The sky was grim, the earth vast and desolate.

Jialuo is a Cultivator skilled in the Dao Path of space, extrely swift in movent.

Princess Ji Huaxi, attempting to flee in the opposite direction, realized she was being remotely locked on by the spiritual power of two individuals as soon as she caught sight of the raised expanse of the Great Snow Mountain from afar.

She took a deep breath and, quite suddenly, stopped.

Looking around, she found the environnt eerily familiar.

Beneath her feet was a rushing, murky river, and before her eyes was a city turned into pitch-black ruins.

The distant tolling of bells ca from behind the Snow Mountain.

On the cracked earth lay half-buried carcasses of strange insects and the air was still thick with the sll of blood yet to fully dissipate.

A tragic smile appeared on Ji Huaxi’s face; she recognized this place. These were the ruins of Lishui Ancient City—where not long ago, Su Heng had slaughtered everyone in the city, summoning a sky-obscuring monster army with his Authority, nearly resulting in their break.

At that ti, she couldn’t understand why Su Heng would suddenly commit such shocking brutality.

And now, the answer finally lay before her.

A wave of guilt surged in Ji Huaxi’s heart, and the riverbank’s refreshing breeze blew across her face, lifting several strands of her dark red hair.

Even though it was likely that the other party didn’t dwell on such insignificant matters.

If possible, though.

She hoped to apologize to Su Heng in person.

But judging from the current situation, she feared that even this minute wish was nothing but a luxury.

Boom!

Suddenly, a gale roared and waves surged.

The sky, previously clear, was now covered by rolling dark grey clouds.

The wild hurricane swept across the dark plains, swirling into pallid whirlpools. And amidst the world-shaking thunder ca twin brilliant streaks of lightning from the heavens above. Following which, Kulika and Jialuo, the two Descenders, left and right stepped onto the thunder, erging from the void.

They seed yet to fully heal from their injuries, as the charred skin could be seen through their torn clothing, looking utterly disheveled.

Yet the aura they emitted had beco even more savage, like two towering mountains.

"Run, go on and keep running!" Jialuo barked sharply, "You could’ve had a swift end, but your brother ssed it all up!"

"Surrender, struggling further is aningless," Kulika proclaid with his usual dignity.

However, his face bore dried blood, blood of Ji Huaxi’s deceased brother.

"You’ve never seen soone of the Emperor Clan kneel and beg for rcy in front of the enemy," Ji Huaxi lifted her head, glowing with an inspiring sheen while she spoke boldly, her pride evident in her illustrious eyes and resonant voice, carrying through the chill wind.

Whoosh!

She said no more.

During the escape, her injuries had mostly healed.

Reaching out her hand, the long spear that had accompanied her through many battles appeared in her grasp, and with it, a mighty Power burst forth from her.

Like a red lotus blooming in the void, its layered petals spread outward. The air twisted and tore, black and red smoke first erupted like a volcanic blast skywards, then spread like tidal waves. Within the murky fog, the faint visages of both a dragon and a phoenix spiraled upward, their resounding roars heart-stopping.

A serious expression crossed Kulika’s face.

Jialuo, however, smiled at the thrill of the hunt, "I didn’t expect to co across such an interesting opponent. Brother, let deal with this prey. Dismbering a magnificent Phoenix is far more exciting than killing a re bear."

"Fine."

Kulika nodded, not wanting to dampen his brother’s spirits.

Still, he cautioned carefully, "This girl is of great importance to us, do not take her life."

"I understand." Jialuo nodded, retrieving an ancient-looking dark-brown sword from the void. Seeing the bloodstain on the blade, he smiled, "See this? This very sword chopped your brother into pieces, and in a short while, it will also dismber your beautiful body."

"Such a pity..."

Jialuo’s face showed a pretentious sigh, "Your brother sacrificed his life only to buy you a few more minutes."

There was neither hate nor fear on Ji Huaxi’s face; her long hair fluttered like ignited flas, her aura growing more intense.

To Jialuo’s apparent disappointnt at her reaction, he clicked his tongue, as if wanting to say sothing. But in the next Instant, whoosh—

Accompanied by a piercing shriek, Jialuo suddenly vanished from the spot.

Simultaneously.

Ji Huaxi felt the sharp sensation of impending danger.

Her nerves were stretched to the limit, and under the honed instincts of countless battles, she raised her spear to block and at the sa ti stepped back to widen the distance.

Bang!

The two forces collided abruptly.

A ring of pale air expanded outward, and the turbulent river beneath was violently disrupted.

The murky river’s surface sagged layer by layer, as giant columns of water shot towards the heavens.

Under the influence of two violent auras, like a slow-motion sequence in a film, thousands of water droplets hung in the air, reflecting the brilliance of lightning.

Jialuo was known among the Descenders for his reclusive nature, but his swordsmanship was nothing short of divine.

In his plan, the very first strike of his sword was ant to blind the Princess’ eyes, depriving her of sight and partly disabling her perception.
