“How would I know if you did your job properly? Who knows? You might’ve simply abducted a random kid; am I supposed to give you commission for that?”

She could not resist snorting. “How greedy you guys are!”

Baby Chu watched the woman leave and heard the roar of a car engine monts later. Only after seeing, through a window, the car speeding by did his heart finally settle down.
