Chapter 75: Gecko MoriaMoria’s sly smile hinted at mischief. Right then, Onigumo sensed an unsettling tremor beneath his feet. Without warning, a group of zombies erged from their graves wielding weapons, and quickly surrounded the marines, leaving no escape. Yet, the marine soldiers showed no signs of panic. Their rigorous training had prepared them for such dire situations, especially when facing a pirate of Moria’s reputation. With impressive speed and precision, they ford a defensive square formation, balancing offense and defense, while depending on one another for protection. They awaited the Vice Admiral’s commands with cool determination, almost as if they were gearing up for a routine mission. The air grew tense, reminiscent of the calm before a storm. A life-or-death battle was about to unfold. “Do you even know what you’re getting into?” Onigumo stood tall at the head of his soldiers, calmly taking a drag from his cigarette. with a mix of awe and horror, six extra arms erged from his flowing hair as he fixed a stern gaze on Moria. “This is a reckless move! You’re no longer a Shichibukai. Neither the Navy nor the World Governnt will show you any rcy. Consider this your final warning!” Moria extended his claw-like right hand, pointing it nacingly at Onigumo. “Mind your words, you pathetic dog! I am Gecko Moria, the one who once faced Kaidou! Do you seriously think that you, just a Vice Admiral, can force

to surrender?” -HFFF- Onigumo exhaled a smoke ring, his smirk fading slightly. “Kaido himself is locked up in Impel Down. Comparing yourself to a prisoner doesn’t make you look any better…” “WHA… WHAAAAAT!” Moria’s bloodshot eyes widened in disbelief. “Kaidou… that guy… is actually in prison!?” Onigumo sneered, his eyes narrowing. “So? What’s new? It’s not the first ti! But…” -HFFFFF- Exhaled another puff of smoke and added, “It might be his last.” “What does that an?” Moria inquired. Onigumo replied calmly, “Kaidou has made a habit of breaking into and escaping from Impel Down, almost like a second ho for him. But not this ti…” -HFFFFF- “Thanks to Dr. Vegapunk’s latest invention, we managed to freeze Kaidou in his human form, stopping ti for him.” -HFFFFF- “Do you grasp it now, Moria?” His voice echoed in the area, “The era of the Great Pirates is coming to an end! The banner of justice flies high! Whether they’re the Seven Warlords or the Four Emperors, they’re all on our target list! The Navy won’t compromise with criminals, all for the sake of the people of the sea!!!” The declaration of justice hung in the misty sky over Florian Triangle. Although no action had been taken, Moria’s soldiers instinctively retreated. It wasn’t just talk; it was a resolute determination to cleanse the world of evil! “He’s just a Vice Admiral…” With eyes blazing with anger, Moria couldn’t contain himself and yelled, “Big words from a cocky kid! I’ll cut off your shadow, turning you into the weakest zombie, forever trapped in darkness!!!” “Oh, please! Feel free to try!” Onigumo’s tone oozed with confident provocation. He deftly swung his eight swords towards Moria, making his declaration with a stern tone, “Gecko Moria… You’re facing serious cris, including threats and insults against a Vice Admiral of the Navy. As a deputy to the Navy Headquarters, you’re under arrest! Surrender now; you don’t have a chance!!!” The air crackled with tension as those words signaled the comncent of the battle. Soldiers around readied themselves for what was about to unfold. “Kishishishi… Amateurs… ATTACK!” The zombies, seemingly energized by the command, rushed fiercely towards the soldiers. In response, a relentless barrage of bullets cut through, leaving them strewn across the battlefield. The battle seed nearly decided, saved only by the unexpected arrival of reinforcents. A unit of ethereal ghosts quickly closed in on the marines. Bullets were futile against them; after all, spirits were impervious to gunfire. Suddenly, every soldier felt an eerie touch, dropped their weapons, and succumbed to a wave of hysteria, tears streaming down their faces!

While these apparitions caused no physical harm, their impact on the soldiers’ morale was crippling. “Horohorohoro” Watching the wavering morale of the navy, a mysterious figure, hidden in shadows, whispered softly, “What a sha! These supposed defenders of justice. Even an Admiral could face a similar fate. Horohorohoro…” Her unsettling laughter echoed across the battlefield. The Navy found itself in a tight spot, engaged in combat with both the relentless zombie army and the cunning ghosts. “Damn, that girl’s a nightmare,” muttered a translucent figure. “Perona and her ghostly powers are a real headache!” In the shadows, a mysterious figure with a lion muzzle stitched onto his face gradually faded from view. Without a sound, he approached an unsuspecting naval officer, concealing his right hand under a sleeve, bazookas pointed at the officer’s back. “Say Hi to Absalom’s little friend.” -Dead Person’s Hand.- Before the threat could materialize, the Navy officer swiftly grabbed both of Absalom’s arms, almost wrenching them apart. “What the heck! How did he spot !?” Absalom exclaid in disbelief. How could How could a re marine outmaneuver him and thwart his attack? “This can’t be! Was it just luck? Or perhaps my own footsteps betrayed … But how!” “Neither…” The marine officer facing Absalom revealed a wry smile. “You have no idea who you’re dealing with.” “And just who might that be!? Ah, don’t tell , I know who you are… A dead man walking! Waahahaha!” Absalom roared, pulling the trigger of his bazooka. “At this range, you don’t stand a chance! Waahahaha. Die… Die… Die…” Desperately, he fired multiple shots at his target. Three rockets were discharged from the bazooka before it mysteriously disintegrated into nothingness.

Absalom’s terror grew.

Staring at his empty hands, he muttered in confusion, “Where did it go… I had it in my grasp just monts ago. A substantial rocket launcher can’t simply vanish…” The masked navy captain abruptly twisted both of Absalom’s arms, breaking them with a powerful kick that sent him flying into the air, all while narrowing his eyes.

“I’m Captain Shu from the Marine Headquarters.” ——————– Amidst the chaotic battlefield, where survival and defeat hung in the balance, the shifting tides of fortune marked the grim reality. But with the eerie aid of Perona’s Devil Fruit powers, the Marines found themselves gradually losing ground. Onigumo’s heart raced as he swiftly realized that sothing had gone terribly wrong.

His focus shifted like lightning to Perona, who floated gracefully above him. A sense of dread settled in as none of his attacks found their mark against her. She seed like a spectral figure; her own ethereal self.

By using ‘Astral Projection,’ her spirit separated from her body, evading each assault. During this brief lapse of focus, Moria seized the opportunity, identifying a weakness in Onigumo’s defenses.

A single, shadow-infused strike pierced through Onigumo’s form, pinning him to the ground.

The outco was now inevitable. “Kishishishi.” Moria moved forward with unwavering determination, his right hand morphing into colossal shears, “Marine Headquarters Vice Admiral… your very shadow now belongs to !” With these ominous words, Moria reached out to sever Onigumo’s shadow. -whoosh- Yet, just as the tension reached its crescendo, a brilliant golden laser streaked across the distance, a beacon of hope in the darkest hour, effortlessly tearing through Moria’s transford scissor hand.
