Xue Wuqing said sothing fair, offering Su Ran an exit to diffuse the awkward tension around the topic.

Su Ran cast her a grateful look, only to be t with an eyeroll. Scratching his head sheepishly, he turned his attention to Luta.
At that mont, Luta was holding the Ice Bead steady in front of his chest. He took out a vial of pale green liquid and began dripping it onto the bead without pause.
The mont the green liquid touched the Ice Bead, it triggered what looked like a chemical reaction. The liquid started to boil, bubbling furiously, emitting gurgling sounds. Su Ran’s heart raced—he was terrified sothing might go wrong with the Ice Bead.
Luta, on the other hand, remained perfectly calm. Even his expression was indifferent, as though he were doing sothing completely trivial. There wasn’t a shred of concern on his face. It seed that unlocking the Ice Bead was no challenge to him—it showed his confidence.
Seeing Luta’s annoyingly casual deanor, Su Ran felt a strong urge to snatch the bead back. This was an ancient, precious treasure, not so cheap street-side trinket!
If the unlocking failed and the bead vanished, even giving up this Lifeline Mountain wouldn’t be enough compensation!

“Skeleton Warrior, the seal above has been removed. This Ice Bead is yours now.”
Reluctantly, Luta handed the Ice Bead to Su Ran, not forgetting to advise him, “I hope you’ll cherish it and not use it for heinous acts.”
“Don’t worry, elder. I’ve never been fond of violent deeds. People call ‘The Honest Young Sir.’ As for heinous acts, I wouldn’t dare even think about them!”
The mont the Ice Bead landed in Su Ran’s hand, his nervous heart finally settled. He imdiately brought it close to examine its attributes.

Skill 4: Underwater Breathing—Grants the wielder the ability to breathe freely underwater without oxygen deprivation. Increases underwater movent speed by 2.
Note: Borne of the heavens and earth, this artifact possesses unfathomable power.

Su Ran took in a sharp breath, his eyes filled with disbelief. He never expected that after the Ice Bead’s seal was unlocked, every one of its skills would receive noticeable enhancents!
The Ice Arrow skill saw a 10% attack boost, 1 extra Freeze effect, and an additional point of accuracy. Thousand-Mile Ice Seal’s cooldown ti was halved. Ice Shield gained 100 extra defense and a chance to fully block damage. The Underwater Breathing skill even gained a 2 boost to underwater mobility. Amazing!
At that mont, Su Ran felt as though a giant pie had fallen squarely from the sky onto his head. He stood there dazed, his expression gradually changing to a foolish grin.
“Brother Overturning Water, what’s wrong with you? It’s hard to tell whether you’re laughing or crying with your mouth hanging open like that. Did the unlocking fail? Or was it incomplete?”
Banana eyed Su Ran, standing still with his skeletal face betraying no emotions, and instinctively imagined the worst. He couldn’t help but offer comfort, “It’s okay if it failed. As long as the Ice Bead hasn’t disappeared, we can always think of another plan. No one dies of holding back a single piss, right?”

Su Ran teased Banana, then engaged Luta in so casual conversation. With their camaraderie between the Elf Tribe and the Undead slightly deepened, they bade farewell, leaving the Lifeline Space and returning to the Elf Palace.
Unexpectedly, the Elf Queen wasn’t waiting for them there. The entire palace appeared empty, desolate, like a ghostly, abandoned city.
