C279 – One Could Not Keep a Low Profile All the Ti
After having an epiphany, Jiang Hao spoke up.

Just then, his phone rang.
Jiang Hao checked the caller ID—it was Xue Zixi.
With a quick glance back at the TV, he had a hunch about the reason for Xue Zixi’s call.
Dropping the mop, Jiang Hao headed to his bedroom with the phone in hand.
Jiang Zixuan cast a brief look at Jiang Hao but then went back to her own business.
Inside Jiang Hao’s bedroom, the conversation was about to begin.
“Hello, Miss Xue, what can I do for you?”
“Hello, Mr. Jiang, um, I was wondering if you were behind that incident?”
Xue Zixi faltered, her voice tinged with apprehension as she inquired.
Jiang Hao feigned ignorance upon hearing her question.
“Miss Xue, which incident are you referring to?”
After a brief hesitation, Xue Zixi mustered her courage and spoke up softly.
“The matter concerning Jia Renjie!”
At her words, Jiang Hao acted as if a lightbulb went off, as though he had just caught on.
“Oh! You an him!”
“There was no other way. He wouldn’t take my advice, so I had no choice but to persuade him a bit more firmly.”
A chill ran through Xue Zixi upon hearing this.
The Jia Family was an erging power, even slightly overshadowing the Heavenly-Mansion Tavern.
Yet, to Jiang Hao, the Jia Family seed no more significant than an ant he could easily squash.
In that mont, Xue Zixi’s admiration for Jiang Hao was accompanied by a renewed sense of fear.
Following a brief exchange of pleasantries, they ended the call.
Jiang Hao remained unaware of the turmoil within Xue Zixi’s heart.
His tendency to underplay his presence ant that people were familiar with his remarkable abilities, but oblivious to his true strength.
He realized that being too modest could actually be a disadvantage.
