There was a brief silence on the other end. "What do you want?"
See, Rear Admiral Gion, at least the World Governnt still values you.
Ian smiled at Gion again and then said, "Alright, let lay out my demands. First, Judge is a good man. He hasn't done anything wrong to the World Governnt, so don't hold him accountable."
Ian!
Judge, standing beside him, was so moved he almost cried.
What a good brother!
"Humph, looks like you've struck a deal. Is that all?"
"Of course not."
Ian replied.
To be honest, this request doesn't make much sense.
Even if the World Governnt retains the title of the Germa Kingdom as a mber country, it's just for show. If given the chance, the World Governnt won't hesitate to get rid of Judge.
"Do you have any other demands?"
The goat asked.
Well, what other demands are there?
The World Governnt won't give anything too important or valuable.
And unimportant things aren't of any interest to him.
Ian thought for a long ti before finally coming up with sothing that might be sowhat useful.
Perhaps it could be quite useful.
"Give ten large warships," Ian said, demanding boldly.
"What are you joking about? Ten warships?"
Without a doubt, the response from the other side was imdiately a rejection, "Who do you think you're talking to? A fleet admiral?"
What does ten large warships even an? Only the Buster Call is equipped with that kind of fleet.
Just in terms of firepower, ten large Marine battleships could easily flatten a small island in a short ti.
Among the entire Beast Pirates, the only force that could rival those large warships was Ian's Golden Dragon, along with the ships of Kaido, Uncle King, and Uncle Queen.
"Three ships!"
The goat said, "We can accept this amount."
"Three? Eight," Ian countered.
"Impossible, Ian. This deal is not fair!"
"Fair? All I know is that this woman is the Navy's future star. She might even be a future Admiral!"
"... Four ships."
"Seven ships! That's my bottom line!"
"Five ships!"
The goat gritted his teeth, "This is our bottom line! If you're still not satisfied, then this deal is over."
"Tch, so stingy."
Ian snorted, "Fine, since we're old friends, five ships it is."
"Phew—"
The voice on the other end sighed in relief, "When will the trade take place?"
"Don't rush," Ian smiled, "You slashed the price by half, so at least let make an additional request."
"Ian! Don't get greedy!" The goat's voice suddenly shot up in anger.
"Relax, it's nothing serious, in fact, you could say it's worthless,"
Ian's tone beca heavy, even angry, "Back when Kaido-sensei was captured by the World Governnt, you extracted his bloodline factor, and then Vegapunk used that to create an Artificial Devil Fruit, right? You really have so nerve!"
"What?"
The goat on the other end of the phone was stunned.
He had never even heard of such a thing.
"But the research on that fruit failed, so Vegapunk sealed it away. It has no value to you, so just give it to . The existence of that fruit is an insult to the Beasts Pirates, an insult to my most respected teacher!"
"Wait, I need to check on this first."
The goat hurriedly hung up the phone.
On the other end, in Mariejois, the goat was left confused.
Vegapunk?
How did Ian know what Vegapunk did?
Vegapunk's research is even classified within the World Governnt itself!!
This is getting serious!
On Ian's side.
The warships and such are, of course, just a cover.
The real focus is the artificial Azure Dragon fruit.
Ian feels that this fruit is the most suitable choice.
The World Governnt believes it's a failure, and Vegapunk also considers it a failure, not paying much attention to it.
The chances of getting it are pretty high.
Although Ian doesn't know yet who to give it to, getting it first isn't a bad thing, right?
Waiting for the goat's response.
Gion, barely holding up her ailing body, incredulously asked Ian, "What's going on with that?"
Does this guy have dealings with the World Governnt?
Ian shrugged. "Didn't I already say? The Navy is justice, and pirates are evil, right?"
Gion was left speechless.
Punk Hazard, Navy Scientific Research Base.
A certain base's staff mber received a call from higher-ups.
"Yes, Dr. Vegapunk did create a fruit using Kaido's bloodline factor, but it was a failure. After making it, Vegapunk just tossed it into the storage room without even a glance."
"Yes, of course, it's confird! It's definitely a failure!"
"What? Find that fruit? Soone wants it? A failed artificial Devil Fruit?"
"What do you an by internal restructuring? You're saying there's a pirate spy at the base? That's impossible!"
Let's not talk about Punk Hazard for now.
Ian quickly received a return call from the Goat.
"We've agreed to your request. Where will the trade take place?"
"The New World. I'll be returning there soon."
A smirk appeared at the corner of Ian's mouth.
Perfect.
