"Ha? ?"
Suddenly hearing this, Garp was stunned for a mont, then, as if thinking of sothing, his gaze darkened slightly.
"Are you referring to...?"
"That's right, it's exactly what you're thinking. That 'demon' from back then that possessed Saturn in the God Valley Incident!!"
!!!
The mont these words were spoken, Garp's pupils constricted sharply, his gaze fixed intently on Kyle.
"Do you know what that thing really is?"
Kyle's words sent Garp's thoughts involuntarily back to the war at God Valley over twenty years ago.
Since that day, the island of God Valley no longer existed on the world map.
And in that war, aside from Rocks, what troubled Garp the most was the slender, elongated form of Saturn, one of the so-called highest authority in the world, the Five Elders.
That form simply didn't resemble a human at all. Crimson pupils, dark tentacles...
At first, Garp only knew him as one of the Five Elders, and he once thought that was simply Saturn's true form.
But upon later reflection, he realized that didn't seem to be the case.
When Saturn first landed on God Valley, his appearance was clearly vastly different from his later state. It was like two completely different people.
The contrast was too great, coupled with Rocks' inability to control his own actions at the ti...
Garp had every reason to suspect there might be so terrifying existence behind the Five Elders!
Hearing Kyle's words now, it seed there truly was!
Kyle took another sip of tea and slowly began to speak:
"The existence behind the Five Elders is called Im!"
"He is the king of the Celestial Dragons, the true ruler of the World Governnt, but he almost never appears before the outside world, so very few people know of his existence!"
"Most crucially..."
"He has existed since eight hundred years ago!!"
"Eight hundred years ago??!"
Hearing this, Garp and Sengoku both widened their eyes, their faces filled with utter disbelief, and they yelped in unison.
Eight hundred years—what did that concept even an?
They could live ten lifetis!
"Really or fake? Can a human live eight hundred years? Even the giant race, with the longest lifespans, can't live that long, right?"
Sengoku frowned as he spoke. It wasn't that he was unwilling to believe Kyle's words; it was simply too astonishing.
"Who said he had to be human? I know of that existence, but I wouldn't dare guarantee he's human."
"And even if he were human, it's not like there's no chance to live that long. The legendary ultimate ability of the Op-Op Fruit, the Perennial Youth Operation, is said to grant eternal life to the target, isn't it?"
"It's not just him; even the current Five Elders are old fellows who have lived for at least several hundred years. Those guys benefited from Im and all seem to have obtained the power of 'eternal life'!"
After hearing Kyle's words, Garp and Sengoku both fell into silence. This information was still a bit too shocking for them.
After another long mont, Kyle finished his tea and stood up.
"Anyway, I haven't figured out what that old guy is thinking either, making the Five Elders agree to my conditions. But no matter what he's thinking, at least this current situation is favorable to , that's enough."
Saying this, Kyle looked towards Sengoku, a hint of a smile on his face as he spoke:
"Grandpa, if you ever need Berries, when you help submit a report to the World Governnt asking for research funds, you can ask for a bit more. Then you can embezzle so from it, and that alone would be enough for who knows how long!"
"After all, it's the World Governnt's Berries, right? Why not use it?"
"Cough, cough!"
"What are you saying, kid? Do I look like that kind of person?"
Sengoku shot Kyle a light glare.
"Sengoku, you're not that kind of person, but I am! If you won't use it, you can embezzle it and give it to , right?"
"I feel like I really need it!!"
Garp 'flash-stepped' in front of Sengoku, rubbing his hands together with a grinning face.
"Get lost~~"
Watching these two old codgers bickering, a smile couldn't help but curl at the corner of Kyle's mouth again as he slowly walked towards the office door.
To be honest, it was good having a grandfather who was the Fleet Admiral. Many things, he only needed to inform him about.
In forming his warship corps, all he had to do was negotiate terms with the Five Elders; he didn't need to worry about anything else.
But on his way back, he caught sight of two familiar figures.
One of them was again a 'bubble pig'. He had dark green hair, a broad face, and thick lips.
As for the other figure, it was a rmaid. The upper half was human, the lower half a goldfish tail.
She had wavy, long golden hair, big blue eyes, and wore an orange crown-shaped hair clip on her head.
"Donquixote Mjosgard, and... Queen Otohi of Fish-Man Island!!"
"Is this the plot point for this ti?"
Kyle murmured softly.
He understood this segnt of the original story quite well.
To put it simply, it was the story of Otohi saving Mjosgard, Mjosgard contemplating the aning of emotion, and eventually reforming, saving Shirahoshi and the other rpeople during the Reverie ten years later as repaynt.
Yeah... very boring!!
Kyle glanced at them only once and then paid no further attention, continuing to walk forward on his own.
The conflict between humans and the Fish-Man race couldn't be resolved by Otohi alone. Racial conflicts were never an easy thing to solve.
In Kyle's view, her actions were sowhat... naive!!
If you want to ease the conflict, have you asked if humanity is willing? Have you asked if the Fish-Man race is willing?
Relying solely on one's own wishful thinking never ends well. If she hadn't done this, she wouldn't have been killed by Hody Jones later.
Her naivety killed her!
As for Mjosgard, Kyle didn't have a much better impression of him either.
After all, before being reford by 'Otohi', he was a standard 'bubble pig', no different from any of the others.
Enslaving humans and Fish-n as slaves.
Back when he ended up stranded on Fish-Man Island, Otohi shouldn't have stopped those Fish-n. It would have been better to let them settle scores, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, wouldn't it?
Although, that might have invited sanctions from the World Governnt anyway.
The saying 'drop the cleaver and beco a Buddha' is the most disgusting bullshit.
Having done countless bad things, then suddenly doing one good thing—does that make him a good person?
Can that one good deed offset all the bad things he did in the past?
That's not how the math works!
And frankly, as a Celestial Dragon, if he starts to feel sympathy for those so-called lowly people, then his death isn't far off.
So in the end, his result was being sentenced to death by that old bastard Garling.
Speaking of which, gotta curse him out again.
Garling truly is a bastard!!
So even though Kyle now knows Queen Otohi's eventual fate, he has no intention of being a saint and going to save her.
You chose this yourself, idol!
Letting go of the savior complex and respecting the destiny of others—this is the most correct approach!
