Chapter 651: Lilith’s Passive Role!

Vegapunk was completely bewildered.

What was wrong with these two?

The mont Plum removed her concealnt, Ryuunosuke and Jay started speaking as if they were performing a play. They talked to each other with full confidence, tossing out lines like they already knew how every piece on the board would move.

The worst part was that Vegapunk could not even follow it.

Even if they truly intended to do this, was it not far too deliberate? Would Lilith really believe sothing this obvious?

And even if this was the plan, they should have discussed it with him first.

Right now, Vegapunk felt like he was standing there with the word fool written across his forehead.

"Invisible Boundary: Twilight!"

As soon as their strange back and forth ended, Ryuunosuke lifted a hand and wrapped the surrounding area again.

Then he smiled like nothing happened.

"Well? Did you answer smoothly to what I said just now?"

Jay chuckled, perfectly in sync. "As expected of Captain Ryuunosuke of the Dragon Hunter Pirates."

"I only made a decision. I did not even get the chance to explain it, and you already knew."

"That’s impressive."

Vegapunk’s confusion deepened into sothing close to panic.

So what they just said, the deliberate sounding nonsense, was intentional?

But why did it have to be like that?

Ryuunosuke stopped teasing and pushed the conversation back on track.

"Alright, I’m done circling."

"Tell what you think."

"If it’s really like what we just said, then it’s simple enough to execute."

Vegapunk finally exploded.

"Could you two please be clearer?"

"I swear there’s an irreconcilable gap between your understanding and mine!"

He sounded genuinely pained.

Before this, he had been called the smartest man on the sea.

Now he could not even understand the conversation happening in front of him.

...

On a mist shrouded island.

Roger stood in the fog, his expression heavy.

"Will Adam betray us?"

Lilith’s voice remained calm, cold, and almost detached.

"It’s not betrayal."

"It’s an unspoken understanding we’ve had all along."

"If he wins, my energy belongs to him."

"If he loses, his body becos mine."

Roger hesitated, then asked again, more carefully this ti.

"Also... the restrictions on the projection disappeared on their own."

"Could they have said those things on purpose?"

Lilith’s eyes did not change, but the air around her sharpened.

"Whether it was intentional or not, we can’t ignore it."

"Prepare yourselves."

"We move against them."

"At the very least, we act before they make contact with Adam."

At this stage, it did not matter whether it was a trap set by Ryuunosuke’s group.

She still had to move.

If she did nothing, the result would be destruction.

She had fought Adam for far too long in the One Piece world to accept losing the entire board at the final mont.

The Dragon Hunter Pirates, plus the First Generation, could decide everything with one choice.

Lilith would never accept that.

Roger’s gaze turned solemn.

"We’re in a very passive position."

"Adam wants to reach the Seed of God by absorbing your energy, my lady, to complete his goal."

"The Dragon Hunter Pirates and that First Generation want to destroy the Seed of God."

"As for Vegapunk and the projection, all they want is freedom."

"Maybe we can work from that angle too."

Lilith frowned slightly, truly confused.

"You an we abandon everything we’ve believed in?"

"We just find a way to survive?"

To her, that was announcing defeat.

It was unacceptable.

She carried the pride of a god.

Even having such thoughts felt like a stain.

But their enemies now were the Dragon Hunter Pirates, the First Generation, and even her own forr projection.

Under these circumstances, she was forced to consider it.

Before Roger could answer, Lilith spoke again, changing direction with ruthless efficiency.

"Did you find what I asked for?"

Roger nodded. "I did."

"But it wasn’t very useful."

"I investigated. Their identities are very simple."

"So simple it feels fake."

As he finished speaking, two coffins appeared behind him.

Their lids opened.

Inside lay two corpses, long dead, preserved by unknown ans.

Lilith stared at them.

Then she closed her eyes briefly and sensed.

"Are these... the parents of the Dragon Hunter Pirates’ captain?"

The origin was similar to Ryuunosuke’s, but not clean.

Too many scents were wrong.

If Roger had not sworn it was true, Lilith would have assud these were unrelated bodies.

Ryuunosuke had been born in the East Blue.

Roger spoke quickly, presenting what he knew.

"His parents were ordinary people."

"They both died of illness when Ryuunosuke was six."

"At the sa ti, I also went and checked..."

He had gathered everything in a short ti. Even the parents were brought here.

Lilith’s expression did not soften.

"I see."

"Take them back."

"We can investigate later. There’s no need to do this right now."

The mont she finished speaking, Lilith vanished.

Roger remained, mouth half open, as if there were words he could not say in ti.

Then he lowered his head.

"Why..."

He exhaled, helpless.

"It looks like this won’t end easily."

With that, he disappeared as well, taking the coffins with him.

...

Back in the Calm Belt.

"What!"

Ryuunosuke’s voice exploded across the sea, thick with fury.

Even Jay, standing nearby, straightened instantly when he felt that killing anger.

He stared at Ryuunosuke warily.

At this mont, Ryuunosuke felt like a wild beast that had been stabbed in the heart.

Like he might turn and bite anything within reach.

"Captain?"

Every squad leader rushed to Ryuunosuke’s side at once.

They had followed him for a long ti.

Even when the handyman squad had been wiped out before, Ryuunosuke had never looked like this.

In their minds, counterattack plans against the World Governnt and every hidden enemy were already forming.

Sothing was wrong. Badly wrong.

"Guardians," Ryuunosuke said slowly, forcing each word through clenched control, "what they did crossed the line."

He took a deep breath, then turned his eyes toward Jay.

"Mr. Jay."

"I might not be able to follow our established plan for now."

Jay’s expression sharpened. "What happened?"

"If it’s sothing I can help with..."

"This is my business."

Ryuunosuke cut him off.

Then he reached into his space and pulled out a Den Den Mushi.

He activated it.

A video clip played imdiately.
