But with its tentacles all severed, it was utterly helpless.
The others, rifles in hand, encircled the creature.
The rcenaries stepped aside, allowing the elder and the younger to approach the vine monster.
The young man, with his aura of distinction, looked on impassively at the nearly incapacitated vine creature and spoke in a detached tone.
“Uncle Ming, let’s end this swiftly!” he declared before turning and stepping back.
The middle-aged man cradling a sword at his side responded with deference, “As you wish, Eldest Young Master!”
He then cast a commanding glance at the rcenaries encircling them. “Fall back ten ters!”
At his command, the rcenaries, not daring to delay, promptly acknowledged, “Understood, sir!”
As the rcenaries withdrew, Uncle Ming unsheathed his sword, which emitted a chilling gleam. Clasping a spell in his hand, he closed his eyes, and his sword began to radiate a brilliant golden light.
”Whoosh!”
His eyes snapped open, and from them, two beams of golden light burst forth. With a powerful stomp, he leaped skyward.
With a thunderous cry, he bellowed, “Sword of the Divine Path!”
A streak of gold sliced through the air, cleaving the vine creature’s head and piercing it in an instant.
“Boom!”
An explosion thundered forth.
“Aaah!”
A piercing scream echoed across the land, its psychic assault causing the nearby rcenaries to wince in agony, dropping their weapons and clutching their heads.
Uncle Ming, bearing the brunt of the attack, felt blood trickle from the corner of his mouth.
Suddenly, a verdant beam of light burst from the vine monster, transforming into a streak that fled into the distance.
“The heart of a millennium-old tree—Young Master, pursue it!” Uncle Ming bellowed.
At his call, the young master sprang into action, giving chase.
anwhile, on the outskirts, Jiang Hao watched with a puzzled look as the erald light streaked directly toward him.
