Chiga looked at Jinbe, who was full of gratitude, and sighed inwardly.
This must be the power that cos with strength and status. Those in high positions often only need to say a few words to change the lives of many.
He planned to visit Fish-Man Island himself eventually, but that would have to wait until he beca an Admiral. The ancient weapons, so highly regarded in the world of One Piece, were still worth seeing in person.
If his trip to Fish-Man Island left him with a good impression, then doing them a favor wouldn't be out of the question. Letting fish-n and rmaids live on land—was that really such a big deal?
For sothing that trivial, there was no need to call Sea Kings to pull the island. Chiga alone could do it.
With his current eye abilities, making Fish-Man Island float to the surface—or even connecting it to land—would be a simple task.
At that point, the only issue left would be resolving the grievances between the island's residents and humans. As for the slave trade, once he destroyed Mariejois, those grievances would beco solvable with a few strict bans.
He waved his hand, gesturing for Jinbe to sit. The blue-skinned fish-man was an honest, decent man—worthy of his title, "Knight of the Sea." There was no reason to make things hard for him.
Jinbe expressed his gratitude once more, then returned to his seat. He sat attentively, like a student eager to learn.
Seeing this, Doflamingo and the others, who had planned to leave, sat back down.
"This Kirin isn't so unreasonable after all. If we stick around, maybe we can smooth things over with him a bit. Then maybe our monthly quotas will be relaxed."
Kuma didn't think that deeply. He simply felt he was seeing another side of Chiga. As a high-ranking Revolutionary, he was interested in learning more about this young Marine officer.
Of course, the others were reading too much into it. The only reason Chiga had reacted that way earlier was because he found Jinbe sowhat endearing.
Hancock was quietly moved. Until now, Chiga had always struck her as a cold, godlike figure. She never expected him to care about the residents of Fish-Man Island.
She despised the slave trade that plagued the island.
She knew there had to be Celestial Dragons behind it—where there's demand, there's always a market. Rare rmaids and fish-n were exactly the kind of slaves those scum preferred.
Given the involvent of the Celestial Dragons, she understood better than anyone how hard it would be to interfere with that trade.
But this man had actually spoken out in front of so many people. It seed he truly had no regard for the Celestial Dragons—and that the things he told her before were genuine.
As she thought this, Chiga's image in her eyes began to shift. His figure seed to glow like a small sun.
Hancock's gaze softened, admiration blooming in her eyes. A blush crept across her cheeks.
Chiga had no idea Hancock was lost in her own thoughts. Seeing her expression change, he asked,
"Hancock, is sothing wrong?"
Being addressed by Chiga, Hancock's blush deepened. She stamred, barely forming words.
In truth, she was thinking:
'H-He said my na… and so gently!'
Well, Hancock's internal narrative was almost complete.
In the world of One Piece, Hancock was both the easiest—and hardest—woman to win over.
Opposing the Celestial Dragons might sound simple, but in reality, very few in the world dared to do so. Aside from Luffy and a handful of others, how many truly had the guts?
Among those who dared, most were too old, unattractive, or not interested in won at all.
There's an old saying: If you're saved by a handso man, you'll repay him with your life. If saved by an ugly one… You'd repay him in your next life.
Chiga's progress with Hancock far outpaced Luffy's in the original. First, he earned her admiration through strength. Then he revealed his stance on the Celestial Dragons.
Usually, to change an enemy's heart, one must first defeat them. Without strength, there's no stage for persuasion.
Chiga waited for a response but got none. With a sigh, he turned away from the strangely flustered Hancock, preparing to leave with Kalifa and Ain.
But soone wasn't going to let him walk out just yet.
Mihawk, who had remained silent until now, finally spoke once the room had quieted.
"Vice Admiral Kirin… I've heard that you defeated Golden Lion Shiki using your swordsmanship. Would you allow the honor of witnessing it firsthand?"
The other Warlords were stunned. Was Mihawk—the world's greatest swordsman—about to challenge Kirin?
"This is going to be good."
Kalifa didn't react outwardly, but inwardly she nodded. She had guessed right—Mihawk wanted to challenge her boss.
Chiga didn't feel particularly excited. If anything, he felt helpless.
Seriously? Were these people not afraid of him at all? Was this eting ever going to end?
He didn't actually want to fight Mihawk today. The challenge wasn't even personal—Mihawk likely just wanted to test his skills against soone he viewed as a fellow swordsman.
But Chiga knew better. While he could wield a blade, he wasn't at the level of a true swordsman.
Did he really have to summon Susanoo and draw a hundred-ter sword just to have a so-called sword fight?
Before he could answer, Hancock spoke up furiously.
"Mihawk, that's incredibly rude!"
Her outburst shocked everyone in the room. What was this? Was the Pirate Empress defending a Marine?
Even Chiga looked at her with a raised eyebrow. He knew Hancock admired those who opposed the Celestial Dragons, but he wasn't deluded enough to think she'd fallen for him already. He wasn't Luffy, after all.
Hancock quickly turned her eyes away, embarrassed.
To her, Chiga already looked exhausted from entertaining them all. She didn't dare ask for more of his ti.
But for Mihawk to challenge him now? Completely tactless!
Mihawk ignored her. His eyes never left Chiga.
Seeing this, Hancock beca enraged. She leapt into the air and kicked toward Mihawk.
Mihawk frowned and reached for his black blade, Yoru—only to suddenly stop.
Splat.
Hancock's ankle, mid-air, was gently caught by Chiga.
This ti, he tugged slightly and caught her in a princess carry as he descended back to the ground.
With a tired expression, Chiga looked at Hancock in his arms and said,
"He's here for . Why are you getting so worked up?"
Hancock, still held in his arms, stared at his face, eyes wide. Her voice trembled as she began to speak.
"Ki…"
But she didn't finish. Her face flushed redder than ever, and she suddenly went limp, fainting in his arms.
(She's acting like Hinata, So cute)
Chiga froze.
When he finally registered what happened, he began to shake her gently.
"Hey—Hancock? What's wrong with you!?"
