"I’m afraid it’s too late." Alexander’s voice sounded from behind, like a judge who had risen from hell. He didn’t earn his title as King of Yama for nothing.
Alexander calmly strode towards the so-called blaless leader.
The man took a step backwards in fear. He didn’t expect that the first ti he tried to cover up sothing backfired on him.
"Mr. Blackwood..." He started, feeling at a loss for words. He couldn’t even defend himself.
"Who are you working for?" Alexander asked calmly, though the look in his eyes was beyond calm.
"It’s... not... it’s not what you think." Kevin stamred.
Alexander scoffed. "Do you think I have a problem with my ears?"
His gaze drifted to the junior officer. "Take him away. I’ll personally interrogate him."
Kevin’s eyes bulged. It was over. There was no fixing this. His career, his reputation... everything was over.
Alexander’s expression turned darker as he watched the man being whisked away.
His eyes narrowed, and he brought out his phone. He dialed a number to which the call connected instantly.
"Help investigate soone." He instructed calmly. He was 80% sure that the man wouldn’t speak or tell the truth. To save himself the trouble of interrogation, he would rather have his intelligence team look into him.
"Who’s it, Boss?" A lazy reply ca from the other end.
"Kevin Thorne. I need to know who he was in contact with throughout this week, including today."
"You want to investigate a police officer? What’s your price?" The reply ca. This ti, the tone was filled with interest.
Alexander didn’t focus on the second half of the statent. Rather, his interest lay in the first half..
"How did you know he was a police officer? I didn’t explicitly tell you he was, did I?" Alexander’s tone was filled with probing as he expected an answer.
"Brother," the person started, his voice filled with teasing. "Everyone knows Kevin Thorne. The most respectable officer in the Precinct. They also know that he didn’t depend on his wife’s family to get to where he was." There was a scoff at the end of his words before he continued. "If you’d ask , he’s the most hypocritical person I’ve ever t in my entire life."
Alexander sensed sothing was off, but he was unable to place his finger on what felt off.
"You are wondering why I criticised him that much, aren’t you?" The man inquired with a laugh.
Alexander didn’t reply. But his silence was equivalent to wanting to know more.
"That’s because he’s my father. And I know what he’s capable of. He can do anything for money, even using his own wife."
Alexander trembled. He didn’t expect this to be the truth. That being said, Kevin must probably have a lot of cris which had been covered up.
"You have evidence about his cri, don’t you?" Alexander asked with his hand folded. His voice was low as he was careful to not wake the sleeping Serena. She has had a long day, and he was only able to put her to sleep after a while.
The man on the other end of the line laughed mirthlessly. "Of course. I’ve been collecting evidence ever since I knew how to operate a computer. I want to destroy the man who put my mother through hell."
Alexander could sense the anger in the man’s tone, and his lips curled up. This was perfect. Anger beget results. He would use Kevin’s son to deal with him.
"I promise to help you get justice for your mother and expose your father’s true face, but..." he paused. "I need you to help with what I asked."
"You don’t need to worry about that. As long as I have your word, then I’m sure Mr. Thorne would have no other option than to pay for his cris." These words were loud and filled with conviction.
"Perfect."
After Alexander got what he wanted, he disconnected the call. His eyes drifted to the place where Mama once laid, unmoving and cold. His palm clenched into fists.
"Don’t worry, Serena. I’ll make sure that the killer and the mastermind doesn’t escape. They will pay for this cri committed." Alexander’s eyes were blackened as determination swirled in them.

anwhile, Rhea was in the middle of reviewing a new script when a call ca in. Seeing the number, her lips involuntarily lifted up. She picked the call, and it was connected instantly.
"Tell , how did it go?" She asked, her eyes sparkling with excitent.
"It’s done. The old woman is gone." The man answered subserviently.
"Perfect!" Rhea burst into laughter hysterically, even scaring the maids who were working outside her room. "The oldie is finally gone. I wish I could see Serena’s grief-stricken face." She muttered disappointedly.
"Miss, Miss. Wilson was dropped off by Mr. Alexander and they both walked into the apartnt together." He stopped, sighed, then continued. "Surely, Alexander would investigate today’s matter. I don’t want to go to jail."
"Relax, I have everything under the control. The head of the investigative unit of the Precinct owes a favour. I have inford him to close the case."
The man was taken aback. "How did you know I was successful?" He asked, curiosity and suspicion laced in his tone.
"That’s because I trust you. You won’t let suffer, would you?" Rhea’s voice dropped lower, more sensual this ti.
The man forgot all about his suspicions and curiosity when he heard her voice. Rhea’s voice was like a mouse, making an itch against his chest..
He suppressed his feelings, closing his eyes as he said. "Since you’ve said you’ve handled it, then I’m at peace."
Rhea played with her hair as she listened to his heavy breathing. As expected... no man could resist her sensual tone.
Her eyes flashed impatiently when Alexander crossed her mind. He was the only one who could resist her. It was funny. There was once a ti when he couldn’t do without her... but now, he despised her.
Forget it. He would be mine soon, just like always. She thought to herself as a calculating glint flashed through her eyes.
