The tavern was a ss of broken wood and shattered glass.

With Iron Skin knocked out cold, the pirates' courage vanished. They dropped to their knees, their faces as white as ghosts. All they felt was utter despair.

"Black Hair beat Iron Skin! And Iron Skin had a bounty of 140 million!"

Iron Skin was their toughest guy. If he couldn't stand up to Black Hair, what chance did they have?

Giving up ant they might live. Fighting ant certain death.

And running?

The tavern was practically rubble, and their special lightning-proof cloaks were ruined in the fight. If they stepped outside, they'd be fried by the thunder for sure.

They knew how deadly this island was.

Roya casually took a seat at the bar and sipped his drink.

"Lu Yun," he said calmly, "tell our guys to round up these losers and take them back to the warship."

"Yes, sir!"

Lu Yun pulled out a Den Den Mushi, a snail-like device used for communication.

Soon, dozens of Marines arrived on the scene.

They stared at the wrecked tavern and Roya, coolly drinking at the bar. They gulped, impressed.

Our Colonel is a beast!

Without needing any orders, the Marines imdiately started hauling the pirates back to the warship.

Lu Yun played bartender, dutifully refilling Roya's wine glass.

"Sir, aren't we heading back?"

"Not yet. We're waiting for a guest."

Roya swirled the wine in his glass, a thoughtful expression on his face.

The Don Quixote Family assassins should be here any minute. I wonder which big shot they'll send to deal with .

Pica would be the biggest pain, but he probably won't show. This island's lightning would make his Stone-Stone Fruit power useless. Turning into a giant would just make him a lightning rod.

---

Over on the north side of the island, a pirate ship pulled into a hidden cove.

"This island is insane!"

Diamanti shivered, looking at the sky filled with crackling lightning.

Even in the New World, Thunder God Island was one of the most dangerous places around. The constant barrage of lightning was a real testant to nature's power.

"We need to take out all the Marines on this island so our target doesn't get spooked. Focus on the leader first. I'll handle Black Hair. You guys take care of Smoker, Bartoloo, and Hina!"

"Understood!"

The fighting squad consisted of four tough guys: Diamanti, one of the top dogs in the Don Quixote Family, followed by Lao G, Señor, and Machvise.

Their targets were also a group of four, so dividing up the work wasn't an issue. They knew everything about their targets and had already planned their attacks.

"Let's go!"

The four of them pulled on their cloaks and stepped onto the dangerous shores of Thunder God Island.

---

anwhile, in the eastern part of the island, a pirate stronghold was engulfed in flas.

"Hehehe! Burn, you scum!"

Barto, grinning like a madman, waved a torch and gleefully set everything ablaze. His crew helped him, making sure no one got out alive.

Whenever a pirate tried to escape the inferno, they'd slam into an invisible barrier and collapse back into the flas, screaming in agony.

"What an idiot!"

Smoker couldn't stand it anymore. Even though pirates were generally awful people, Barto's actions were too much for him to stomach.

Torturing pirates isn't a good habit.

"Tashigi, let's go."

Smoker turned to leave. If I stick around with Bartoloo any longer, I'm going to lose it.

He hadn't gone far when he stopped dead in his tracks.

In the shadows of the street ahead, an old man in a cloak was approaching.

Smoker gripped his jitte, a weapon tipped with a sea-stone. He could feel the intense killing intent radiating from the old man. This guy was strong!

"Who are you?"

"Smoker the White Hunter," Smoker replied cautiously.

The old man raised his hands, making a strange "G" gesture.

"Your head is mine! G!"

"BOOM!!!"

A massive explosion suddenly rocked the area behind them!

Smoker whipped around. The explosion had occurred right where Barto had been gleefully setting fires. It looked like the enemy was trying to wipe them all out.

Roya, is this what you were planning?

Smoker took a deep breath.

I had a feeling sothing was up. Roya didn't say it directly, but I knew coming to Thunder God Island would an a tough fight.

I'm ready for a life-or-death battle!

Smoker glared at the old man in front of him. "So, you're with Doflamingo?" he asked coldly.

Besides the Don Quixote Family, he couldn't think of anyone else who'd want to attack them. And why would Roya deliberately provoke a Warlord of the Sea? It didn't make sense.

"Don't you dare speak the Young Master's na, you white-haired gorilla!"

Lao G roared, his face turning red with fury. He lunged forward, his leg aid at Smoker's head!

"Attack!"

"Bang!"

The kick was blocked by Smoker's jitte!

Over in the western part of the town, Hina, with a cigarette dangling from her lips, watched Señor erge from the ground. The fact that he was wearing baby clothes left her speechless.

"Seriously? My opponent's a pervert? Ugh, just my luck."

Señor, sucking on his pacifier, crossed his arms, looking equally unhappy. "I'm not thrilled about fighting a weak woman either!"

"Huh, you wouldn't know it by looking at you," Hina said, surprised. He didn't seem like a gentleman, but his behavior was oddly honorable.

He clearly had the skills to sneak up and assassinate her, but instead, he'd appeared openly.

Hina opened her arms, and tal bars shot out from her sleeves.

"I'll just have to capture you alive!"

"Clasping Feather Cage!"

The fence-like tal bars extended from Hina's arms, instantly surrounding Señor. Hina closed her arms, trying to trap him!

"Clang!"

The tal bars slamd together, sending sparks flying. But Señor, who should have been caught, was gone!

"Glug glug~~"

The ground next to Hina rippled like water.

Señor crawled out of the ground, still with his arms crossed. "That was close! You almost got with that dangerous ability."

"Don't lie; I'm not stupid," Hina scoffed.

His ability seems to turn the ground into a fluid, like water, so he can swim through it.

When the tal bars closed, he dove into the ground as if diving into a pool, easily avoiding the trap.

A very troubleso ability.

Señor sighed. "I don't want to hurt won, but I have to follow the Young Master's orders. You better be careful, Iron Barricade Woman."

"Don't worry; I'm tough," Hina replied with a smile.

This enemy is strange, but he's not as hateful as most pirates.

---

Back in the town center, at the ruined tavern, Roya was still drinking when soone stood behind him.

"Well, well. Doflamingo actually sent one of his top executives."

"You've heard of ?"

Diamanti was pleased. He liked being recognized; it ant he was a hero.

Unfortunately, after Doffy beca a Warlord of the Sea, my bounty was capped at 99 million Berries. It's hard to get famous when you're bounty is frozen like that. Guess I'm stuck being a local hero at the Corrida Colosseum in Dressrosa.

"Of course I've heard of you."

Roya turned around, holding his wine glass and leaning against the bar. A smile spread across his face. "Diamanti, a top executive of the Don Quixote Family, the Hero of the Corrida Colosseum. Am I right?"

"Hahaha! That's right! I, the great Diamanti, am the Hero of the Corrida Colosseum!"

Diamanti grinned. He only acted humble around his family. With outsiders, he had to show off a bit.

"Diamanti, I'm very glad you're the one who ca to assassinate ."

Roya set down his wine glass, his face becoming serious.

Diamanti was getting cocky from all the praise. His mouth almost twisted into a smile. He couldn't help but ask, "Why?"

"Well..."

Roya narrowed his eyes, revealing his true intentions.

"Because, to be honest, you're the weakest of the top executives!"

"..."

Diamanti's smile vanished. He was so angry, his face twisted into an ugly grimace.

For him, this was the most insulting, the most vicious insult he'd ever heard!

"I'm going to tear you apart!"

"Black Hair!!!"
