C473 – There Was Nothing Impossible about the Grievous Ghosts Reporting the Case

Jiang Hao’s voice once again pierced the stillness of the air.

“Rember, don’t ntion my na!”

“And I don’t want to hear about any trouble here during this ti!”

“Otherwise, hmph!”

With that stern warning, Jiang Hao turned and walked away.

Hearing this, Xia Lan quickly promised, his voice quivering with fear.

“Xia Lan wouldn’t dare, Xia Lan wouldn’t dare!”

Once Jiang Hao had departed, the piano room was left with only the red-dressed female ghost, Xia Lan, subdued by Jiang Hao’s Talisman Arts.

“It’s true what they say: there’s always a higher sky, always soone above you.”

Xia Lan murmured to herself, the words tinged with self-mockery.

“Creak~”

“Don’t move, don’t move…”

In that mont, four figures stealthily made their way into the piano room.

They were the ones assigned to keep watch. After entering the dense fog, they had lost their bearings, blinded by the ghostly illusion, unwittingly walking in circles.

It was only after Xia Lan, outmatched by Jiang Hao, had lifted the ghostly veil to focus all her energy on him that they found their way to the piano room.

Now, with guns gripped tightly in their hands and bodies wound tight, they scanned the room quickly.

Almost instinctively, their guns pointed toward Xia Lan, trapped within the golden cage.

Shock painted their faces as they took in the sight before them.

“A ghost?”

Their hearts pounded furiously, a shiver coursing through them as a cold dread settled in.

After a tense silence, Yang Hongi gathered her courage to speak.

“You… Who are you?”

Xia Lan, facing the wary quartet, showed a hint of self-derision.

“Who would have thought that even in death, I’d need the living’s law enforcers to plead my case!”

……

Eventually, the talismanic runes above Xia Lan’s head faded away, and she was free at last, her face brightening with relief.

But this ti, she was careful not to overstep.

Yang Hongi and the others watched on edge, hearts lodged in their throats, fearing that Xia Lan might lash out in violence.

Xia Lan rely glanced at the four individuals beside him before speaking.

“I’ve said all that needs to be said. I truly hope you can help clear my na!”

With those words, Xia Lan drifted over to a nearby piano and seamlessly sank into the ground beneath it.

Seeking justice for a ghost?

As Xia Lan vanished, Yang Hongi and her companions exchanged looks, each seeing the incredulity reflected in the others’ eyes.

Yet, the event unfolded before them, leaving them no choice but to accept the unbelievable.

Yang Hongi inhaled deeply and declared,

“Let’s head back.”

The group hurried out of the piano room and didn’t stop until they were beyond the school gates.

A chill wind caused them all to shudder.

“Boss, was that for real?”

None of them wanted to admit that they had just taken on a ghost’s plea for justice.

……

Elsewhere, at the piano room’s entrance, Jiang Hao was concealed, observing Yang Hongi’s departure and Xia Lan’s descent underground.

He furrowed his brow and ntally reached out to the system.

“System, does the concept of rit truly exist in this world?”

When Jiang Hao was poised to deal with Xia Lan, the System had ntioned that avenging the grievances of resentful spirits could earn him rit.

Noticing Yang Hongi and the others’ arrival, he decided to go with the flow and allow Xia Lan a few more days.

“Host, if ghosts are real, what’s to say anything else isn’t?”

The system’s response left Jiang Hao at a loss for words.

It appeared that with the system’s arrival, all possibilities were on the table!

With a resigned shake of his head, Jiang Hao turned and walked away.

Whether those individuals could vindicate Xia Lan or not was of no concern to him.
