Chapter 77: Fish-Man Island

“No way!” Perona’s eyes widened in surprise.

“Why isn’t this affecting you?!” She steadied herself, taking a combat stance, and gestured firmly with her hands. “I must have made so sort of mistake a second ago.”

Four Hollows materialized from her hands, “You’re going to lose all will to live when they strike together.”

“Uh~” Kizaru remained unmoved, scratching his head in contemplation.

-Quadruple Negative Attack-

The four Hollows surged toward Kizaru and seamlessly passed through his body.

-Fewwwwth-

“Ne-ga-tive! Ne-ga-tive! Ne-ga-tive! Ne-ga-tive!”

However, this ti, things were different. Kizaru didn’t flinch as he had before; he remained steadfast. With his hands in his pockets, he declared in his typical slow, nonchalant tone, “I~… Wanna beco a louse…~”

The soldiers around him stared in disbelief at the unexpected proclamation from their admiral.

Returning to his usual deanor, Kizaru casually waved his hand, “Hmm~… let’s just pretend you didn’t hear that.~”

————–

“Getting used to it…”

Kizaru nonchalantly adjusted the sunglasses on his face, revealing a wry smile.

“Interesting!

Dealing with this kind of ability can be quite a real headache..

But going up against a Marine Admiral? …

Are you really sure you’re not overestimating yourself, young lady?”

“H-How… How is this even possible?” Perona stepped back in sheer disbelief. “My powers have never failed … Even if you’re an Admiral, it doesn’t seem possible…”

In that mont, she realized the complexity and the perilous situation she was in.

How could she believe she could defeat an Admiral? Soone who had effortlessly taken down her captain.

“Stupid Perona! I’m in deep trouble!” She exclaid while hitting her face in frustration.

“Uh~?” Kizaru gave her a friendly gaze, “Because I’m extrely negative and lazy. What do you expect from soone caught between sleep and work?~”

“Ah!!!???” Perona’s eyes widened, and tears welled up.

-Thud.-

This ti, it was her who knelt, wearing a face of sheer disappointnt.

“I don’t stand a chance! I’ve lost…”

“I’ll leave the rest to you,”

Those words hung in the tense air as Onigumo efficiently handcuffed Perona’s hands, ensuring her confinent alongside the other pirates on Thriller Bark Island.

anwhile, Kizaru calmly made his way back to the ship, where he resud sipping his tea as if nothing extraordinary had occurred.

———————————

Fish-Man Island.

Hidden beneath the ocean’s depths lies an underwater island, subrged at a staggering depth of 10,000 ters directly below the Sabaody Archipelago, nestled within a massive chasm that stretches beneath the Red Line.

Pirates with dreams of reaching Fish-Man Island must first ticulously coat their ships with a specialized resin before braving the deep sea.

Accessing the island itself is a herculean task due to the nacing horde of sea monsters that guards it, making it a formidable challenge even for the bravest adventurers.

Once the protective coating succumbs to the imnse pressure, ships et a swift demise.

Even in the most improbable circumstances where soone manages to withstand the relentless underwater force, they would still face insurmountable odds against the nacing sea creatures, compounded by the inherent vulnerability of Devil Fruit users in water.

To this day, Kaidou remains the lone figure who has defied these daunting trials.

This natural barrier serves as the unwavering guardian of Fish-Man Island, shielding it from unscrupulous predators and traders.

However, this tranquil existence is short-lived.

In a bygone era when the World Governnt considered Fish-n and rfolk as re commodities, audacious pirates embarked on treacherous journeys into the unforgiving deep sea to capture these extraordinary beings and accumulate untold riches.

Whether among the nobility or the mysterious Celestial Dragons, rmaids were prized possessions, and finding a buyer was never a challenge.

Every day, hundreds of adventurers endeavored to reach the island, yet none succeeded, even after the island ca under the jurisdiction of the World Governnt. The plight of the rfolk remained unchanged.

Then ca Fleet Admiral Kong.

Early on, he stood for justice and fought against unfairness.

This made him clash with the Five Elders.

They could have gotten rid of him, but that would have caused lots of trouble, especially from his loyal followers. He was the strongest commander in the Navy, so they decided to keep him and try to control him.

Fate played into their hands as they exploited Fish-Man Island to apply pressure on Kong.

This compelled him into an agreent in which the Navy would serve as the primary protector and shield of the Celestial Dragons, regardless of the dangers they faced.

What eluded Kong at that ti was the realization that the Navy would beco complicit in their cris, shielding them from accountability.

Till today, nobody dared to challenge or even make eye contact with the Celestial Dragons.

Kong’s ambitions lay in tatters. It was a harsh awakening to the reality that his prowess as a fighter was utterly futile. In comparison to the cunning and experienced politicians like the Five Elders, he was a novice.

The lesson ca at a high price… His dignity.

The Five Elders tightened their control over him and the navy. But what they didn’t realize was that Kong was quietly learning about politics. He knew that the only way to escape their control was to beat them at their own ga.

So, he learned patiently, waiting for the right ti.

Until today…

——————————–

In the deep, dark ocean, an advanced submarine quietly approached Fish-Man Island.

The underwater journey was calm, with various sea creatures passing by without causing any disruption.

Inside the submarine, Vice Admiral Yamakaji, surrounded by the gentle hum of machinery, observed the sea creatures below through a reconnaissance mirror. “Impressive, these underwater creatures!” he remarked. “Dr. Vegapunk’s technology is proving useful,” he noted, glancing around. “If this submarine hadn’t avoided that large sea monster just now, we might have been in trouble. Right, Admiral Aokiji?”

Relaxing in the captain’s chair, Aokiji, adjusting his eyepatch, replied, “Err… Is that why you brought

along? Well, can we have so quiet? I suddenly feel a bit tired. Wake

when we arrive at the island.”

“Ah! My apologies, sir!!” Yamakaji responded respectfully. “Having you here does put my mind at ease. In the worst-case scenario, we could return by conventional ans. Let’s hope it doesn’t co to that.”

Aokiji, adjusting his eyepatch once more, shifted his attention elsewhere, maintaining a composed deanor. “Errr… Creating an ice tunnel 10,000 ters under the sea for our return would indeed be exhausting. Let’s hope we won’t have to resort to such extre asures.”

————-

Thankfully, the journey unfolded without a hitch.

The Navy’s submarine silently docked at Fish-Man Island. As Yamakaji and the Navy crew disembarked, they were t with an unexpected scene.

Three pirate ships were moored, clearly preparing for a voyage into the New World. Pirates, shouldering supplies, observed the arrival of elite Navy mbers.

A tense pause ensued.

Suddenly, one of the pirates stashed his supplies and unsheathed his blade, addressing the others, “n!

The Navy’s here!

Get ready for a fight!

They’re just a few soldiers!

No need to panic; let’s deal with them right here!”

Another pirate joined in, “That’s right!

They don’t stand a chance!

Tomorrow, we set sail for the New World, the territory of the Four Emperors. They won’t be able to touch us there!

n, let’s take them down!!”

In response, the group of pirates, visibly uneasy, subtly tightened their grip on their weapons, ready for a fight.

But…

“Errr… Why is it so noisy here…”

Aokiji erged from the submarine with a sleep mask covering his eyes, asking, “Have we reached Fish-Man Island already? … And why is it so dim here…”
