Chapter 32: Spear of Elbaf

By the inland riverbank on Little Garden’s east coast, next to the Going rry...

"You guys aren’t doing so hot either," Reiner teased, looking at the Triceratops and T-Rex lying on the ground – the prizes from Sanji and Zoro’s hunt.

"Bastard! You cheated using your undead!"

"Forget the undead! That thing wasn’t even hunted on this island, was it?"

Zoro and Sanji retorted indignantly, grimacing.

"What are you talking about!? How can using a Devil Fruit ability be called cheating?" Reiner took offense, imdiately firing back: "And this giant turtle was caught on the island! Who made a rule that turtles can’t co ashore!? I demand to speak to my lawyer!"

"Damn Yellow Hair!"

"What did you say, Moss Head?"

"I wasn’t talking to you, Curly Brows!"

Zoro redirected his insult: "Damn Four Eyes!"

BANG! BANG!

Just as the three were arguing intensely, huge sounds echoed from behind. The group turned to see Dorry and Broggy approaching.

"It’s the Mister Giants."

"They ca to see us off."

"Hey Misters! Goodbye!" The crew looked up, waving farewell to the giants.

Dorry and Broggy placed their hands on their hips, letting out hearty laughter. "Gahahahaha! Goodbye, kids!"

"Later on, no matter what you encounter, just keep going straight ahead!"

"Straight ahead? Ah, okay! We got it!" Luffy yelled back, grinning widely.

The group boarded the ship one after another. Reiner summoned his undead, who raised the anchor and began operating the vessel.

The Going rry sailed down the river. The lush prival forests on both banks, with their layers of shadows and tangled green vines, slowly receded as the ship flowed into the ocean and left the island behind.

They hadn’t sailed more than a few kiloters when the calm sea surface suddenly began to churn with massive waves. The small boat, like a single leaf on the ocean, pitched violently on the surging tide as a terrifyingly huge dark shadow gradually erged from the depths.

SPLAAAAASH—!

Breaking through the water’s surface, a gigantic sea monster abruptly appeared. Its ferocious maw gaped open like a dark, profound abyss, seawater pouring backward into the seemingly bottomless pit.

Nami panicked, collapsing onto the deck and screaming continuously, "Waaahhh! What is that monster!!"

"We’re gonna die! We’re gonna die!"

"No good! I can’t steer the ship at all!"

The Going rry lost all control, being pulled step by step towards the abyss along with the back-flowing seawater.

The Island Eater goldfish – a legendary giant sea monster written about in tall tales and passed down through generations. It subsists by gnawing on islands, and rumor has it that its excrent is the size of continents.

Faced with this monster capable of overturning rivers and seas with a re shift of its body, everyone couldn’t help but feel a sense of despair rise within them. Even the usually calm and composed Zoro frowned and gritted his teeth, his expression grave.

Staring at the Island Eater, whose individual teeth were larger than the Going rry itself, Reiner couldn’t help but click his tongue in amazent.

He glanced back towards the two giants, who had already assud power-gathering stances, exuding an unprecedented, terrifying aura.

"Since it’s the Misters’ heartfelt farewell gesture, let’s leave it to them."

Reiner abandoned the thought of summoning Blue Ogre and Red Ogre; performing a combination attack on the ship might cause significant damage from the recoil.

Reiner’s brow gradually relaxed, an unconscious smile playing on his lips. He faced the abyss before him, unmoved.

"Everyone! Straight ahead!!"

Luffy yelled from his position seated on the sheep figurehead, not a trace of fear in his eyes, only firm trust in the giants.

"Straight ahead your big head! We’re about to die!"

The Going rry gradually sailed into the monstrous mouth. Their vision dimd progressively until they were plunged into pitch darkness where one couldn’t see their own hand.

Suddenly, two rough voices reached their ears, filled with imnse pride.

"The only thing that can stop us!!"

"Is that blood-soaked giant serpent!!"

"Witness, all of you, the strongest ultimate technique from the Land of Giants!"

Legs bent, hands gripping their sword and axe tightly, the two giants simultaneously assud the stance of batters ready to swing, emanating a berserk aura that sent shivers down one’s spine despite the lack of cold. A ferocious roar echoed through the heavens:

"Spear of Elbaf!!"

"HAKOKU!!!!!"

"BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!"

A fierce wind suddenly erupted, blasting from behind Reiner, whipping his golden hair wildly.

The sound was deafening, like violent thunder. The darkness was instantly shattered, replaced by a boundless, blinding white light. Terrifying wind pressure propelled the Going rry forward.

Straight ahead!

"Th-th-the... the sea!"

"It’s been split apart!!!"

"Wo giao—!" (Exclamation of shock)

Everyone on the ship, without exception, was dumbfounded, jaws taphorically hitting the deck.

Reiner’s mouth hung open, an odd exclamation escaping him as he stared, utterly shocked beyond words, at the sea cleaved in two before them.

Looking back, the figures of the two giants rapidly shrank in the distance, the weapons in their hands shattering and scattering into pieces.

"To think they could guarantee it wouldn’t affect the rry in the slightest, even with that kind of power."

Reiner was secretly astounded. His understanding of Haki shifted slightly once more. Was I wrong about Teacher Kaido?

He then recalled Kaido’s furious roar, followed imdiately by the image of him transforming and breathing out dragon flas.

"..."

Back on the island, the two giants tossed aside the broken handles of their weapons and picked up their shields.

They stood silently, watching the small boat grow progressively smaller on the sea surface until the Going rry beca a black dot disappearing over the horizon.

Dorry gazed towards the line where sea t sky, his voice carrying faintly, "A kid chasing a daydream, and another kid completely without ambition."

"Many years ago, it seems people like that visited this island one after another."

"Seems like that happened, yeah. Can’t rember clearly," Broggy replied simply.

"Gahahahaha!"

The two giants stood there, laughing heartily up at the sky. Their black capes fluttered loudly behind them, their shadows stretching long across the land.

BOOM—!

"Whoa, the volcano’s erupting, Dorry."

"Ti for a duel, Broggy! Gahahahaha!"

The battle that had lasted a hundred years did not end with the shattering of their weapons.

The sun set, gradually sinking below the sea horizon. The stars shifted across the sky, and a crescent moon hung high in the black canopy.

Amidst the quiet sea, the Going rry, however, was incredibly lively.

"Go, Zoro!"

"The shampoo fell, Sanji!"

On the deck, a crowd was gathered around two figures, one yellow-haired, one green-haired. Zoro and Sanji were upside down, leaning against the first-floor cabin wall, doing handstands.

Both were gritting their teeth, eyes squeezed shut, blue veins visibly bulging on their foreheads, faces masks of impatience at the surrounding heckling.

"Damn Four Eyes!"

"Sooner or later, I’m gonna cut you down!"

"Stop complaining, stop complaining," Reiner chuckled, bringing over two wooden basins filled with water. He placed them on the deck and pushed them under their heads.

Initially, the three had argued intensely over the contest results. In the end, they decided to let the others vote.

Zoro and Sanji’s catches were roughly equal. Wanting to see both suffer embarrassnt, the crew unanimously ruled that Reiner using undead wasn’t against the rules.

"Hahaha! Go, Zoro!"

"Reiner and Sanji make fools of themselves all the ti, but I never thought this poker-faced guy would see the day!"

That comnt seed slightly targeted at Zoro.

Reiner squeezed so shampoo onto both their heads. "Alright, you may begin your performance."

Gritting their teeth, faces full of annoyance, they supported themselves with one hand while rapidly scrubbing their heads with the other, desperately wishing they could finish quickly and find a hole to crawl into.

"Hahaha!"

"Quack Quack!!"

Everyone roared with laughter. Only Reiner seized the opportunity to snap a photo before quickly sneaking away.

"Such a pity there’s no social dia feed here."

Reiner sighed with a laugh, ran to the stern, climbed down the outer wall, and summoned a dozen or so Fish-n, stacking them together to use as a makeshift bed to lie on.

"Tonight is destined to be anything but peaceful." He decided not to sleep in the dorm tonight.

Sure enough, not long after, furious shouts erupted from the ship.

"Bastard, get out here! I’m gonna cut you down!"

"Four-eyes! Believe it or not, I’ll smash your glasses!"

Reiner gave a wry smile, turned over, and lit a cigarette. "Looks like I’ve inherited Shinpachi’s nickna now." (Note: Shinpachi from Gintama is often called ’four-eyes’ or just ’glasses’).
