter 1469: The Annoying Stone Grave (Two in One)

“Overturning Water, let’s go! Why aren’t you moving?”

Qing Qi was surprised to find Su Ran standing still, staring at the stone pit like a puppet, completely motionless, while the Skeleton Bird flew towards the pit.

“Overturning Water, snap out of it!”

No matter how she called him, Su Ran wouldn’t respond, which left her bewildered, unable to discern what was happening here.

“Could it be… there’s a monster here capable of mind control?”

Qing Qi grew increasingly uneasy, worry filling her heart. If anything happened to Overturning Water, her mission would surely fail yet again.

To be fair.

This was partly Su Ran’s fault for not explaining things to Qing Qi beforehand, which led to the current misunderstanding. If it were a more scheming teammate, Su Ran might really have been in danger this ti.

Luckily.

She didn’t interrupt Su Ran and quietly stayed put, waiting for him to return to normal.

At that mont, Su Ran had already followed the Thunder Bat and flown down into the stone pit. That’s when he discovered three tombstones at the bottom of the pit, each about one and a half ters tall, engraved with alien scripts—crooked and entirely indecipherable. Below the tombstones were three graves stacked with stones.

“Stone graves? Ha, looks like luck is on my side!”

Seeing the graves, Su Ran perked up imdiately. Particularly unusual graves like these—they were bound to hold treasure!

Thinking of this, Su Ran quickly returned his consciousness to his real body and shouted to Qing Qi, “Qing Qi, there are three graves in the stone pit!”

“Graves? Are you talking about those three stone graves? This ga has graves all over the place—there are hundreds back at Sinister Grave Ridge alone! Just three stone graves, what’s so surprising about that?”

Qing Qi felt Su Ran was overreacting a bit, but she suddenly paused, as if recalling sothing, and asked, “Huh? Overturning Water, your pet hasn’t co back yet, so how do you know there are stone graves in that pit? Spill it—do you have Clairvoyance or Wind-Hearing Ear?”

“You’ve watched too many gourd baby cartoons! If I had skills like that, I’d have gone to save the world long ago instead of playing this ga!”

Su Ran felt utterly speechless. Unsure if her words were ant as praise or sarcasm, he casually explained, “Here’s a little tutorial for you. I have a special skill that lets share my pet’s vision. It’s just a small trick, nothing with offensive capability.”

“Shared vision? No wonder you were standing there like a wooden plank just now and didn’t respond no matter how much I called out—I thought you’d been ambushed by a boss!”

Qing Qi’s eyes lit up. “This skill’s drawback is deadly. Once your pet’s vision is shared, your real body becos vulnerable. If soone ambushes you, how unjust would that be!”

You’re absolutely right!

Su Ran froze for a mont, and, realizing this drawback, a chill crept up his spine. His health and defense stats were low—he’s basically a glass cannon. If Qing Qi had chosen to ambush him, he’d definitely be in major trouble this ti!

Fortunately, she’s not that type of person. The worst-case scenario didn’t happen, which served as a personal wake-up call: going forward, he had to ensure his own safety before using shared vision.

“Qing Qi, thanks for the reminder—I completely overlooked this.”

Su Ran’s gratitude was evident in his tone. “If it had been soone more conniving, I might not have made it out this ti.”

“Hmm, recognizing your mistake makes you a good comrade. Overturning Water, you’re a decent guy—no airs of a top player like so people have. So folks puff themselves up just because they’ve got a bit of skill, acting all high and mighty, as though everyone else is beneath them. I can’t even bother associating with people like that!”

Qing Qi recalled past experiences, seeming a bit aggrieved. Clearly, she’d suffered because of this before, or she wouldn’t hold such deep-seated feelings.

“No kidding—there sure are plenty of people like that!”

Su Ran’s mind flashed to the image of Dai Xuan, who, ard with his Dancing Demons guild, monopolized leveling-up maps and left newbie players disgruntled, earning himself a foul reputation.

“Let’s not dwell on those dull topics. Overturning Water, judging by how excited you were about the stone graves earlier, do you have a plan?”

Qing Qi flicked her ponytail, her smile reappearing. “Or have you found a way to clear the level?”

“What kind of strategy? We need to kill two bosses to obtain two Stone Cores—that’s what you told , or have you forgotten already?”

Su Ran’s gaze pierced through layers of obstacles, landing back on the stone pit in the distance before he spoke. “I’m thinking… I’ll dig up the graves!”

“Ugh, you can dig all you want—I’m not taking part!”

Qing Qi’s face turned pale at that remark. She imdiately made her stance clear, leaving no room for negotiation. “You’ve got so nerve. Aren’t you scared of getting haunted? What if sothing follows you out of the ga and you start having nightmares?”

“My ancestors were tomb raiders, you know.”

Su Ran grinned broadly, showing zero hesitation. Nearly all the treasures he’d acquired in the ga had co from grave-digging. How could he pass up these stone graves? Even if triggering two bosses was the price, it would be worth it!

“You… Fine, dig by yourself. Just don’t gross out!”

Qing Qi was completely defeated by Su Ran. The world really was full of all sorts of people—even tomb-digging could bring soone this much excitent. Truly rare!

“Hey, that’s exactly what I intended. By the way, if I do end up finding treasure, what’s the split gonna be?”

Before starting to dig, Su Ran laid the division issue out on the table to avoid unnecessary disputes later.
