Prior to Vivi and Marianne boarding the ship, the sleeping arrangents had been Ganyu on the large bed and Nami in the hammock.
However, Nami would always sneak onto the large bed at night, habitually hugging the soft, faintly fragrant Ganyu to sleep.
Ganyu resisted at first. Being pressed tightly against a hot-bodied beautiful girl made it difficult for her to fall asleep. But after several ineffective struggles, she had no choice but to let it be and allow Nami to do as she pleased.
Perhaps influenced by her physical form, her personality had also beco sowhat softer.
After Vivi and Marianne boarded, Nami magnanimously ceded the privilege of sleeping with Ganyu to the two of them.
Fortunately, Vivi and Marianne were not as "hands-on" as Nami, and their sleeping postures were very disciplined. Usually, they would chat softly with her in bed for a while at night before everyone drifted off to peaceful sleep.
Tonight, however, the situation seed different.
Vivi's breathing... sounded unstable.
Ganyu's brows furrowed slightly.
Her perception of the surrounding environnt, especially temperature changes, was abnormally acute. She could clearly feel that Princess Vivi's body temperature beside her had risen significantly. It was like a fever.
Moreover, her breathing rhythm tonight was different from usual. It appeared exceptionally heavy and rapid, as if she were trapped in so terrible nightmare.
With a thought, Ganyu quietly reached out and gently covered Vivi's smooth forehead.
A mont later.
"She really is sick..." Ganyu was slightly startled.
She looked up at Nami sleeping peacefully in the hammock. The navigator's breathing was steady, her temperature normal, and her condition showed no abnormalities.
In the original story, it should have been Nami who contracted the virus after being bitten by bugs on Little Garden. The Straw Hat crew would then travel to Drum Island to find a doctor to save her.
But now, the person who caught the virus had beco Vivi.
Clearly, this was the butterfly effect caused by Ganyu's presence.
Ganyu pondered for a mont. Without hesitation, she quietly condensed a trace of imperceptible ice-blue light at her fingertips and gently tapped it into the center of Vivi's brow.
Nurtured by her power, Vivi's originally rapid breathing gradually beca steadier. Her continuously rising body temperature was also temporarily brought under control, ceasing to worsen.
However, the virus was not eliminated.
Her Qilin essence possessed powerful healing effects capable of treating both external and internal injuries. But for this special virus transmitted by insect bites, it could only alleviate the symptoms, not eradicate the source of the disease.
Still, at least Vivi's vital signs had stabilized. Her life would not be in danger in the short term.
"This works out..." Ganyu thought silently. "Tomorrow, we can logically change course and head to Drum Island to find Chopper."
If it ca down to a true thod to cure Vivi, she wasn't without options.
Her essence might not work, but Qilin blood certainly would. Giving Vivi just a single drop of her blood would guarantee an instant cure.
However, if she easily cured Vivi now, the Straw Hat crew might miss the chance to et their future ship doctor and ergency food reserve, Chopper.
For the sake of Chopper, the Princess would have to suffer a little for now.
Thinking of this, a trace of apology rose in Ganyu's heart.
She thought for a mont, then moved gently to turn on her side. She pulled Princess Vivi, who seed fragile due to her illness, into her arms. She used her own body temperature and the gentle elental energy flowing within her to continuously nurture Vivi's body.
On the other side, Marianne sensed the movent.
She slowly opened her eyes. Who knows what she was thinking, but she hugged Ganyu's back, pressed her cheek against Ganyu, and gradually drifted back into dreamland.
...
Early the next morning.
"What! Princess Vivi is sick?"
Sanji was greatly shocked. He leaned close to Vivi's bed in one step and asked nervously:
"Miss Ganyu, can't even you cure her?"
They had all seen Ganyu's performance several tis. They knew that no matter how severe the injury, her ability could bring people back from the brink of death.
"My ability can only heal injuries, not cure diseases." Ganyu shook her head gently, her tone carrying a hint of appropriate helplessness.
"I've done a preliminary check of Vivi's condition."
Nami took over the conversation with a grave expression. She possessed so basic dical knowledge, but it was limited to dealing with minor ailnts like colds and fevers.
"Her symptoms... it's very likely she's been infected with so kind of unknown virus."
"A virus?! Th... then what should we do? We don't have a real doctor on our ship!" Usopp imdiately panicked.
For pirates sailing the seas for long periods, strange diseases were the most terrifying things. Without a doctor or suitable dication, only death awaited them.
"Isn't it simple? Let's just go find a doctor imdiately," Luffy said as a matter of course, tilting his head.
"Mhm. That is indeed the most feasible thod right now." Zoro nodded in agreent, arms crossed.
"Miss Nami," Sanji looked urgently at the navigator. "According to the normal route, how long will it take to reach the next island indicated by the Log Pose?"
Nami took out the Log Pose and the nautical charts, calculated carefully, and frowned deeply.
"According to the direction the needle is pointing now, we are most likely on the main route straight to Alabasta."
"This ans... we need about seven days to reach Alabasta."
"Seven days?"
Hearing this number, everyone's hearts sank.
Anyone could see that Vivi's current condition was not optimistic. With a persistent high fever and blurred consciousness, if they dragged this out for a whole week, the consequences would be unimaginable.
Only Ganyu knew the truth.
With the continuous nurturing of her elental energy last night, Vivi's condition was far less critical than it appeared. Forget a year or a half; she would have absolutely no problem holding on for a month or two.
But naturally, she wouldn't point this out. After all, this "tily" illness of Vivi's was the key opportunity to guide the Straw Hat crew to Drum Island and et the ship doctor, Chopper.
"Perhaps... we don't have to follow the Log Pose's guidance for the ti being."
Nami also felt that Vivi might not last seven days. She looked up at the sky.
Suddenly, she reached out and precisely caught a snowflake drifting quietly down from the clouds. A gleam of light flashed in her eyes instantly.
"I'm certain there is an island with a doctor very close to us right now! If we change course and advance at full speed, we might be able to arrive in less than a day!"
On the Grand Line, the multitude of islands could be divided into four categories: Spring Island, Sumr Island, Autumn Island, and Winter Island.
Almost every island had a different climate and environnt. Therefore, the sea weather between islands would be affected by neighboring islands and beco extrely unstable, resulting in various abnormal weather phenona.
The snowflake Nami had just caught was clear evidence of a nearby Winter Island!
The others on the ship naturally didn't have Nami's rich nautical knowledge. Except for Ganyu, who seed to recall sothing and hurriedly took out the Grand Line Navigation Guide to read, everyone else listened in a daze.
Imdiately after, a look of surprise quickly replaced the previous worry, spreading across everyone's faces.
Luffy clapped his hands together and made the decision.
"Then it's decided! We're going to the island Nami ntioned to find a doctor!"
