Chapter 205 - The Upgrade Was Overwhelming
A minute later, the white car had completely vanished from Jiang Hao and Soong Wan's view.
Anxious, Soong Wan watched as Jiang Hao finally floored the accelerator, the car roaring to life and surging forward, prompting a startled scream from her.
Before long, the silhouette of the white car reerged in their sight.
Soong Wan couldn't help but shout with excitent, “Hurry, catch up to him!”
Jiang Hao grinned and stepped on the gas, closing the gap between the two vehicles.
As the white car took a sharp turn and slowed, Jiang Hao seized the mont to accelerate. Executing a flawless drift, he narrowly skimd past the white car and pulled ahead.
Glancing in the rearview mirror, he saw the white car's driver panic-brake. Without hesitation, Jiang Hao accelerated once more, leaving the white car far behind, soon out of the other driver's sight.
Inside the white car, the young driver's face was pale, his expression one of lingering shock. “Damn, that guy's insane!”
After a thrilling drive and exiting the highway, Jiang Hao finally eased off the speed.
He relished the rush of adrenaline he'd just experienced, a wave of excitent washing over him. Soong Wan shared in the exhilaration.
Just then, a middle-aged woman on an electric scooter wobbled by.
Her eyes sparkled at the sight of Jiang Hao's luxury car.
As he drove past, she abruptly steered her scooter into his path, colliding with Jiang Hao's newly purchased vehicle.
A cry rang out, “Ah! I hit soone! I hit soone!”
Instinctively, Jiang Hao slamd on the brakes.
Soong Wan, beside him, turned ghostly white with fear.
“Did we hit soone?”
Jiang Hao and Soong Wan hurried out of the car.
The sound of the doors opening amplified the woman's screams, drawing the attention of passersby.
Onlookers began to murmur and point at Jiang Hao and Soong Wan.
“Look at that, young people today just don't watch where they're going!”
“Exactly, they drive a beater like it's a jet plane!”
Jiang Hao and Soong Wan were all too aware of the murmurs rippling through the crowd.
In a flurry of panic, Soong Wan rushed to assist the woman who was wailing on the ground!
The middle-aged woman, upon noticing Soong Wan's approach, let slip a nearly imperceptible smirk.
“Hooked another wealthy na?ve one,” she thought.
Her cries then escalated into a full-blown wail.
At that mont, Jiang Hao's sharp instincts kicked in. With the use of his Spell Breaking Eye, he quickly discerned the whole situation.
He couldn't help but feel a sense of resignation.
“Damn, I never imagined I'd fall victim to a scam artist!”
Through the Spell Breaking Eye, he saw the reality: his car was nearly past when the woman deliberately collided with it!
Observing the woman who remained on the ground, feigning injury, it was clear to him what was happening.
Then, Jiang Hao's gaze fell upon his new car, now marred by a sizable dent, and he was overco with frustration.
“Oh, my new car!”
Looking over at the middle-aged woman, still sobbing uncontrollably, his annoyance grew.
He reached down and pulled Soong Wan to her feet.
Caught off guard, Soong Wan looked to Jiang Hao in confusion.
The scamming woman, montarily taken aback, wondered if her act had been too obvious.
But she quickly resud her act, crying out in feigned agony.
“My leg! Oh, my leg!”
Seeing the scamr persist in her charade, Jiang Hao resolved to give her a lesson she wouldn't forget.
