Are geniuses rare?

Even if only one appears among ten thousand—

With a global population in the billions, wouldn't that still an hundreds of thousands of geniuses?

Those born with Conqueror's Haki are uncommon, yes. But in the New World, among the truly renowned figures—how many don't possess it?

Talent is worthy of praise.

But survival—

That is both the simplest and the hardest requirent of all.

Allowing an enemy to grow into a future threat?

Roldy had no intention of committing such stupidity.

The mont he finished speaking, a savage killing intent surged outward. His relatively weaker Observation Haki locked onto Shanks.

Shanks' face instantly turned pale.

He turned involuntarily—

And t Roldy's ferocious gaze.

It was the terror of an ant locked in the sights of a lion.

Even if wolves stood nearby to guard it—

The outco was still near-certain death.

"The seedlings of the new era cannot be snuffed out so easily!"

Rayleigh gritted his teeth.

His blade erupted with Advanced Conqueror's Haki Coating. He spared no thought for exhaustion, pushing himself to the limit.

He knew Roldy too well.

That man repaid grudges without fail.

Words spoken were ironclad.

If Roldy declared Shanks would die—

He would see it through.

"If you want to touch Shanks, you'll have to knock the two of us down first!"

Gaban's twin axes collided, his weakened aura surging violently once more. Advanced Conqueror's Haki Coating wrapped around his weapons as well.

The "right hand" and "left hand" of the Pirate King—

Both wielders of Conqueror's Haki.

For a crew of fewer than fifty n to possess four Conqueror's Haki users—

It would have sounded absurd if not witnessed firsthand.

"Then let's see how long you two can last!"

Roldy grinned.

If he was going all out—

There was no need to hold back.

His arms flexed violently. Muscles swelled.

Deep crimson lightning crawled across his skin.

Advanced Conqueror's Haki Coating.

A technique reserved only for the sea's absolute top-tier monsters.

And now—

It wrapped around him.

In the next instant, he vanished.

His towering ten-ter fra moved with inhuman speed. Even Rayleigh and Gaban's Observation Haki struggled to react.

Perhaps their Haki perceived it—

But the ti required for the brain to process the signal was fatal.

Ordinary reaction ti: 0.5 seconds.

Top-tier fighters: less than 0.1.

But 0.1 seconds—

Was enough.

"Advanced Conqueror's—Iron Fist: World!"

He held nothing back.

Death rang in Rayleigh and Gaban's minds. Their bodies reacted before thought.

Weapons raised instinctively.

Three streams of Advanced Conqueror's Haki collided.

For a split second—

Space itself seed to freeze.

Silence swallowed heaven and earth.

Then—

An explosion tore across the island.

The shockwave uprooted trees so thick three grown n couldn't encircle them. Massive trunks snapped in half like twigs.

Four words described it best:

Terrifying beyond asure.

Above, Roger and Shiki both felt it.

Locked in deadly combat monts ago, their eyes shifted simultaneously.

Roger's jaw nearly dropped.

"This is impossible! That brat's Conqueror's Haki… it's reached this level?!"

Even Roger—

A natural-born genius—

Felt the crushing weight of true monstrosity.

"Jihahahaha! What do you think, Roger? My right-hand man is stronger than yours! Coming into my territory was the stupidest mistake of your life! Sleep here forever!"

Shiki roared with delight.

For once, he had sothing over Roger.

His blades struck even harder.

In that mont, he felt imnse gratitude for a long-ago whim that had brought Roldy into his orbit.

Without it—

Their paths would never have crossed.

"Shut up, Shiki! I'm a free man! And Rayleigh and the others can handle that monster! Our journey doesn't end here!"

Roger barked like a cat whose tail had been stepped on.

Freedom—

That was why he sailed.

The battle escalated again.

The Golden Lion Pirates abandoned long-range bombardnt entirely. They stord the island in full force.

Close-quarters combat erupted—brutal and bloody.

Compared to their opponents' savage ferocity, the Roger Pirates' morale was visibly strained.

And then—

A cannon blast echoed across the battlefield.

Both sides paused.

A third party?

On the distant horizon—

One ship broke through the waves.

Then another.

Then several more massive warships.

The seagull insignia fluttered high above.

Their identity needed no explanation.

"Marines?!" ×2

Roger and Shiki both exclaid.

With both pirate crews locked in all-out battle—

The Marines' arrival was the worst possible developnt.

"So they're here to reap the benefits?"

Shiki's expression darkened.

On the lead warship—

A familiar, imposing figure stood tall and unshaken.

"Sengoku!!!"
