[Boom! Boom! Boom!]
The blue sky filled with projectiles that flew through the air with a sharp whistle, turning into flas and shock waves as they hit the ground.
The ground shook with each explosion, and brown pieces of debris scattered everywhere. In the blink of an eye, dust and smoke covered the Dinsional Gate.
At this mont, Charlotte Cracker stood in front of the dinsional gate with a serious expression. Behind him were his siblings, Charlotte Oven and Charlotte Daifuku.
There were also several army officers. One of them sighed. "As we thought, we can't do it. The enemy wants to completely seal off our passage."
Cracker had created three hundred Cookie Soldiers with his Devil Fruit ability, but shortly after crossing the dinsional gate, they were destroyed by the incessant bombardnt.
Daifuku glanced at Oven who went to comfort Cracker, and then said: "Compared to that, I am more surprised by the other side's ability to predict the future."
"Didn't you notice? The enemy didn't start firing until all the biscuit soldiers had crossed. They didn't fire either before or during the crossing. Doesn't that suggest they knew exactly how many we would send?"
Everyone looked at each other in concern upon hearing this, realizing that the enemy from the other world was more difficult to handle than they had imagined.
At that mont Crocodile arrived along with two people.
"Lieutenant General Crocodile!"
"The higher-ups are also curious about the enemy's ability to foresee the future. So we're going to do a test." Crocodile then introduced the people behind him. "This is Brook from CP9, user of the Revive-Revive Fruit."
"Yohohohoho, nice to et you, please take care of ~~" Brook took off his hat and bowed, but this ti he wasn't showing his skeleton face, instead he was wearing a realistic mask that made him look a lot like his old self.
This was because his skeleton face had beco a public image of the 'Soul King', a world star, so he had to hide his true identity during missions.
Crocodile continued to introduce the figure to his right.
"And this is Gecko Moria, jailer of Impel Down and user of the Shadow-Shadow Fruit."
"Kishishishi~" Gecko Moria was in a very good mood, happy to have the opportunity to travel and see other worlds, especially one in a state of war, which he found fascinating.
"What do you plan to do?" Oven asked curiously.
"Brook and Moria have three missions." Crocodile replied as he lit a cigarette.
"First, determine if the enemy's ability to foresee the future includes seeing things invisible to the human eye, such as souls."
"Second, check if the enemy has any ans to attack or capture non-physical entities, such as souls or shadows."
"Third, gather as much valuable information as they can. Unfortunately, they cannot take the Den-Den Mushi with them, so they will have to report back to us on their return."
Daifuku was pleasantly surprised, and several other military officers also nodded in approval.
"Then you two, let's start." Crocodile said solemnly to Brook and Moria.
"Yohohohoho~ Very exciting task, I will do my best!"
Brook, laughing, sat down on the ground. Moria, for his part, imdiately activated his Devil Fruit ability.
The next mont, the shadow beneath Moria twisted and then rose from the ground before turning into a silhouette identical to Moria's.
anwhile, Brook's soul floated out of his body, appearing as a dark green ghost before everyone present.
"Go, good luck~" Crocodile said with a smile. Then, he couldn't hold back his laughter and started laughing out loud, while Brook's shadow and ghost slipped into the dinsional door. "Kuahahahaha!"
...
The dinsional door was really like a door. Once opened, one could see the other side. So, at a short distance, one could still observe what was happening.
So Crocodile and the others, who were on the other side of the dinsional gate, were surprised to see that Moria's shadow had crossed over without any problems. No enemy fire had fallen, allowing him to fly away undisturbed.
After a while of not seeing any reaction from the enemy, Moria made his shadow return through the dinsional door to take a Den-Den Mushi with it.
[Swish! Swish!]
But when the shadow had barely crossed the dinsional door with a Den-Den Mushi, two projectiles exploded, filling the air with flas and shock waves that passed through the dinsional door.
"Hmph!" Luckily, at that mont Crocodile acted quickly, throwing out a large amount of sand as a shield.
"Damn, the Den-Den Mushi is dead!" Gecko Moria cursed in frustration.
...
"The enemy was targeting the Den-Den Mushi, which ans they know what it is. Their ability to foresee the future is truly impressive." In the Room of Authority, Ju Peter saw this scene and sighed. "So no matter what we do, it has actually been calculated by the other side!"
"This complicates things. It seems we can only get more information through Brook's testimony." Mars said with a resigned expression.
Warcury mused: "If the enemy already knows everything about the future, he surely has an idea of the strength of both sides."
"If they think they're stronger than us, why don't they just attack us instead of staying stuck? After all, maintaining an army of millions consus astronomical resources every day."
Saturn said, doubtfully: "Could it be that the enemy knows that the dinsional gate can be closed and that's why they don't want to risk being trapped in our world? From the beginning, they haven't thought about invading."
Warcury frowned and nodded silently.
The situation seed to have reached a standstill again.
...
Five hours later, Brook's soul returned with disheartening information.
"The enemy camp is huge. I could only see a small part of it floating, but at least I rembered the general location of the artillery batteries." Brook said, embarrassed.
"Did you find their headquarters or the na of their faction? Anything peculiar?" Crocodile asked.
"I didn't see anything strange." While recalling, Brook said: "But there is a serious problem, that is, the enemy's language and writing. I can't understand or read them at all, so I can't find the enemy's headquarters at all."
"There is no Japanese and English there?" Crocodile looked at Brook in surprise. So far, the two worlds they had encountered had these languages, albeit with so grammatical differences.
"No." Brook shook his head in certainty. "Even if there is, it can't be the other party's main language."
The situation again reached a stalemate.
...
The next day.
After much discussion by the World Governnt, as well as Imu's approval, it was decided to send General-level fighters to obtain information from the other world.
General Byrnndi World along with five lieutenant generals and ten major generals behind him and appeared in front of the dinsional gate.
Among them, the most famous was Jozu. The others were naless warriors.
"Rember, when you cross the dinsional gate, don't hesitate to imdiately fly into the sky and then follow at full speed towards enemy lines." Byrnndi World instructed the fifteen n behind him.
"Yes, General!" Jozu and the others responded in unison.
"Let's go!" Byrnndi World shouted loudly and at the sa ti activated the ability of his Devil Fruit, then imdiately turned into an afterimage and rushed through the dinsional door.
[Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!]
Imdiately, Jozu and the others moved at high speed.
"Huh?!" Byrnndi World had barely stepped out of the dinsional gate when his Kenbunshoku Haki detected sothing. He instinctively raised his head and saw a dazzling white light burst into his field of vision. "Not good!!"
[Boom!!!]
A huge explosion occurred, the entire world seed to turn white in that instant.
Even the heat and fog coming through the dinsional gate caused a part of the base to explode.
This scene left everyone stunned.
"Nuclear bomb?!" On the Moon, in front of the virtual screen, Imu stood up suddenly.
Although the Den-Den Mushi only transmitted a flash of white light, as he watched the destruction of the base, Imu imdiately thought of this possibility.
"No, we need to check for radiation!" Imu imdiately took out a Den-Den Mushi and called the Five Elders.
At this mont, the area around the Dinsional Gate base was in chaos. The soldiers did not know how to react.
Luckily, it wasn't long before a group of Cipher Pol agents, along with a dozen investigators in hazmat suits, arrived at the scene. In addition, these researchers carried radiation detectors.
Investigators walked carefully through the rubble, watching radiation ters.
But the further they went, the stranger it looked. They couldn't detect any radiation. Instead, they found Jozu, seriously injured and unconscious.
He was imdiately transferred to the dical departnt of the army headquarters.
However, they did not find the other people. When they cleared away the debris, the dinsion door seed to have not been affected at all.
Sakazuki, who had arrived to inspect, looked through the gate and his expression changed drastically when he saw the charred corpse of Byrnndi World.
There was no trace of anyone else, probably disintegrated by the explosion.
The army general... was dead!
