Chapter 501: Sevian’s Resolve!

The mont Cynthia’s arrow flew, Sika and Kiracol moved with her.

Sevian froze for half a second.

Weren’t their abilities supposed to be sealed by rlin? How could they release attacks this sharp, this heavy, while sealed?

Then it hit him.

They had been training and fighting nonstop before this. These so called new sandbags had already been unsealed by rlin so they could spar.

Everyone on the ship had just broken through, and the entire Dragon Hunter crew had sat down to digest their gains.

That gap, that distraction, was exactly what Cynthia’s group had been waiting for.

"How dare these newbies act so arrogant!" Kaido roared. "Sevian, teach them a lesson!"

With that shout, Kaido burst out a terrifying tide of Conqueror’s Haki.

During his ti on the Dragon Hunter Pirates’ ship, Kaido’s growth had been huge. The oppression in that aura was nothing like before.

"One of the Four Emperors?" Cynthia clenched her jaw. "Kaido? This is a matter between us Guardians. Why are you sticking your nose in it?"

Her eyes were full of confusion.

If Kaido had not stepped in, they could have crushed Sevian quickly, then turned on the Dragon Hunter Pirates while they were still in their weakest mont.

The crew was mid breakthrough, sitting with their eyes closed. That kind of opening did not co twice.

If they could not strike down the Dragon Hunter Pirates now, how would they ever win after the pirates finished growing even stronger?

Cynthia did not want to fight Kaido.

Not because she feared him, but because it would waste ti they could not afford to lose.

"Worororo...." Kaido’s laugh thundered. "A prisoner talking big like a king."

"If it was anyone else, maybe they would flinch."

"But I am Kaido, one of the Four Emperors."

"Who do you think you are barking at?"

He lunged forward.

Kiracol t him head on. His warrior form was built for this.

Sika and Cynthia were strong too, but most of their abilities leaned toward support.

Kiracol was the right shield to take Kaido’s charge.

Behind them, Cynthia stared at Sevian with cold fury.

"Sevian, I’ll give you a choice."

"Do you fight us now, or do you return to the Guardians?"

Her voice shook with barely contained hatred. She wanted him dead.

But right now, dragging him back into the team was still the better move.

Taking down the Dragon Hunter Pirates mattered more than revenge.

"Again?" Sevian let out a bitter laugh. "You really think I still have a choice?"

As he spoke, mories rolled through him.

When he had first been taken by the Dragon Hunter Pirates, he had been ready to die rather than bend.

Even when they threatened him, he had pretended to be a corpse already.

Back then, he fought like a machine, half unconscious, driven only by stubborn instincts.

Yet the Dragon Hunter Pirates never treated him like trash.

They never let him go hungry.

They even let him use Life Essence.

Other than being dragged into training every single day, what part of his life looked like a prisoner’s?

Even now, with Kaido aboard, they argued over who was more qualified to be the crew’s punching bag.

That kind of place was sothing Sevian had never imagined existing.

Then he thought of the Guardians.

He had been with them for a long ti.

During his first operation against the Dragon Hunter Pirates, Wades was there. In the end, Wades and Sevian had sworn an oath with Ryuunosuke.

After that, he was handed off to that Guy

Then in the second battle, the Guardians abandoned him again.

And all this ti after, not once had the so called Guardian squad tried to rescue him.

Not even an empty show. Not even a lie.

Nothing.

What was the point of crawling back to an organization like that?

Sevian already had his answer.

He did not need them.

"So you’re going to stop us?" Cynthia frowned. Suspicion and anger mixed in her eyes.

"As a Guardian, you should still have pride."

"You’ve been captured this long, and you’ve lost even that?"

Her fury only grew heavier.

"Sevian won’t stop you." Sevian lifted his head, and his voice rang clear.

"The one blocking your way is the number one punching bag of the Dragon Hunter Pirates."

"As for that guy, he’s nothing but a fake."

The instant he finished, Sevian aura surged outward.

His original strength had already been at Emperor level.

And after living as a punching bag among monsters, even he had grown.

"Hey." Kaido snorted. "Who are you calling fake?"

"I’ll show you who the real fake is."

His fist swung out, then morphed mid strike into a massive dragon claw.

Kiracol barely had ti to react before he was blasted away.

Kaido chased without hesitation.

At least one of them had to be held back, and Kaido had no intention of letting Kiracol breathe.

His earlier argunt with Sevian had only been words ant for these Guardians.

Seeing Kiracol thrown aside, Cynthia and Sika tensed instantly.

If they wanted to deal with the Dragon Hunter Pirates, they first had to deal with these two obstacles.

"Do it," Cynthia snapped. Decision made in a heartbeat.

Every second that passed brought the Dragon Hunter Pirates closer to finishing their breakthroughs.

Their window was razor thin.

Attacks flooded in like rain.

Sevian stepped forward alone and took everything.

He did not know how much fighting power the Dragon Hunter Pirates still had hidden.

If he misjudged and soone on the crew died because he hesitated, he would never forgive himself.

Even if he died here, they would have to step over his body before moving another inch.

Minutes passed.

Sevian was already battered and bleeding, bruises stacking over bruises.

Even with his growth, he was still not equal to three Guardians fighting together.

"Impossible," he forced out, dragging himself upright.

"I won’t let you go any further."

"All of you stay right here."

"Unless you kill first."

His eyes were steady, almost calm.

There was relief in that resolve.

If he could die protecting the Dragon Hunter Pirates, then maybe his life would finally feel complete.

"Since you want to die, I’ll grant your wish," Cynthia said coldly.

"For the sake of us once being on the sa side, I’ll make sure you don’t feel even a flicker of pain."

She raised her longbow. A scarlet arrow ford on the string in an instant.

Cynthia’s arrows were divided into the Scarlet Arrow of Destruction and the Green Arrow of Redemption.

Right now, she had chosen destruction. She truly ant to kill him.

"Sevien, you’ve done very well."

"Leave the rest to ."

A familiar yet unfamiliar voice reached him from the side.

A young girl adjusted her glasses and walked forward step by step.
