"Hahaha..."
Upon hearing this, the won surrounding Sophie Sullivan also burst into laughter, their gazes toward Ivy Kensington growing increasingly hostile.
Tonight, they had all heard that Master Blackwood would be coming.
This so-called ex-wife might just be here for Master Blackwood too—how shaless!
Ivy Kensington finally spared a glance at the others.
Her indifferent gaze swept over Sophie Sullivan as she spoke, "If I didn’t know better, I’d think you were Claire Crowley’s lapdog, barking so loudly."
"You...!!"
Sophie Sullivan hadn’t expected Ivy Kensington to dare confront her in front of so many people and was montarily red-faced with anger.
This bitch!
"Enough."
At this point, Claire Crowley, having watched the commotion long enough, stepped forward.
She gracefully stood beside Sophie Sullivan, smiling at Ivy Kensington, "Miss Kensington, I’m sorry, I don’t recall the Crowley family sending you an invitation—did you co to the wrong place?"
Her words were perfectly polite, but any observant person could see that Claire Crowley was deliberately mocking Ivy Kensington.
Mocking her for not having an invitation, as if she ca unbidden.
Ivy Kensington was unbothered and directly said, "I’ll have your father personally invite inside soon."
"Ha!"
Sophie Sullivan was the first to laugh out loud, rolling her eyes, "Please, do you think you’re still Master Blackwood’s wife? Getting Mayor Crowley to invite you—how big is your ego?"
In all of Celestia, the only person who could make Mayor Crowley personally co out to invite them was Master Blackwood!
Who does Ivy Kensington think she is?
Claire Crowley also showed disdain in her eyes, though her expression remained gentle, "Miss Kensington, that joke is really not funny at all; my father is very busy, there’s no way he can personally co to invite you."
"Indeed, indeed."
Sophie Sullivan excitedly added, "If Mayor Crowley cos out personally to invite you, I’ll crawl through the entire banquet tonight!"
"Is that so?"
Ivy Kensington’s pink lips curled into a playful smile as she looked at Sophie Sullivan, "Alright then, let’s make this bet. Don’t forget your promise if you lose."
It wasn’t until this mont that Sophie Sullivan realized she had been maneuvered into a corner by Ivy Kensington, feeling a bit flustered but quickly pulling herself together.
There’s nothing to be nervous about.
With this bet, Ivy Kensington is bound to lose!
So Sophie Sullivan said, "Then if you lose, you have to kneel and lick Claire’s shoes!"
"Sophie, don’t play around." Claire Crowley reproached Sophie Sullivan, "It’s not nice to treat Miss Kensington like that."
Sophie Sullivan reassured her, "Claire, you are just so kind-hearted. This bet was proposed by Ivy Kensington herself; we didn’t force her into it. Besides, she agreed to it, so you don’t have to worry."
"Alright then."
Claire Crowley seed reluctantly to agree.
Shortly after, Claire Crowley called Mayor Crowley, "Dad, there’s a Miss Kensington here who wants to see you, and she insists on having you invite her personally."
"Miss Kensington? What Miss Kensington? I don’t know her!"
Mayor Crowley, busy as he was, bluntly rejected the call.
Claire Crowley had put the phone on speaker, so Mayor Crowley’s impatient tone was heard by everyone around, with Sophie Sullivan leading the laughter.
"Hahaha, it’s truly hilarious! Soone claid Mayor Crowley would invite her personally—what a pity, he doesn’t even know her!"
After speaking, Sophie Sullivan’s proud sneer grew more arrogant. She looked at Ivy Kensington with her chin raised, "Ivy Kensington, you lost. Be true to your wager!"
Claire Crowley also chid in, "Miss Kensington, it’s not my desire to trouble you, but you proposed the bet yourself. I’ll find a pair of slightly cleaner shoes; honor your wager and lick them clean."
