Chapter 91: Beating Up Big Ears
I have to dodge!
Seeing Luffy rushing up, Enel was utterly horrified, using his golden staff to prop up his bloody, battered body.
Why can he hit !? No! I have to dodge! Otherwise, I’ll be beaten to death!
Swish!
Luffy’s figure suddenly flashed right in front of him. However, this ti it wasn’t as smooth as before; before Luffy could even throw a punch, Enel began to dodge sideways!
"Gum-Gum Jet Pistol!" Luffy glared intently at Enel, one hand open, the other arm bent back, gathering power. His fist shot out like a jet airplane.
Bang!
The descending attack didn’t land on Enel as Luffy expected, nor did Enel manage to completely avoid it as he’d hoped.
The fist grazed Enel’s shoulder, making him stagger, then struck the deck, smashing a hole through it, sending wood chips flying.
"Damn it! Why is he so fast!?"
I sensed it, but it’s incredibly hard to dodge!
Enel gritted his teeth, swung his staff to press against Luffy’s body, and just as he was about to exert force to push him away, his Mantra imdiately sensed sothing.
He’s going to kick my stomach!
Enel frantically twisted his body. However, he had only just begun to react when Luffy’s foot imprinted itself on him. He was still hit by half the sole, sent spinning through the air.
Crackle!
Crackle! Enel, tumbling through the air, looked panicked. He transford into arcs of lightning, reappearing atop the giant golden Buddha head.
Gritting his teeth, brow tightly furrowed, he looked down. Never mind why that guy can hit ... the key is, his speed is too fast!
Even with Mantra, it was difficult to evade. Although his elental form was faster for movent, his reaction speed couldn’t keep up. The ti between reading the attack and reacting was too short; the opponent’s attack arrived in the blink of an eye.
"How troubleso!"
Veins popped out on Enel’s hand as he gripped the golden staff tightly. Lightning surged, and the staff in his hand began to lt and reshape.
"Electro-tallurgy!"
"If lightning doesn’t work, then close combat is my only option."
Enel gritted his teeth, looking down at Luffy below. A trident materialized, which he spun in his hand, dancing like the wind.
If he had a choice, he truly didn’t want to engage Luffy in close combat. The burning pain all over his body was relentless; his bones felt like they were about to fall apart.
His eyes filled with apprehension. This skinny monkey’s strength is just too ridiculous! A few more hits, and I’ll definitely be beaten to death!
He’s coming!
Before Enel could even think of a counterasure, Luffy had already leaped up, arriving right in front of him.
A left hook aid at the face.
The instant Enel read Luffy’s attack, he ducked his head, simultaneously thrusting the trident in his hand towards his opponent’s abdon.
Luffy, airborne, found it difficult to dodge the sudden attack. He directly reached out, grabbed the unbladed shaft of the trident firmly, and with a forceful pull, Enel flew towards him.
"Gum-Gum Jet Battle Axe!"
"Electro-tallurgy!"
BOOM! Luffy’s axe kick smashed down on Enel’s shoulder, sending his entire body crashing downwards like a falling teor.
Before he could follow up, a searing pain shot through his hand.
"Oowww! So hot! So hot!" Luffy’s palm was red and swollen; Enel had instantly heated the trident the mont Luffy grabbed it.
"Cough cough cough."
Enel struggled to prop himself up with the trident, staggering a couple of steps to regain his balance, then lifted his head and grinned ferociously.
"Heheh... I’ve found your weakness."
Enel reached out directly, placing his hand on the golden Buddha head. Lightning surged, liquefying the gold. The next mont, another trident appeared in his hand.
Huh? This... Reiner, watching from the sky, couldn’t help but shake his head.
Since lightning doesn’t work, Enel can only resort to close combat. Even with the advantage of Mantra, with his ager martial arts skills, trying to fight Gear Second Luffy...
Ai... this silly Big Ears.
Lightning speed is fast, true, but for movent within a small area, it wasn’t actually stronger than Luffy in Gear Second. For no other reason than: physical reaction takes ti.
Over long distances, his speed would naturally leave Luffy dozens of streets behind. But fighting on a ship, Gear Second Luffy could reach any position in the blink of an eye; even if Enel read his moves, reacting in ti was extrely difficult.
As for that minor burn... it was hardly enough to threaten Luffy’s life. Calling that finding a weakness? That’s just a dead duck with a stiff beak (stubbornly refusing to admit defeat).
BOOM!!
Enel, utilizing his Mantra’s prescience and the superheated trident in his hand, exchanged several blows with Luffy, finally managing to leave a few scratches on him.
But in return, he himself was battered beyond recognition, looking utterly pathetic. After spitting out several mouthfuls of blood, he flashed away in a streak of lightning, reappearing below the Buddha head.
He reached out, unleashing lightning to begin slting gold. With a fierce wave of his hand, dozens, even hundreds, of golden knives, spears, swords, and halberds shot out like a torrential downpour towards the charging Luffy.
Swish! Swish!
Swish! Sharp edges glinted gold. The dense barrage of superheated cold weapons, guided by Enel’s Mantra predicting Luffy’s movents, forced even Luffy to concentrate fully and use all his effort to dodge.
"Ye hahaha! You can’t maintain that state for too long, can you!?"
Luffy’s grave expression gave Enel an inkling. He continuously slted gold, predicting Luffy’s evasive maneuvers, the lightning-guided weapons firing out madly.
Large numbers of golden weapons missed Luffy and bombarded the Ark. The deck began to show cracks and holes, littered everywhere with haphazardly embedded gold.
Reiner imdiately summoned undead to pick them up from behind.
It’s all money; no sha in that.
The Ark’s position flew higher and higher. The Blue and Red Ogres also began to charge their combination attack. Just in case, Reiner prepared to blast away both the Ark and the dense black thunderclouds in the sky along with it.
The sound of bombardnt below gradually lessened. Luffy, while constantly dodging, finally found an opportunity to close in on Enel. A heavy punch smashed him against the golden wall.
And then it was—
"Gum-Gum... Jet Gatling Barrage!"
Luffy roared, his reddened arms emitting white steam, his fists, like a pear blossom storm, continuously pounded out with explosive air waves.
The entire golden wall was battered with loud clanging sounds. Enel, like a ball of white dough, was relentlessly pumled, getting slamd deeper and deeper into the wall with each hit.
Blood and spit flew; his eyes rolled white.
"ORA ORA ORA!!"
Luffy glared furiously, unleashing a continuous barrage with all his might. Even the golden wall began to buckle under the strain, cracking and sending golden fragnts flying and scattering everywhere.
Enel’s body struggled desperately to break free, but every ti he propped himself up, he was slamd back against the wall. The dense attacks didn’t even give him a chance to turn elental and escape.
Mouthful after mouthful of blood gushed out. His vision gradually blurred, his consciousness slowly fading...
Luffy exhausted his breath, retracted his arms, then lifted his leg in a whip kick that slamd into Enel’s face, sending his entire body flying. He tumbled repeatedly in mid-air before crashing heavily against the ship’s rail.
Bang!
Enel, teeth and blood flying, landed slumped on the deck. He pushed down hard, trying to get up, but his hand slipped, and he collapsed prone, faint arcs of electricity occasionally flickering over his body.
"Cough... how... could this be."
Enel’s expression was dark, the flickering lightning continually indicating he was at the end of his rope, unable to hold on much longer. His voice ca out incredibly hoarse.
"God... cannot possibly... lose."
Enel glared viciously at Luffy, a trail of scarlet blood flowing from the corner of his mouth, dyeing his bare chest red. His face was ferociously twisted, like that of an evil god.
