Smoker and Hina now understood everything. Vergo, a Vice Admiral from Marine Headquarters, had turned traitor, becoming a lackey of the Don Quixote Family! This was a shocking scandal, sothing that would rock the entire world.
At this mont, only one thought burned in their minds: defeat Vergo, send him to Enies Lobby to face justice, and restore the honor of the Marines!
Vergo gripped his bamboo stick tightly, his eyes, hidden behind sunglasses, swept coldly over Roya and the others. Even though he was outnumbered four to one, he didn't seem worried at all.
"You lot aren't strong enough to beat ," he sneered.
"Don't be so sure, Vergo," Roya retorted.
Slowly, Roya unsheathed Rain Cutter. The blade glead, reflecting his determination.
"People grow!"
For half a year, he had been planning, training, all for this mont.
If Ace hadn't beco famous so quickly, I might have waited another year before taking on Vergo.
But he couldn't wait.
I don't want to see Ace again and still be just a small-ti Colonel or Commodore, forced to look up at him in awe.
Those geniuses grew too fast!
If he didn't push himself, he'd never know his limits. He knew the price of staying comfortable.

They serve as warnings!
This was a world where you had to fight for your life.
"Barto, cover us! Smoker, Hina, attack with !" Roya roared, charging towards Vergo. Smoker and Hina, on his left and right, followed imdiately.
Barto stood frozen, fingers crossed, ready to use his barrier ability. But as he watched the dazzling battle unfold, his mind went blank.
"Huh? What am I supposed to do?"
I can't even keep up with their movents!
"Shave!"
Roya used Shave to appear in front of Vergo in a flash. He swung Rain Cutter down with all his might, aiming for Vergo's head, but Vergo easily blocked it with his bamboo stick.
At the sa ti, Smoker and Hina appeared on either side of Vergo, their Haki-infused jitte and powerful kick aid at him.
"How foolish!" Vergo roared, swinging his bamboo stick and deflecting Roya's blade. Then, with a mighty sweep, the stick created a powerful gust of wind, sending the others flying.
"Boom!"
All three were blown away.
Roya spun in the air, plunging his blade into the ground to stop himself. He slid along the ground, digging a long trench behind him.
Once he was steady, Roya pushed off with his legs, charging at Vergo again.
If I want to win, I have to face his attacks head-on. I can't let my subordinates take the brunt of it.
"Crack!"
Thunder exploded beside him, almost striking him.
"Aargh!"
Ignoring the thunder, Roya roared and charged, arriving right in front of Vergo. Rain Cutter sliced through the air!
"Ti Lag: Cross Strike!"
A massive, cross-shaped wave of energy shot forward!
The enormous size made it almost impossible to dodge.
Vergo didn't even try. Smoker and Hina were also in the area. No matter which way he moved, he would be hit.
He gripped the bamboo stick with both hands, covering them with a layer of black Haki, and forcibly blocked the oncoming Cross Strike.
"Clang!"
Sparks flew!
Vergo managed to stop the Cross Strike, but he was pushed back more than ten ters, barely managing to stay on his feet.
"What a powerful attack!"
Vergo was shocked.
When did that brat learn to do that?!
"White Smoke Emitter!"
Without a mont to waste, Smoker turned into smoke and flew in front of Vergo the instant the Cross Strike disappeared. His Haki-coated jitte stabbed towards Vergo's head!
"Don't even think about escaping!"
"Clasping Feather Cage!"
At the sa ti, Hina's arms shot out a large number of iron bars, quickly forming a cage and cutting off Vergo's retreat!
"Shave!"
In that split second, Vergo used Shave to vanish from the spot, dodging both the jitte and the closing iron bars!
But there was only one place he could go.
The sky!
"I've been waiting for you, Vergo!"
Roya, using Moon Walk, had already reached the sky and was waiting. When Vergo appeared, he imdiately swung Rain Cutter down!
"Clang!"
The bamboo stick blocked Rain Cutter again!
But this ti, Roya had the high ground. Using all his strength, he swung Rain Cutter, knocking Vergo down, who had nowhere to brace himself.
A flash of light disappeared.
"Boom!"
Smoke and dust filled the air!
"Not yet!"
Roya spun his body around and kicked out with all his might towards the smoke.
Smoker and Hina seized the opportunity to attack as well.
"Storm Leg: Great Moon Wheel!"
"Black Spear Array!"
"Ash Burning Smoke!"
A huge, moon-shaped wave of energy fell, followed by a dozen black spears stabbing down, and finally, black-gray smoke enveloped Vergo!
Smoker took a deep puff of his cigar, the tip glowing like a fuse, and instantly ignited the Ash Burning Smoke!
"Boom boom boom!"
A series of explosions!
The flas lit up the sky!
"Huff..."
Roya landed on the ground, panting heavily.
Smoker and Hina were also breathing hard. They had just gone through a fierce battle, and their bodies weren't at their peak.
And facing Vergo, knowing the gap in their power, they had held nothing back!
"How is it?!"
The three stared intently at the flas.
Their combined attack had been their strongest. Even a Vice Admiral couldn't have escaped unhard.
But they knew Vergo wouldn't fall so easily!
A figure erged from the flas!
"You really surprised ," Vergo said.
He walked out of the flas, half his face covered in blood, flas still flickering on his body. He was clearly badly hurt.
"You've grown very fast, so fast that I have to kill you!" Vergo roared, tearing off his burning coat, revealing rock-hard muscles. His skin, usually flesh-colored, now looked like it had been painted black, with a tallic sheen.
Full Body Haki Application!
Smoker and Hina's eyes widened.
They had never seen anyone cover their entire body in Haki. Just looking at it made them tremble.
Vergo held the bamboo stick in both hands, repeatedly slamming it against the ground. Each ti it hit, the ground cracked and crumbled with a loud boom.
The terrifying power was on full display!
"I'm coming, you brats!"
"Co on, then."
Roya's eyes were cold, unwavering.
No matter how strong Vergo's Haki is, I have to defeat him here. There's no turning back now.
"Smoker! Hina!"
"No need to shout; we understand!"
Smoker and Hina stood beside Roya, on his left and right. Any lingering fear vanished. They were no longer children and knew what they had to do.
To uphold the honor of the Marines, for the sake of justice, they would defeat Vergo, even if it ant sacrificing their lives!
"Let's go!"
